WILLIAMS
Mavis Christine Williams, 73, of Moss Point, Miss., died Aug. 10, 2002 in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born icon Nov. 6, 1928 in Philadelphia, Miss., , and had been a resident of Pascagoula for 51 years. She retired from the Navy Exchange in Pascagoula. She had been a longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church in Pascagoula; a member of American Legion Auxiliary; a member of the Pascagoula Senior Citizens and Moss Point Senior Citizens.. She also belonged to AARP, Pascagoula Navy Relief and had more than 9, 000 hours of volunteer service for Navy Relief.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Otis and wife, Kimberly Williams of Pascagoula, Miss., and Larry and wife, Cheryl Williams of Raleigh, N.C.; four sisters, Marguerite Harrison of Lucedale, Miss., Dorothy Fedrick of Jackson, Miss., Mary Parker of Philadelphia, Miss and Rebecca Mowdy of Lucedale, Miss.; five grandchildren, Michelle Ried of Semmes, Ala., Jay Williams of Birmingham, Ala., Alan Williams of Gautier, Miss., Courtney and Hayden Williams of Raleigh, N.C., and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12, 2002 at Parkway Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., at the church. Burial will be at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula, Miss.
Arrangements by Jackson County Funeral Services.

BRUMFIELD
Madge Elizabeth (Hamm) Brumfield, 85, of Escatawpa, Miss., died August 8, 2002, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born icon April 10, 1917, in Louisville, Miss. She was a homemaker and member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Louisville.
Survivors include her husband, Truly E. Brumfield of Escatawpa; son and daughter-in-law, Carlton (Ann) Martin of Escatawpa; daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndi (Phil) Harris of Escatawpa and Sylvia (Harold) Kemp of Louisville; brothers, Marion Hamm of Louisville and Donald Hamm of Escatawpa; sisters, Lorene Dees of Pensacola, Fla., Allene Peters and Frances Quinn, both of Louisville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Friday, August 9, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 10, at 11 a.m., from Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point with Elders Donald Hamm and Terry Breland officiating.
Entombment will be at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula, Miss.
Mrs. Brumfield's grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements provided by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.

CLARK
Eran Christine Ryan Clark, 93, of Hattiesburg, Miss., died Aug. 7, 2002, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. A lifelong resident of Forrest County, Miss., Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and a retired cafeteria manager after 25 years with Sacred Heart Catholic School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Alphonus Clark; two daughters, Theresa Clark Holland and Nancy Alice Clark; a son, Joseph Eugene "Willie" Clark; and a brother, Cecil M. Ryan.
Survivors include four sons, John Anthony Clark of Hattiesburg, Franklin Augustus Clark of Gulfport, Miss., Gerald Patrick Clark of Pascagoula, and David Jerome Clark of Huntsville, Ala.; two daughters, Tabitha Clark Mercier of Hattiesburg, and Dorothy Clark Creel of Huntsville, Ala.; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, with Rosary at 7 p.m., at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hattiesburg, with Msgr. Joseph Mercier officiating.
Interment will be in Clark cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Clark, Ryan Clark, Joseph Clark, Andy Mercier, Casey Mercier, Peter Mercier, Chris Mercier, and Tim Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Creel, Christopher Creel, Matthew Creel, Johnnie Creel and Danny Clark.

GORDON
Michael Gordon was born icon April 27, 1929, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was received into eternal life on Aug. 6, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Gordon and brother, Arden Gordon.
He was a member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church, where he attended mass until his illness.
He moved to New York with his parents when he was two years of age. He was educated in the New York City Schools. Later he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Mrs. Marie Gordon; his daughters, Mrs. Renise (Easton) Somers of Va., Patricia Gordon of Mass., Regina Gordon of Gulfport, Miss.; two sisters-in-law, June Fenty and Phyllis Gordon; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; three nephews; one niece; other relatives and a host of friends; three devoted cousins, Mrs. Sandra Binion, Mrs. Paula Evans, and Mr. Harold (Jack) Spurlock.
Funeral services will be at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church, 1715 Telephone Rd., Pascagoula, on Saturday, Aug. 10, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and Rosary at 10:45 a.m., followed by funeral mass at 11 a.m.

LOVELESS
Dorothy Imogene Loveless, 60, of Grand Bay, Ala., born icon Aug. 17, 1941, in Haleyville, Ala., died Aug. 8, 2002, in Grand Bay. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Grand Bay, and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Donald L. Loveless of Grand Bay; son, David L. Loveless of Grand Bay; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda S. (James) Henley of Theodore, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia A. (Mark) Merritt of Lucedale, Miss.; sisters, Mildred Gilbert of Pascagoula and Colene Goff of Wade, Miss.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 10, at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa, from 6 until 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 11, at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robbie Howard and the Rev. Teddie Turrentine officiating.
Burial will follow at Johnson cemetery in Wade, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Goff, John Ledlow, Gary Smith, Paul Warren, Jack Sims, and Burl Brewer. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby J. Felps.

WILLOUGHBY
Harvey Willoughby, 73, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday August 7, 2002, in Pascagoula. He was born icon in Kentucky on November 3, 1928. He has been a resident of Jackson County since 1968. He was a retired Sr. Chief of the United States Navy and from Ingalls Shipbuilding. Mr. Willoughby was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pascagoula. He was an avid bowler and fisherman, who loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Bethel Willoughby, two brothers Willie and Frankie Willoughby.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Willoughby of Pascagoula; three daughters, Terri Crump of Pascagoula, Diane (Don) Hutton of Findlay, Ohio, and Shirley McRae of Pascagoula; one son, Jerry (Chris) Willoughby of Ocean Springs, Miss.; one sister, Frona (Dave) Grinnan of Ludlow, Ken.; one brother Kellie Willoughby of Walton, Ken.; 12 grandchildren, Shawn Spears, Lisa (Josh) Church, Michael Gamble Jr., Brooxanne Crump all of Pascagoula, Joseph Suhor Jr. of Findlay, Ohio, Amber Willoughby of Calif., Alex, Josh, Matthew, Dakota and Nicole Marchand and C.J. Willoughby all of Ocean Springs; four great -grandchildren, Destiny and Kristen Church, and Logan Gamble of Pascagoula, and Elizabeth Suhor of Findlay, Ohio; best friend and fishing buddy, Floyd Comeaux of Pascagoula; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 3-5 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, followed by funeral service at 5 p.m., with Dr. Rex Yancey officiating.

WILLIAMS
Mr. Herman Williams, Sr., 83, of Moss Point, Miss., departed this life Aug. 3, 2002. He was born icon April 10, 1919, in St. Elmo, Ala., and has been a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Mr. Williams was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Meridian St. Baptist Church of Moss Point, where he served as Deacon.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II.
He returned home, and was employed with Ingalls Shipyard where he retired, and he also served with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department as a Commission Deputy Sheriff.
He's preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Williams and Daisy Watson Williams, former wife, Arie Lee Williams; four brothers, Charlie Jr., Leon, Curtis, and Eddie Williams; six sisters, Marie Latham, Pearl Gildersleeve, Bessie Tolbert, Mildred Hurd, Annie McWilliams, and Osa Wiley.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Williams, Moss Point; two daughters, Edith (Robert) Story, West Virginia, Jermaine Williams, Moss Point; four sons, Herman (Freddye Mae) Williams, Atmore, Ala., Sherman Williams, Cedric (Rolanda) Williams, and Maurice Williams, all of Moss Point; one brother, Carlton Williams, Pascagoula; two sisters, Jeanetta Williams and Delores Cashier, Pascagoula; one devoted sister-in-law, Donna (Daniel) Fairley, Bendale, Miss.; three brothers-in-law, Sam (Bettye) McLeod, Leaf, Miss., Curtis Tolbert, Dawes, Ala., and Willie Latham, Pensacola, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; special friends, Elvira Sessions, Olivia Lewis, Katie Stallworth, and Grover Furniss; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 10, 12 noon until 2 p.m., at Meridian St. Baptist Church, 5224 Meridian St., Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. from the church with the Rev. Johnnie Henry officiating.
Interment will be in St. Elmo cemetery, St. Elmo, Ala.

BISHOP
Charles Melvin Bishop, 70, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Sunday, August 4, 2002, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born icon March 29, 1932, in Pascagoula and has been a life-long resident. Mr. Bishop was a graduate of Mississippi Southern College with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. He retired after 37 years as an accountant from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula. He was also a former member of Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. Mr. Bishop was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Lela Bishop; brother, Eley Bishop, all of Pascagoula.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marian Bishop, Pascagoula; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Michael Bishop (Dianne), Pascagoula, Stephen Mitchell Bishop (Kim), Brandon, Miss., Kevin Matthew Bishop (Marsha), Long Beach, Miss.; brother, John Thomas Bishop, Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, Jareth, Taylor, Sydney, and Sarah Jane Bishop.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 6 to 8 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, with Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 7, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, Pascagoula with Father Frank J. Scott.
Active pallbearers will be Tommy Bishop, Jerry Bishop, Jimmy Bishop, Lewis Stiglets, Bo Bishop, and Jack Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Cox, Harold Ezell, Harold Terreson, Tuney Blackwell, Alvie Walker and John Cauley.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Missions, P. O. Box 368, Pascagoula, Miss., 39568.
Interment will be in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

TOCHE
Dorothy Easterly Toche, 51, of Vancleave, Miss., born icon Dec. 29, 1950, in Biloxi, Miss., died Monday, August 5, 2002, in Vancleave. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1968, and later received a Practical Nursing Degree from Jefferson Davis Junior College in Biloxi. In May 1972, she married icon Mr. John W. Easterly. The couple had two children, Jamie Marie Easterly and Jennifer Rae Easterly. Returning to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, she earned her Registered Nursing Degree and worked in several prominent hospitals, Biloxi Hospital, Clarksdale, Mississippi, Hospital, Gulfport Hospital, Gulf Coast Community Hospital, and the New Orleans Veterans Administration Hospital. As a dedicated nurse, she preferred to work in both emergency and operating rooms. Remarrying Mr. Charles T. Toche in 1992, she was active in many Gulf Coast organizations. An avowed sailor, she and her family enjoyed sailing, gardening and recreation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Lamey and Josephine Trochesset Lamey.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles T. Toche, Vancleave; two daughters, Jamie Easterly and Jennifer Easterly, both of Vancleave; three sisters, Mary Kenyon, D'Iberville, Miss., Amaryllis Shofner, Ocean Springs, Miss., and Catherine Kennedy, D'Iberville, Miss.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 7, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, Miss.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 7, at 11 a.m., from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, with Father John McGrath officiating.
Interment will be in Biloxi City cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.
Arrangements by Jackson County Funeral Services, Escatawpa, Miss.
