Mrs. Edna Lee Williams was born
on August 16, 1959 to the late Josephine Thompson and the late Will Johnson in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith.
She was educated in the Vicksburg Public School system. She attended Good Shepherd Center night classes to achieve her high school diploma. She worked as a housekeeper as well as a babysitter for several years until her health began to fail. She was a generous and loving person and was dedicated to her children. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Thompson and Will Johnson.
Cherishing her memories are her four children; Anthony Johnson, Jarmiah Johnson, Tyrone Williams and Cristal Johnson all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; five sisters, Olivia Haggan, LeVirdia Johnson, Joyce Anderson, Leanna Patterson all of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Mary Miller of Jackson, Mississippi; four brothers, James Johnson and Timothy Johnson both of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Leon Johnson of Dallas, Texas and Cleophus Johnson of Greenville, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Tashana Johnson and Little Anthony Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Jeffrey Jermaine King was born
on Saturday, February 1, 1986 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to James Harvey and Chandra King. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earlene and Willie Harvey.
At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Cool Spring Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Jeffrey attended Kings Headstart in Vicksburg, MS, Chamberlain Hunt Academy in Port Gibson, MS and continued his education at Turner Job Corp in Albany, Georgia.
Jeffrey moved to Houston, Texas in 2010 and began working as a Security Guard. He worked tirelessly for different security companies, attended different trainings and even received different certifications in the field of security. His desire was to start his own business of which he was in the process of doing.

Sister Emma Marie Mallett, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and person whose infectious spirit made those who were around her want to be better. The eighth of nine children, she was born
on January 14, 1954 to the late Ambus and Emma Wallace. She married
Mr. Eugene Odell Mallett and they became the parents of four children. She was preceded in death by; her parents, one brother, Charles Watts and one sister, Doris Simpson.
Emma truly loved the Lord. She accepted Christ at an early age and she believed that Jesus Christ is her Lord and personal Savior. She joined Clover Valley Missionary Baptist Church and remained faithful where she served as usher of the church until her demise.
She attended school in Warren County and was a graduate of Warren Central High School. She also took many courses to expand her education with a B.S. Degree at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi. She was employed for over 27 years with the Hinds County Human Resource Agency. After approximately 15 years, she was promoted to Center Administrator. She really enjoyed working with all of her co-workers and spending time with her children. Her greatest joy was to be able to spend quality time with all her grandchildren. She would always say that it's a grandmother's right to be able to spoil their grandchildren. They were her heart.

Knox (Frankie) of Vicksburg, Mississippi; five sisters, Loretta Poates, Rodia Watts-Sisney, and Vivian McNeil (Boyd), all of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Gloria Wallace and JoAnn Wallace both of Edwards, Mississippi; father-in-law, Eugene Mallett, Sr.; one brother-in-law, Willie Mallett, Sr. (Patricia); three sisters-in-law, Annie Pearl Miller, Barbara Erves (Larry) and Joyce Jack (Donnell); twelve grandchildren; Alexis, Candace, K'niya, Shantraile, Kadajah, Kenkedric, Kenneth, Sharise, Makayla, Shedrick, Jr., Labrone, Jr. and Antwuan; two great-grands, Jamirrial and Cormiya; a speical great niece that she raised as her own, Aaliyah Snow; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, three special friends, Deloris Jones, Ivory Christian and Martha Thompson and many other close friends.

Linda was born
on September 15, 1953, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to George Price Sr., and Willie Virginia Rush Price. They both preceded her in death. She was the fifth child of eleven children born
to this union. She received her early education in the Warren County Public School System attending; Bovina Elementary, Jefferson Jr. High, Rosa A. Temple High, and Warren Central High School.
In 1971, Linda entered Alcorn A & M College (Alcorn State University). She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics Education. She received a Master of Science in Institutional Management at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1977. After graduating from USM, Linda accepted a one-year internship at Florida State University. She entered the food service industry and labored for five years before she obtained employment with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She was a faithful and dedicated employee, serving in many capacities other than her teaching in the classroom. She worked for MDCPS for 27 years. She later worked for Broward County Public Schools. Linda retired from education on August 31, 2015. She moved to Atlanta after her retirement and lived with her daughter Rochelle during her final days.
Linda was a faithful member of Glendale Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. A. B. Brown, the former pastor of Mt. Alban M.B. Church in Vicksburg. She was a member of various churches as she moved from Mississippi to Tallahassee, Florida, followed by Dallas, Texas, then Orlando, Florida, and lastly Miami, Florida. In Miami as a devoted member of her church, she served with the Sunday school, Preschool Ministry, and Supporting Missions' Projects. Her Christian walk was a living testimony of her Christian faith. She truly lived her beliefs.
Everyone who knew Linda discovered that they could count on her to do what she promised, be where she said she would be "on time", and always finish what she started. She liked order and discipline, and used those attributes to methodically accomplish whatever goals she set for herself as well as others. People knew that they could depend on Linda. She was a reliable and dedicated friend indeed.
Linda Jane Price Carter leaves an abundance of memories to be cherished by family and friends. Her one passion in life was to preserve memories in pictures and videos. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Rochelle Renee Hogan, of Atlanta, Georgia; her son, Romeal Rufus Hogan, of State College, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Antonio Lavell Davis and Amari Lynn Fordham of Atlanta; her siblings, Virginia Richey (Thomas) of Tupelo, Mississippi, Beatrice Wilson (Wade) of Dallas, Texas, John Ellis Price (Carolyn) of DeSoto Texas, Kathryn E. Price of Tallahassee, Florida, Calvin Ray Price, Walter Earl Price and Patricia Ann Price of Vicksburg; two devoted aunts, Jannie B. Hill of Buffalo, New York and Annie Mae Wilson of Vicksburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Two sisters, Ruth Lee Price, Bernice Price White, and two brothers, Larry Darnell Price and George Price. Jr. preceded her in death. On this day, January 2, 2016, Linda will be laid to rest next to her mother, father, brothers, and sister.

My life's journey started on September 22, 1936. born
to the late Dennis and Mary Brown, I confessed Christ at an early age. Affectionately known as Mama, Grandmama, Grannie, Bae, Babe, Polly, Mann, Aunt Pauline, Auntie, Tee Tee and "The Matriarch". I served as the church secretary at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church for twenty plus years. I retired from the Vicksburg-Warren School District after twenty-five plus years.
My love of life, family and friends, I pray will continue to sustain all. My finest legacy is my joy for life. My family was a fixture of stability and I devoted myself to them tirelessly. I never met a stranger. When you entered my house you were going to eat and continue to come back for more. I was just that good of a chef. I became a second mother, aunt, grandmother and cheerleader champion to everyone who crossed my path.
I am preceded in death by my devoted husband, Arthur James Harris; a daughter, Jacqueline Elaine Harris; grandson, Derrick Funches; brothers, Dennis Brown, III, Freddie Johnson, James Brown, Leroy Brown, and Bobby Jack Brown; sisters, JoAnn Brown and Frankie Lightfoot, nephew, Marcus Brown and great nephew, Austin Harris.

Marjorie Williams Brandon was born
June 8, 1931, to the union of the late Wade Williams, Jr. and Josephine Gibson Williams. Her early education was in the Claiborne County Public School System. She was a devoted wife and mother, a
diligent civic leader, a social worker and an educator. Marjorie lived her entire adult life in the Russum community of Claiborne County.
At an early age, Marjorie accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at China Grove M. B. Church. On April 9, 1949, she married
Alonzo Brandon. God blessed this union with six children. Mrs. Brandon subsequently joined her
husband at Beechland M.B. Church; however, after her children grew up, shereturned to China Grove M. B. Church. Mother Brandon became a member of Word of Faith Christian Center Vicksburg in 2014.
Marjorie's hobbies included sewing, arts and crafts, upholstery, and gardening. Her social, civic activities were Port Gibson High School band booster, NAACP, Our Mart, Inc. board, and the Socialettes Club. In church, she served on the
Beautification Committee, the Mother's Board, and as a choir member.
Her initial entry into the workforce was in a restaurant. Later, she became a social worker with Project Head Start. Mrs. Brandon obtained an AA degree from Utica Junior College and a BA degree from Alcorn State University in 1986. In 1971, she was elected the first female African American Justice Court Judge in Claiborne County. Judge Brandon served more than 14 years. Her employment history includes 14 years as a teacher's assistant in the Claiborne County Public School
System and 34+ years as owner, manager of a mobile home park.
Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Brandon; son, John Brandon; three sisters: Mrs. Rosalie Weddington, Mrs. Estella Ward, and Mrs. Sallie Ruth Walker. She leaves to cherish her memory five children: E. Kennedy Brandon (Carman) of Detroit, MI; Vivian Brandon of Clinton, MS; Carl Brandon of Port Gibson, MS; Maxine Brandon Johnson (Carl) of Desoto, TX; Dennis Brandon (Glenda) of Vicksburg, MS; one daughter-in-law: Willie Brandon of Jackson, MS; three brothers: Percy Williams (Mildred) of Fremont, CA; Leon Williams of Oakland, CA; Glen Williams (Twanda) of Hampton, VA; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Martha Brandon Wright of Columbus, OH; Mrs. Cordelia Brandon King of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

April 26, 1945 in Vicksburg, MS by a mid-wife, Ada Wells to the late Evangelean Gaskin Barber and the late J. W. Knox, Sr. Mr. James was retired from Comed and West High School System in Aurora, IL.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosie Coleman and two brothers, Louis Gaskin, Sr. and Columbus Palmer, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Ryan Gaskin, two daughters, Brittany Tatum and Jamie Gaskin of Aurora, IL; four brothers, Eugene Palmer of Harvey, IL Arthur Roy and J. W. Daisy Lee Bell was born
January 20, 1941 to the late Henry Lee and Josephine Fox-Bell in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was the second eldest of five children born
to this union. Her twin brother, Henry Lee Bell, Jr. preceded her in death at birth.
Daisy confessed her faith in Christ at the age of ten at Triumph Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.C. Bolden in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Asa child, she was very active in the church serving as the adult Sunday school teacher, president of the junior choir, Baptist Training Union leader, and participating in many church programs. In 1973, she became a member of South Shore United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities – Sanctuary Choir, Trustee Committee, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Lay Leadership Committee, Lay Delegate to Annual Conference, Certified Lay Speaker, Liturgist, Day Care Board, United Methodist Women – Current President of the South Shore Unit and served the United Methodist Women beyond the local church at the Chicago Southern District level for more than 8 years, Bible Study leader, Metro – Women Auxiliary – President for several years, Marcy- Newberry Association.
Daisy attended Kings Elementary School from pre-school to eighth-grade where she graduated all-county valedictorian. She graduated from Rosa A. Temple High School in 1959 as Valedictorian of her class. In May 1963, she graduated from Jackson State University (formerly Jackson State College) with high honors earning her Bachelor of Science in music with a concentration in voice. She earned her Master of Education in music from the University of Chicago, Champaign-Urbana, IL and continued to earn her Master of Education degree and certification in administration and supervision and learning disabilities. She was also a registered real estate agent.
Daisy began her teaching career as a music teacher and choir director in September 1963 at Obannon High School in Greenville, Mississippi and continued her career as an elementary music teacher for the Vicksburg Municipal Separate School System at Bowman and Ken Karyl Elementary Schools. In 1970, she continued her teaching career with the Chicago Public School System at Armstrong Elementary School, Carver High School, Washington High School, Phillips High School (head of the music department), Corliss High School (assistant principal, head of music department, music teacher, instructor for the flag girls and majorettes), and Hirsch Metropolitan High School (principal). Daisy then furthered her career as administrator for the office of high school programs at the Chicago Board of Education retiring in 2002.
Daisy was active in several community organizations including, the Chicago Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Mu Chapter of Chicago, IL, and National Council of Negro Women.
Cherished memories will be fondly kept by her sisters, Julia Curry, Chicago, IL, Helen B. Bowman and Mary Alice Kenney (James), Vicksburg, MS; nephew, Kelvin Bell and niece, Kaylor Bell, Vicksburg, MS; God child, Jayne Hunter-Martin, Houston, TX; Riley family, Baton Rouge, LA; Rogers family, Vicksburg, MS, and many other family members and friends.
