God sent one of his angels on May 5, 1956 to Vicksburg, MS through Fannie Lee Norfort entrusting her to the late Robert and Beatrice Norfort. Realizing at an early age that Jesus Christ was her Savior, Fannie Lee Norfort was baptized by the late Rev. A. B. Brown at Mt. Pilgrim M.B. Church (Freetown), which she continued her commitment to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by becoming a faithful and active member at the House of Peace Worship Church under the leadership of Apostle Linda Sweezer.
Along her Christian journey, Fannie stopped to unite with the late James McNair, which this union produced four children: one son, Jason Norfort (Vicksburg, MS) and three daughters, Bridgette, Jennifer, and Courtney Norfort (Vicksburg, MS). When Fannie was not admiring, loving and nurturing her own children, she enjoyed utilizing her God-given motherly talents at several local preschools and daycares as a pre-school, daycare teacher.
Looking for his angel who he sent 60 years ago, God called for Fannie Lee Norfort-McNair on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital, in Jackson, MS. Fannie was called from labor to reward to join her close family members who went before her, which include parents, Beatrice Norfort and Robert Norfort, Sr., two brothers James and Andrew Norfort and two sisters Julia Bee Jones and Clementine Foster.
Among those who are left to remember Fannie's great sense of humor and her kind-hearted spirit includes: one sister, Ruth Carter (Vicksburg, MS), four brothers, Ruben and David Norfort (Vicksburg, MS) Robert Norfort, Jr. (Kansas City, KS) and Curtis Norfort (St. Louis, MO), two sisters-in-law Ethel Norfort (Saint Louis, MO) and Louella Norfort (Vicksburg, MS) and 9 grandchildren, who she dearly admired, two God-daughters, Michelle Johnson and Connie Goodman (Vicksburg, MS).
