Helen Marie King was born
August 15, 1958 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Josephine Walton and the late James King. Helen was the fourth of eight children. Helen personally accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C. R. Redden. She attended Vicksburg High School in the Warren County School District.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, James King; paternal grandparents, Estella and Jessie King; maternal grandmother, Willie B. Nailor; one brother, Haywood Bracey, Jr.; one sister, Augustine Stewart and her step-father, Ernest Walton, Sr.
Her memories will be cherished by her mother, Josephine Walton of Detroit, Michigan; one daughter, Victoria King and one son, Willie Delynn Wells both of Vicksburg, Mississippi; one granddaughter, Tatiyana Freeman and two grandsons, Antonio Brown and Kevin Moore, Jr., all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; three sisters, Ruby (Percy) Hall, Bernadine Bracey Owens all of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Hilda Gleese of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers, Charles (Nidego) Bracey of Stockton, California and Ernest (Monica) Walton, Jr. of Cedar Hill, Texas; aunts, Annie Lee Smith of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Addie Carter of Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. James C. Beamon, Sr., was born
November22, 1950 in Valley Park, Mississippi, from the union of George (Leland, Mississippi) and Martha (Utica, Mississippi) Beamon. He confessed Christ at an early age under the pastoral leadership of Reverend J.A. Miller of King David #2 Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
He graduated from North Vicksburg High School in 1974 and continued on to Hinds Community College where he played football and received his degree in Business Management. He worked for IBM for the next four years.
James, J.c. or Bob, as he was affectionately called by loved ones, worked both tirelessly and faithfully for the City of Vicksburg Gas Department for the past 25 years; he spent the last seven years leading the department as Superintendent.
James departed this life on February 1, 2013, and was preceded in death by parents George and Martha Beamon, Brothers Willie C. Beamon, George Beamon, Jr., William Beamon, Sisters Hattie B. Beamon and Georgia M. Beamon.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife of twenty-five years, Brenda Beamon; a son, James (Aretha) Beamon, Jr., of Lake Charles, Louisiana, two daughters, Tamika (Cassius) McRae of Savannah, Georgia, and Jocelyn (Rashad) Fisher of Augusta, Georgia; and two beloved stepsons, Damon (Clara) Stamps of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Andrew (Kathy) Stamps of Rancho Cucamonga, California; seven grandsons, Shacoby Beamon, Christopher Beamon, Andrew Stamps II, Legend Stamps, Damon Stamps, Jr., Damonte Stamps and Aaden Fisher; Brother Walter (Alice) Beamon, Vicksburg, Mississippi, Sisters Mary Merola, Martha (Willard) Murphy, Kansas City, Kansas, Ora Anderson, and Josephine Beamon (Reuben) Foster; mother-in-law Roberta Stamps; four sisters-in-law Joyce (the late Alfred) Daniel, Edna (James) Jackson, Linda Stamps and Patricia Stamps; six brothers-in-law Charlie (Rosemary) Stamps II, Charles (Lelia) Stamps, Alvin (JoAnn) Stamps, Sylvester (Gale) Stamps, Isaac (Angela) Stamps, and Derrick Stamps, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends .

Lucresia Thompson Beechem, the eleventh of 12 children, was born
the 29th day of March, 1918 to the late Canery and Minnie B. Thompson in Hinds County. Ten of her siblings preceded her in death.
On February 04, 2013, at 6:18 pm at St. Dominic’s Hospital in ICU Room #4614, Lucresia accepted the call of her heavenly Father and peacefully took her place with the Father. For her journey here on earth was complete.
Lucresia confessed and accepted Christ at an early age and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. The family later united with St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health failed. Although she was physically unable to attend, her church was always in her heart.
Lucresia united in holy matrimony with Kelly Jelks and to this union two children were born. L. J. Jelks preceded her in death.
She later united in holy matrimony with Hurie Beechem and to this union 9 children were born, Ada Mae Beechem and Carolyn Beechem Courtney preceded her in death.
Family was very important to her. She had a hand in rearing many nieces and nephews; as well as her own grandchildren, great grands and great-great grands. She was affectionately known as “Granny” to many in the neighborhood and community. She loved helping people and anyone could come to her home for a home cooked meal. Believing in God’s word that says "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby, some have entertained angels unaware".
She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Kelly (Jessie) Jelks, Jr., Edwards Mississippi; Helena (Cato) Robinson, Roosevelt (Sarah) Beechem, Jackson, Mississippi; Polly (Joe) Griggs, Cairo Illinois; Gloria Beechem, Edwards, Mississippi; Eddie Beechem, Gautier, Mississippi; Brenda Beechem Webster, Jackson, Mississippi; and a granddaughter she reared as her own, Sharon Courtney (Steve) Coleman, Clinton, Mississippi; one sister, Thelma Little, Edwards, Mississippi; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, loved ones and Delarren “D.D.” Singleton, who she affectionately thought of as a grandson.

Leslie Freeman Brown, better known as “Pop Brown, ” was born
June 23, 1944, to the proud parents of William and Clara Jackson Brown in Albion, Michigan. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church. He later joined Grace Temple C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of his brother, Reverend Robert L. Brown, Sr. In January 2011, he decided to unite with the Greater Grove Street Missionary Baptist Church Family under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Casey D. Fisher. He served as an elder of the church and was a faithful member of the Greater Grove Street Mass Choir and the Men of Faith Male Chorus.
Mr. Brown was united in holy matrimony to the late Mary Susan Ray Brown on August 5, 1972. To this union, one son, Granger W. Brown, was born. He departed this earthly life on, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
Leslie graduated from Washington Garden High School, where he received recognition and high honors for his vocal abilities. He retired from the Vicksburg Warren School District and Belk Department Store (formerly McRaes) after 24 years of Service. He also worked for McGraw Edison of Albion, Michigan.
Mr. Brown believed in giving God his highest praise. He enjoyed spending time at the Vicksburg Senior Center, mentoring and inspiring the young men of YMCAA, Inc., and spending time with his church family. He was also an active member of the River Region Senior Circle.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Susan Ray Brown; his parents, William and Clara Jackson Brown; and four brothers, Robert L. Brown, Sr. Herbert Brown, Clinton Brown, and Frederick Brown.
His memories will be cherished by a devoted son, Reverend Granger W. Brown of Vicksburg, Mississippi; one sister, Ernestine Brown Holt of Flint, Michigan; four sister-in-laws, Lillian C. Ray of Shreveport, Louisiana, Grangerette (George) Haynes, Sally L. Johnson, and Rose (Louis) Smith all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; seven god-children, Priscilla Berry and Ronnie Brown of Vicksburg, Annquenette Brown Kemp of Albion, Michigan, Robert J. Brown Jr., Corey Brown and Quentin Brown all of Jackson, Michigan, and Leonard Brown of Lansing, Michigan; one special niece, Wyves Brown Adorno of Cleveland, Ohio, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Beverly L. Denton was born
in Chicago, Illinois on June 25, 1959 to Clarone and Lovie Pettis. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 13 and was baptized at Christ Tabernacle Church on the South Side of Chicago. Later she and her family joined Showers of Blessing Holiness Church.
She lived in Chicago until her teenage years when she moved to Vicksburg. She attended and graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1977. While in Vicksburg she met her husband Harry.
Beverly was the 4th of ten children. This large and loving family shaped and molded her faith. A faith that was nurtured during her very lengthy illness. Her faith never wavered. It only deepened as God revealed more of who He is and was to her.
Beverly was a:
A Beloved Daughter;
A Loving Sister;
A Supportive Wife;
A Doting Mother;
A Faithful Friend.
She loved doing things for other people. Her favorite pastime was shopping.
In the early morning of Sunday, February 3, 2013, Beverly heard the whisper of God say, “My Child, Come Home and Be at Rest.”
I saw a new heaven and a new earth…
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.

Preceding her in death are two siblings, Michael and Joyce.
Celebrating her life is her husband of 34 years Harry; four children, Tamika, Harry Jr., Shawn and Stephanie; her parents, Clarone and Lovie Pettis; brothers, Louis (Tonya) Pettis and Marty Pettis; sisters, Tanya (Robert) Griffin, Faye (Kenneth) Gillard, Sheila (Aaron) Wims, Lisa (Elijah) Frederick, and Rosemary Pettis; sister-in-law, Robin; five grandchildren, Keyaira, Shawn Jr., Ethan, Mark, Aamiya and Joydan; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends, including the Williams, Mixon and Whitley families and her long time care taker, Pamela Shaw and her daughter, Jalisia.

Mr. Glen Douglas Hunter was born
October 1, 1954 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Hunter in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Mr. Hunter departed this life on Monday, January 28, 2013.
Glen was of the Baptist faith accepting Christ at an early age. He was a very talented painter.
Glen was joined in holy matrimony to Mary Mitchell on June 20, 1995. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Hunter and Laura Watson, brother, MacArthur Hunter and grandmother, Fannie Collins.

Arthur Truly Richardson was born
January 3, 1960 to Dora Richardson-Wolf and Claude Wolf. He was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a former member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He also attended Vicksburg High School where he played on the football team. He was a former employee of the Union Compress, City of Vicksburg and worked as a carpenter with his stepfather, Julius Carter.
Arthur was a very loyal and passionate father. He departed this life on January 22, 2013 at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was 53 years old.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cloyde Wolf, maternal grandparents, Truly and Mary Richardson; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Winnie Pearl Wolf; two sisters, Vinia Dolley Wilson and Winnie Wolf and one nephew, Walter L. Dolley, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his daughter, TaneaA. Casref Hilton was born
on January 29, 1946 to the late Pearlie Hilton and William Davis of Edwards, Mississippi. Both parents preceded him in death; his sister, Pearlie Williams and brother, J.B. Irving.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Joan Martin-Hilton in 1968 and to this union one child was born.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Smith Station. He attended Pleasant Grove School under the principalship of Mr. John Reed. He worked many years at McHann Builders in Edwards, Mississippi. He also attended Edwards Jr. High School, Edwards, Mississippi
Casref is survived by one son, Benard Hilton of Hartland, Texas; one grandson, Jordan Hilton of Jackson, Mississippi; step-granddaughter, Marinda Martin and one step-great granddaughter; Alicia Horton both of Mesquite, Texas; two sisters, Earnestine (Amos) Richardson of Edwards, Mississippi and Cathlean (Christopher) Walker of Detroit, Michigan; a special niece, Shelia Williams of Arlington, Texas; three nephews; Elder Benard Richardson of Senatobia, Mississippi, Amos Richardson, Jr. of Missouri City, Texas and Michael Richardson of Edwards, Mississippi.
