NATCHEZ - Services for Terry Lynn Evans, 50, of Vidalia, La., who died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.
Burial will be in Midway cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Evans was born
May 23, 1954, in Jena, La., the son of John David and Juanita Rush Evans.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his aunt, Betty L. Rush of Vidalia; three brothers, Larry Nix and his wife, Ruth of Natchez, John C. "Sparky" Evans and his wife, Debra of Vidalia and Jerry G. Evans and his wife, Cindy of Ridgecrest, La.; nieces and nephews, Jamie Evans, Steven Evans, Lori Nix Beckley, Brent Evans and Tristan McDaniel.
Pallbearers will be Steven Evans, John C. "Sparky" Evans, Leslie Bonnette, Larry Nix, Shaun McDonald and Jerry G. Evans.

Mr. Evans was born
May 23, 1954, in Jena, La., the son of John David and Juanita Rush Evans.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his aunt, Betty L. Rush of Vidalia; three brothers, Larry Evans and his wife, Ruth Nix of Natchez, John C. "Sparky" Evans and his wife, Debra of Vidalia and Jerry G. Evans and his wife, Cindy of Ridgecrest, La.; nieces and nephews, Jamie Evans, Steven Evans, Lori Nix Beckley, Brent Evans and Tristan McDaniel.

Jerold B. (Jerry) Erikson
BRANDON - Services for Jerold B. Erikson, 54, of Brandon, who died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Services are under the direction of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home on High Street and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Erikson was born
Jan. 18, 1950, in Pascagoula, and was reared in Natchez.
He graduated from Natchez Adams County High School in 1969 and continued his education, earning a B.S. in Accounting from Mississippi State University in 1972. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi College in 1989. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1963 and earned the Certified Public Manager designation. He served as the President of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Managers in 1998, when the Mississippi Society hosted the national meeting of the American Academy of Certified Public Managers. Jerry worked for the Mississippi State Tax Commission from 1978 until 1998. From 1991 through 1998, he served as Director of the Bureau of Audit and Compliance. Since 1998, Jerry has been Senior Manager of Mississippi Operations of Tax Recovery Associates, Inc. Jerry and his wife, Janis are members of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, where Jerry served as Treasurer. Jerry served the Fox Bay Homeowners' Association as President from 1996 through 1998 and continued to serve as Treasurer and a Director until his death. Jerry was a charter member of the Flowood Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Janis Erikson of Brandon; mother, Inez Erikson of McKenzie, Tenn.; sister, Kennie Fielding and her husband, Larry of Paris, Tenn.; niece, Nancy F. Parker and her husband, Jay; and sister-in-law, Mary Beth Hill and her husband, Alan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 400 Grant's Ferry Road, Brandon, Ms 39047 or to World Vision PO Box 70081, Tacoma, WA 98471-0081.

NATCHEZ -- Services for Mary Elizabeth Nichols Heard McLaurin, 91, of Natchezwho died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John Larson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home of Natchez.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to service time today at the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. McLaurin was born
April 11, 1913, in Forest, the daughter of Benjamin Roy Nichols and May Milling Nichols.
She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women and taught at Okalona High School, Clarksdale High School and Natchez public schools. She was the co-owner of Heard Music Co. of Natchez. She was a member of the Natchez Garden Club and the Natchez Pilot Club. She was an officer of the Ferriday Presbyterian Church and was most recently a member of First Presbyterian Church of Natchez.
Mrs. McLaurin was preceded in death by Franklin Coffee Heard Sr.; one sister, Lila Ruth Strahan; and two brothers, Isham Martin Nichols and Benjamin Roy Nichols Jr.
Survivors include her husband, D. Gilmer McLaurin; two sons, Franklin Coffee Heard Jr. and wife Linda Clinton Heard and David Nichols Heard and wife Judith Wentworth Heard, all of Natchez; two stepdaughters, Sarah McLaurin Vahlcamp and husband Charles Vahlcamp of Danville, Ky., and Mary McLaurin and husband Michael Arnold of London, England; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Leigh Heard Suttle and husband Thomas Henry Suttle of Laurel, William Franklin Heard and wife Leigh Anne Heard, Clinton Taylor Heard and wife Jennifer Lynn Heard, Sarah Coleman Heard and Christopher Wentworth Heard, all of Madison, and David Nichols Heard Jr. and wife Keri Leigh Tonn Heard of Corpus Christi, Texas; four great grandchildren, Jacob Foster Suttle, Sarah Elizabeth Suttle and Andrew Thomas Suttle, all of Laurel, and Nathan Franklin Heard of Madison; nephews, Bill Nichols of Washington D.C., Mike Nichols of Versailles, Ky. And John Martin Nichols of Cordova, Tenn., and one niece Mary Beth Starnes of Jacksonville, Fla.

MARSHALL, Texas -- Services for Imogene Andrews Lee, 54, who died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, Texas following a long illness, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Westside Church of Christ in Marshall, Texas with Brother Claude Andrews officiating.
Burial will follow in the Algoma cemetery in Marshall.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at the church.
She was a retired administrative assistant at Wiley College in Marshall.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ernestine Rand Andrews and two sisters, Carolyn Andrews and Maxine Bellard.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Steven Lee Jr.; four daughters, Andrea Peek of Virginia Beach, Va., Cynthia Moran of Atlanta and Ana-Marie Peek and Jinsyn Lee of Dallas; two brothers, Carlos Andrews and wife Debra of Natchez and Billy Ray Williams of Jefferson, Texas; three sisters, Bettie Brown and husband Clemmie of Dallas, Texas, Adella Jackson and husband Eddie of Karnack, Texas, Bonnie Allen and husband Gene of Ferriday, La.; one aunt, Rose Florence and husband Fred, one uncle, J.D. Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Scott was born
Sept. 2, 1924, in Adams County, the son of Willie and Rendie Washington Scott.
He served as custodian at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church for 28 years before retiring in 1998.
Survivors include a special friend, Mahalia Brown of Natchez and one cousin.
David Masters

NATCHEZ - Funeral services for David Masters, 59, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Glen Harrigil and the Rev. Gaylon Dawson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oak Grove cemetery in LaSalle Parish, La. under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Masters was born
Aug. 19, 1944, in Ferriday, La., the son of Johnny Osa and Blanche Ivey Masters.
He was a Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Masters of Natchez; mother, Blanche Jones of Tallulah, La.,; sister, Sissy Chunn of Bastrop, La.,; brothers, Wayne Masters of Bastrop and Johnny Masters of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Ballard, Andy Britt, Mark Ford, Bubby Hutchins, Tobe Roberts and Tooter Massey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Masters and Travis Masters.
James William Powers
Sept. 12, 1917 - May 26, 2004
NATCHEZ - Masonic graveside services for James William Powers, 86, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.
Mr. Powers was born
Sept. 12, 1917, in Doyline, La., the son of Grover and Bessie Shockley Powers.
He was a thirty second degree mason and a long time member of the Natchez Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Powers of Natchez; three sons, Jerry W. Powers of Baton Rouge, La., Harold L. Powers of Natchez and Allen R. Powers of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Gail Brooks of Ferriday; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Powers of Cullen, La.
Pallbearers will be Masons.

Janet Enell Jones

NATCHEZ - Services for Janet Enell Jones, 16, of Natchez, who died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smithland Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 6 to 10 today at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Miss Jones was born
Oct. 31, 1987, in Adams County, the daughter of Eneil F. Ambrose and Eloise Jones.
She was a 10th grader at Natchez High School. She was a member of Smithland Baptist Church as well as asst. secretary of the usher board, a member of the youth choir, Sunday School and bible study. Miss Jones was also a member of the National Honor Society, Commander of Color Guards for JROTC and elected Junior Class President for 2004-2005 school year. She was a photographer and reporter for Echoes, chosen editor for Echoes 2004-2005 school year, was a member of Diamond Princess Step Group and was training for powerlifting.
Survivors include parents, Eloise Jones and Eneil Ambrose; maternal grandparents, James and Janie Jones of Natchez; paternal grandmother, Verlean Ambrose of New Orleans, La.; maternal great-grandmother, Theresa Ford of Natchez; three sisters, Charlene K. Jones of Atlanta, Ga., Maisha Ambrose and Ashley Young of New Orleans; two brothers, Eneil Ambrose Jr. and Brandon Ambrose of New Orleans; nephew, Bradrick Dean Jr. of Natchez; four aunts, Ethel (Ernest) Clemons, Barbara Fleming, Mary Marshall, Alma (James) Jones, all of Natchez; two uncles, Walter (Rebecca) Jones of New Orleans and Willie B. (Quatreeta) Jones of Natchez; nine great-aunts, Emma (Charles) Kaho, Mary (Rev.
