CLEVELAND, Ohio - Services for Hilton Dennis, 76, of Cleveland, Ohio, who died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at his residence, was held at 11 a.m. June 24 at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church where the Dr. Otis Moss Jr., officiated.
Burial was in Cleveland Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wanton-Horne Chapel of Peace, Inc.
Mr. Dennis was born
June 22, 1927, in Doloroso, the son of Jesse and Jane Dennis.
He was retired from Acme Click, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church and the Male Chorus.
Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, four brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Hilton Dennis Jr. of New Orleans, La. an Kevin Dennis of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Marcella and Kem of Cleveland, Ohio and Karen of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; very special friend, Louise Terry of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, James Earls of Woodville and Kaiser Dunbar of Baton Rouge, La. and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Mary Bacon Paige

NATCHEZ - Services for Mary Bacon Paige, 78, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth E. Stanton Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Paige was born
Oct. 10, 1924, in Natchez, the daughter of George and Margaret Bacon.
She was a graduate of the Brumfield High Class of 1942, attended ASU and was a retired private duty nurse. She was a Baptist, was chairperson of the Mother's Board, member of the Missionary Society and the Senior Choir. She was a lover of caring for birds, plants and people.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda D. White; one son, Lee R. Paige; three grandchildren, Joy, Leon and William White; three great-grandchildren, Charnell Griffen, Briana Chester and Eboni Trevillion; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Harold Bacon, Paul Bacon, Larry Holmes, Ralph W. Jennings, Cyrus Mitchell and Cedric Parker.

NATCHEZ - Services for Mamie Douglas Ware, 79, of Natchez, who died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Bradenton, FL, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at George F. West Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Maurice Irving officiating.
Burial will be in St. James A.M.E. Church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ware was born
Aug. 18, 1923, the daughter of McKinley and Lauretta Douglas.
Survivors include one son, James Ware, Jr.; two sisters, Melissa Antley of Philadelphia, PA and Carrie Smith of Chicago, IL; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be family members.

Mrs. Mason was born
July 17, 1950, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Lindsey C. and Eva Nell Russell Cobb.
Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Julius Knotts, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Mason of Natchez; one daughter, Sherri McDonald and her husband, Travis of Slidell, LA; one son, Cal Templeton of Slidell; one step-daughter, Amanda Mason of Natchez; two grandchildren, Lendyl McDonald and Colleen McDonald of Slidell; one sister, Sharon Walsh and her husband, Sam of Liberty; three brothers, Lindsey Cobb and his wife, Sally of Fontana, CA, David Cobb and his wife, Pamela and Randy Cobb and his wife, Celeste, all of Natchez; two step-brothers, Bud Knotts of Panama City, FL and Julius Knotts, Jr. of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bud Knotts, Blake Walsh, Nathan Cobb, Nathan Gautier, Mike Rice and Byron Carnette.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Reeds, Jason Cobb and Tony Templeton.

Ms. Thompson was born
Jan. 14, 1934, in Adams County, the daughter of the late Estelle and Eugene Thompson.
She was educated in the Adams County School System, was a housewife and a member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church and the Senior Usher Board.
Survivors include one daughter, Katie Thompson (Herman Phipps) of Natchez; two sons, John Thompson and Charles Thompson of Natchez; two sisters, Flotie Woods and her husband, Sam of Natchez and Exlena Willis of Kenner, LA; four brothers, J.W. Thompson, James Thompson and Albert Thompson, all of Natchez and Bishop Thompson of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Watson, Leonard Jackson, Harry Smith, Harold Smith, Tyrone Gooseberry and Terrance Thompson.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Byrd was born
June 20, 1938, in Hamburg, the daughter of Everett Warren and Ruth Elizabeth Whitehead Wallace.
Patty retired from AT&T; in 1988 after 30 years of dedicated service. She has been the Office Manager/Adminstrator for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office since 1989 where she was certified by the state Department of Public Safety as the Justice Information Center Terminal Coordinator. She completed training on the State Criminal History System as well as training at the state Law Enforcement Officer's Training Academy. She was qualified by the State Board Emergency Telecommunications. Patty was one of the few professionals in the state to receive the highly prestigious State Auditor's Distinguished Public Servant Award recognizing her service to the citizens of Franklin County as well as her integrity, honesty and accountability in government. She was active in civic affairs and played an active role with several local, county and state political campaigns. Patty attended Eddiceton Baptist Church and served as a caregiver for the elderly.
Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Carman Darlene Byrd.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Allen "Jack" Byrd of Eddiceton; daughter, Allison "Cookie" Atkinson and her husband, Glenn Atkinson of Palm City, Fla.; granddaughter, Alyx Atkinson; grandson, Jacob Atkinson; sister, Darlene Powell and her husband, Wendell Powell of Baton Rouge; brother, Charles Wallace of Bowie, Texas; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ward Wallace, Chuck Wallace, Wes Wallace, Chris Wallace, Allan Byrd and Al Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff James Newman, Franklin County Sheriff Deputies and Dispatchers, Sedrick Middleton, Tony Rouse, Rodney Foster, John Blackwell, Joseph Cothren, Kevin Mullins, Felicia Holland, Wendell Boyte and Otis Dyer.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Center, Natchez Children's Home or Eddiceton Baptist Church.
Wilson Bell, Jr.
March 21, 1920 - July 25, 2003
NATCHEZ -- Services for Wilson Bell, Jr., 83, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Friday at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. L. E. Bolin officiating.
Burial will be in the National cemetery under the direction of Curtis Funeral System, Inc.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Bell was born
March 21, 1920, in Adams County, the son of Wilson Bell, Sr. and Rebecca Bell.
He was a member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Margie Clark of Natchez, Myra Williams of Vidalia, La., Clara Swayze of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Bridgette Gilchrist of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Willie B. Williams of Atlanta, GA and Wilson Young of Natchez; one sister, Rebecca Cain of Georgia; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Gregory D. Chambers
March 27, 1971 - July 24, 2003
WOODVILLE - Services for Gregory D. Chambers, 32, of Woodville, who died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at his residence, will be at noon Wednesday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Woodville with the Rev. Nathaniel Nelson officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Rest cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA.

March 27, 1961, in Centreville, the son of Leon and Willie Johnson Chambers.
