Christine Rosso Canova
WOODVILLE - Graveside services for Christine Rosso Canova, 85, of Woodville, who died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen cemetery with the Rev. Henry Shelton officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Berryhill Funeral Home of Woodville.
She was a housewife and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Canova was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Canova; three brothers, Dick Rosso, Henry Rosso and Salvatore Rosso; five sisters, Mary R. Bellipani, Saral R. Best, Francis R. Shelton, Rega R. Lessley and Rose R. Vinci; and her parents, Salvatore Rosso and Concettina Faille Rosso.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlene C. Lolley of Gulfport, Cheryl C. Oman of Newport News, Va., and Christine C. Driskell of Madison; three sons, Charles A. Canova Jr. of Woodville, Dennis Canova of Liberty and Eugene J. Canova of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister, Gloria R. Wilcox of St. Francisville, La.; and four grandchildren.
Lawrence Martin
Aug. 6, 1956 - April 2, 2003
NATCHEZ - Services for Lawrence Martin, 46, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Washington officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.
The procession will leave at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from 1049 Martin Lane.
Mr. Martin was born
Aug. 6, 1956, in Adams County, the son of Thomizen Martin and Walter Martin.
His educated at Sadie V. Thompson, was employed with KCS Lumber and was a Baptist.
Survivors include one sister, Deborah Lyles; two brothers, Elbert Martin and his wife, Lydia, both of Columbus, Ga. and Micheal Martin of Peoria, Ill.; an aunt, Mary M. Johnson of Natchez; and five children, Ayoka Larry, Shonda Moore, Sharon Reed, Cedric Reed and Dwanda Reed.
Pallbearers will be Cedric Reed, Oscar Conner, Vaughn Batiste and Keith Barnes.
Leonard S. Pickle
Nov. 9, 1922 - April 1, 2003
NATCHEZ - Services for Leonard S. Pickle, 80, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Covington Road Church of Christ with Elder Talmadge Anderson and Terry Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Pickle was born
Nov. 9, 1922, in Barnes, the son of Sidney Edward and Scereptia Jane Sanders Pickle.
He was a member of Covington Road Church of Christ for 50 years, held a bachelor of science degree from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and owned Gilbert Drug Store, Pickle Rexall Drugs and Reeves Drug Store. Mr. Pickle served in World War II as skipper of U.S. Navy LCT 1140 and was stationed in the South Pacific. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and was a member of Natchez Kiwanis Club with 25 years perfect attendance.
Mr. Pickle was preceded in death by his father; one son, David Pickle; one brother, Olin Pickle.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae Farr Pickle of Natchez; his mother, Scereptia Pickle of Kosciusko; two sons, Edward Pickle and his wife, Addie and Bruce Pickle and his wife, Jan, all of Natchez; grandchildren, Dwight Taylor, Kelly Baldwin and her husband, David and Nicole Pickle; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Chase Baldwin; one sister, Lois Cockcroft of Carthage; and sisters-in-law, Sophie Campbell, Carolyn Fortney and Margaret Allen.
Pallbearers will be Gary Farmer, George Nasif, Robert Byrd, Buddy Latham, Jerry Dantzler and Dwight Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Klotz, H.C. Rose, James Lewis, Bob Durr and Covington Road Men's Bible Class.

Rose Sanders Leak

NATCHEZ - Services for Rose Sanders Leak, 98, of Crosby, who died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, was held at noon March 28 at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Zawacki SSJ officiating.
Burial was in Leak Family cemetery in Possum Corner under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leak was born
July 1, 1904, in Natchez, the daughter of Mamie and William Sanders. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Leak was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thad Leak Sr.; four sons, Hardie, twins Robert and Paul and Bonnie Leake; and a grandson, William Leake.
She is survived by three sons, Philip Leake, Thad Leake Jr. and his wife, Artis and Jack Leake and his wife, Bessie; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Hall and Spencer "Pop" Stutzman.
Linda Stallone Hinton

MADISON - A funeral mass for Linda Stallone Hinton, 84, who died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home of Ridgeland.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Hinton was born
April 12, 1918, in Natchez.
She was a homemaker, moved to Jackson more than 40 years ago and was a volunteer at St. Mary's Catholic School.
Mrs. Hinton was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Lefty" Hinton, two sisters, four brothers and her parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra K. Hinton of Jackson, Mary Pat Hinton of Wheeling, Ill., and Lynn Hinton Roth and her husband, Sam V., both of Ridgeland; four grandchildren, Ashley R. Scales of Brooklyn, N.Y., C. Trey Scales of Whitefish, Mont., and Rachel V. Roth and Tyler Roth, both of Ridgeland.

Jan. 6, 1980, in Natchez.
He is survived by his former wife, Annette Vanier of Woodville; three daughters, Michelle Vanier, Destiny Vanier and Nicole Vanier, all of Woodville; his mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Jim Schmalke, both of Natchez; his father and stepmother, Darrell and Debbie Vanier, both of Natchez; two brothers, Darrell Vanier Jr. and Christopher Vanier, both of Natchez; one sister, Amanda Kelly of Georgetown; his maternal grandfather, Jerry Cowart of Vidalia, La.; his paternal grandfather, Jimmy Vanier of Vidalia; his paternal grandmother, Earline Lemoine of Ferriday, La.; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Baker, Tim Cupit, Mike Bumgarner, Donnie Buttler, Don Buttler and Aaron Cupit.

Alvin Evans

CRANFIELD - Services for Alvin "Bugger" Evans, 72, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Tracehaven Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Windy Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Robert Minor officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Evans was born
Aug. 3, 1930, in Adams County, the son of Ella Williams Dixon.
He was educated in the Adams County School System and was a retired construction worker and a member of Windy Hill Baptist Church No. 1.
Survivors include one aunt, Katie Evans; three uncles, Hewitt Evans and his wife, Dinah, Emory Evans and Otis Evans; six cousins, Ameal Evans, Horace Evans, Johnny Lee Evans, Phillips Williams and Camille Evans; godsister, Mable Evans; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Arthur W. Richter Jr.
Sept. 10, 1952 - March 11, 2003
EDINBURG, N.Y. - Services for Arthur W. "Skip" Richter Jr., 50, of Edinburg, who died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Saratoga Hospital, were held March 14 at Northville Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Batchellerville cemetery in the spring.
Mr. Richter was born
Sept. 10, 1952, in Amsterdam, N.Y., the son of Arthur W. and Annabelle Richter Sr.
He was a 1970 graduate of Northville Central School, was active in high school basketball and baseball and attended the State University of New York at Canton. He was employed as a general contractor for many years and ran Richter's Tavern.
Mr. Richter was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Richter.
Survivors include one son, Arthur W. "Aric" Richter IV of Natchez.

NATCHEZ - Memorial services for Patricia Benoist, 71, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 30, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dennis Flach officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Stratton Chapel, adjacent to the church.
Cremation services were provided by Riverwood Memorial Services of Brookhaven.
Mrs. Benoist, nee Patricia Jane White, was born
Dec. 10, 1931, in Newkirk, Okla. She was a graduate of Newkirk High School and Oklahoma State A&M; College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Natchez and the Natchez Garden Club and was an active alumnae of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was a substitute teacher for Adams County Public Schools and managed the successful campaigns of her husband, Edwin E. Benoist, for county prosecuting attorney and 6th District circuit judge.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Benoist and Keith Benoist, both of Natchez, Lee Benoist of Jackson and Glenn Benoist of Southlake, Texas; four grandchildren, Mary Turner Benoist of New Orleans and Glenn Hunt "Jake" Benoist Jr., Ronald Patrick Benoist and Caroline Lea Benoist, all of Southlake; one niece, Danetta White Layne of Tonkawa, Okla.; one nephew, Joseph Hoy White of Tonkawa; one grand-niece; and three great-grandnephews, all of Tonkawa.
