Edgar Jones Jr., 44, of Corinth, formerly of Holly Springs, died March 21, 2005 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was a member of Pleasant Grove MB Church in Corinth, a church usher and a factory worker with Corinthian Furniture Factory.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on March 25 at Strawberry MB Church in Holly Springs, where he was a former member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Johnnie Bobo officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home officiated.

He leaves his wife, Doris Hampton Jones; a daughter, Ebony Renisha Jones of Corinth; a son, Edgar Deonta Jones of Corinth; his stepfather, Henderson Miller of Waterford; six sisters, Anna M. Jones, Shirley Mayfield, Deborah Jones and Lois Jones Bean, all of Holly Springs, Dorothy Bonds of Florence, Ala., Queen E. Drake of Springfield, Ill.; two brothers, James Jones, Jeffries Jones, both of Holly Springs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Jones Sr.; his mother, Nannie Holloway Jones Miller; a sister, Helen McKinney; and a brother, Robert Jones.

Pallbearers were Thomas Nabors, Wilbert Brown, Tim Oliver, Wayne Stinson, Elvis Campbell, Carl Malone, Larry Rankins, HSHS Class of ’79. Honorary pallbearers were James Henry Jones, Clarence Deonta Gorman, Rayzel Gross, Jeffries Jones, James Frank Mayfield, Herbert Drake, Rev. Andrew Bonds.

Hazel E. Lindsey
Hazel E. Lindsey, 69, of Byhalia, died March 25, 2005 at her home. She was the widow of Clyde Lindsey Jr., a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church in Byhalia, and retired from Deltona Lighting in Senatobia.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on March 28 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Ark. Bro. Billy Watkins officiated.

She leaves two sons, Ronny Lindsey, Joey Lindsey, both of Byhalia; a brother, Willie Pipes of Jonesboro, Ark.; three sisters, Syble Meyers of Missouri, Mardra Davis of California, Sylvia Parsley of Nevada; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Clyde Lindsey; two daughters, Patricia Gail Coonrod, Carolyn Annette Lindsey.

Cassie L. Miller
Cassie L. Miller, 86, of Holly Springs, died March 21, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. He was the widow of Hazel Miller.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 24 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Early Grove cemetery in Michigan City.

He leaves four sons, Johnny Miller of Holly Springs, Jerry Miller of Eldorado, Kan., Charles Miller of Fulton, Kan., Billy Miller of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Shirley Clarkson of Holly Springs, Barbara Pickens of Saltillo, Laverne Miller of Lamar; two brothers, Roderick Miller, Razz Carpenter, both of Michigan City; two sisters, Lois Yeager of Greenwood, Mary Ruth Swords of Ingomar; 31 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Miller, Ben Miller; a daughter, Carolyn Clemment; and three grandchildren.

Jimmy Lee Milsap
Jimmy Lee Milsap, 66, of New Albany, died March 25, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on March 28 at Union Grove MB Church in New Albany. Burial was in Piney Grove cemetery in New Albany. Rev. Willie B. Sampson, pastor, and elder Don Smith officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves seven children, Bobbie Barry, Dorothy Milsap, both of New Albany, Teresa Marion of Oxford, Sonya Milsap of Shannon, Jerry Milsap, Michael Milsap and Lawrence Milsap, all of New Albany; a brother, Ralph Milsap of Colorado; a sister, Alice Milsap of New Albany; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Phillip W. Stroupe
Phillip W. Stroupe, 86, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died March 23, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. He was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army, postmaster general in Dallas, Tx, and a retired political columnist with the Jackson Daily News.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 29 at Christ United Methodist Church. Burial was in Byhalia cemetery. Memphis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a niece who helped care for him, Ann England of Memphis.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.

Terry Wilson
Terry Wilson (2-C), 36, of Memphis, died March 16, 2005 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Yarbrough Chapel in Holly Springs.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 21 at M.J. Edwards and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Memphis. Burial was in Yarbrough Chapel cemetery. Rev. Lee Wilson officiated.

He leaves his wife, Rachel Wilson; two sons, Terry Anthony Wilson and Terrell Wilson; his mother, Ms. Willie B. Franklin of Memphis; his grandmother, Ms. Susie Stinson of Holly Springs; eight sisters, Sharson Wilson, Princella Howard, his caregiver, Carla Wilson, Mary Barksdale, Cora Stevenson, Gene Barksdale, Faith and Rebecca; six brothers, Jackie Wilson, Carton Dion Hiler, Chester Barksdale, Brodie Barksdale, Robert Barksdale and Willie James Faulkner.

Percy Edward Anderson
Percy Edward Anderson, 61, of Holly Springs, died March 29, 2005 at Baptist Desoto. He was a Baptist and an employee with PSI Olive Branch in fabrication.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 1 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated.

He leaves his wife, Brenda Rhea Anderson; two sons, Robert Anderson of Holly Springs, Eddie Anderson Jr. of Somerville, Tenn.; a daughter, Janice Davis of Somerville, Tenn.; his mother, Ruth G. Murrell of Holly Springs; two sisters, Ruby Anderson of Nashville, Tenn., Lea Lemmons of Potts Camp; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Anderson and Homer Anderson.

Pallbearers were Joey Bolden, Scott Feathers, Roy Carpenter, Ricky Taylor, John Paul Carpenter, Champ Smith, Monroe Bolden, Bobby Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers were Thed Hunt, Kenneth Feathers, Bubba Feathers, Larry Wright.

Willie Crawford
Willie Crawford, 59, of Michigan City, died March 24, 2005 at Galloway Health Care in Galloway, Tenn.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 2 at Palestine MB Church in Michigan City. Burial was in Samuel Chapel cemetery in Ashland. Rev. Leon Perry officiated. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his mother, Floy Smith of Michigan City; eight children, Debra Brittman of Michigan City, Jackie Cheairs, Bridget Cheairs, both of Grand Junction, Tenn., Seante Renee Crawford of Michigan City, Pat Cole of Olive Branch, Quentine T. Crawford of Clarksville, Tenn., Darren Cheairs of New Albany, Antonio Leasure of Holly Springs; two brothers, Jackie Crawford of Michigan City, Tom Berry Jr of Racine, Wisc.; two sisters, Dianne Gamble of Birmingham, Ala., Alberta Johnson of Oakland, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Waverly T. Eason
Waverly T. Eason, 68, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Byhalia, died March 24, 2005 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was an auto mechanic.

Services were held at 12 noon on April 2 at Parkway Village Church of Christ in Memphis. Burial was in Robert Chapel Church cemetery in Coldwater. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Mary Ellen Wooten Eason; three daughters, Carolyn Burgess of Harvey, Ill., Marchelle McCoach of Memphis, Tenn., Colette Ladd of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Eason, Corey Eason, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Emma Faulkner, Violet Garner, both of Memphis, Remel Warren of Bolton, Ill.; three brothers, Sidney Eason of Chicago, Ill., Tom Eason of Kansas City, Kan., Matthew D. House of Coldwater; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Clarice Eugenia Gray Floyd
Clarice Eugenia Gray Floyd, 89, of New Albany, died March 28, 2005 at her home. She was a Baptist.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on April 2 at Cornersville cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three sons, Ronald E. Floyd of Slayden, Kenneth Doyle Floyd of Ft. Myers, Fla., Hubert Raymond Floyd of Duncan, Okla.; two brothers, William Ivy Gray of Savannah, Tenn., Arnold Gray of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Wilma Rhea of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

William Alvin Harris
William Alvin (Dubbye) Harris, 64, of Waterford, died March 30, 2005 at home. He was a Pentecostal and a self-employed truck driver.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 1 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated.

He leaves his wife, Mary Harris; three sons, William Andrew Harris of Waterford, Gregory Dale Harris of Myrtle, Willie Alvin Harris of Waterford; two daughters, Debbye Jean Harris of Sarasota, Fla., Penny Harris Rikard of Waterford; two sisters, Stella Buchanan of Millington, Tenn., Louise Gower of Heber Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Aaron Kimery, Joey Kimery, Jerry Lumpkin, Terry Bryant, James Bryant, Gene Umbarger.

Evelyn Howell Hudson
Evelyn Howell Hudson, 90, of West Memphis, Ark., formerly of Potts Camp, died March 27, 2005 at Broadway Health Care Center in West Memphis. She was the widow of Green Hudson, a member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church in Potts Camp, a former church secretary and treasurer, and a retired domestic worker in private homes.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 2 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial was in St. Mary’s United Methodist Church cemetery. Bro. James Hudson and Rev. Eddie Ford officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, James (Jack) Hudson of Marion, Ark.; and two granddaughters, Erika Hudson Singleton of Charlotte, N.C., Rika Hudson of Marion, Ark.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Senior Airman Bryant Hudson.
