Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 14 at Wyatte Community Church in Senatobia, where he was a member.

She leaves her husband, U.L. Davis Sr.; five daughters, Ollie Ingram, Verna Cathey, both of Holly Springs, Mae Lena Mays, Felicia Davis, both of Holly Springs, Arbella Nichols of Byhalia; five sons, U.L. Davis Jr., Joe Lee Davis, both of Senatobia, Larry Davis of Como, Almos Davis of Memphis, Tenn., Wavely T. Davis of Southaven; four sisters, Henretta Jones, Mary Lee Cathey, Linda Woods, all of Senatobia, Hazel Harden of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Boyd Caradine of Senatobia, Andrew Lee Caradine of Byhalia; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Betty Doris Day
Betty Doris Day, 72, of Potts Camp, died May 12, 2005 at her home.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 14 at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Steve Wilson, Bro. John Vasquez and her nephew Ralph Pipkin officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Kelly Day; her son, Ronnie Day of Potts Camp; her daughter, Sandra Fitch of Potts Camp; a brother, Dallas Lemons of Potts Camp; two sisters, Mary Pipkin of Forrest City, Ark., Jessie Pipkin of Potts Camp; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dennis Garrison, Randy Paton, Scott Paton, Perry Pipkin, Carl Pipkin, Greg Goode, Shane Goode, Christopher Huey, John Austin Valentine, Dillon Day, Mike Lemons, Ricky Frazier, Gary Frazier, Danny Frazier, Barry Skelton, Bruce Day, Roger Day, Kenneth Day.

James Delvridge
James Delvridge, 57, of Waterford, died May 14, 2005 at his daughter’s residence in Sunrise, Ariz.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on May 21 at Wilkins Chapel Church in Waterford. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his father, Elijan Delvridge of Waterford; his children’s mother, Barbara Delvridge of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three daughters, Quinessa Green, Jamie Delvridge, both of Grand Rapids, Lolita Delvridge of Sunrise, Ariz.; a son, Anthony Delvridge of Waterford; his brother, A.C. Delvridge of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Annie Raimey, Lillie Humphries, both of Waterford; and seven grandchildren.

Jeremy Jason Eskridge
Jeremy Jason Eskridge, 70, of Tupelo, died May 11, 2005 at his home. He attended Holly Springs High School, Milsaps College, the University of Mississippi, where he received his J.D. degree. He had practiced law since 1964. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant, followed by many years in the Naval Reserve. He was a Methodist.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 13 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Home. Dr. Sam O. Morris officiated.

He leaves two daughters, Susan Eskridge Frazier of Jackson, Laurel Eskridge of Austin, Tx.; a stepdaughter, Lisa Magers Cascarella of Memphis, Tenn.; two stepsons, William Scott Magers of Huntsville, Ala., Robert Allen Magers of Baldwyn; two grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He also leaves Helen Thorne Eskridge and Susan Cole Eskridge, both of Tupelo.

Memorials may be made to Stewpot Community Services, 1100 W. Capitol St., Jackson, MS 39203, or the Tupelo Humane Society, 2400 S. Gloster Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.

Clim Hearn
Clim Hearn, 57, died May 7, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hosptial-DeSoto in Southaven. He was a service station attendant at LaFever Service Center in Holly Springs, and a member of Hernando Road church of Christ in Holly Springs.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 14 at Mt. Gilead CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Willie Hoey officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves four sisters, Annie Marion of Potts Camp, Louise Riddle, Willie Frances Lester, Olivia Bynote, all of Holly Springs; and two brothers, Mansfield Hearn of Abbeville, Andrew Lee Hearn of Holly Springs.

Pallbearers were Selma Marion Jr., Frankie Hearns, Robert Curry, T.C. Malone, Larry Hearns, A.C. Delbridge. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Foster, Gary Pegues, Loyce Malone, Eric Porter, William Jeffries, and Willie Adams.

Charlie Jackson Jr.
Charlie Jackson Jr., 64, of Ashland, died May 4, 2005 at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on May 14 at Sims Chapel MB Church in Ashland. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves four children, Brenda Thomas of Cordova, Tenn., Ella Stevenson, Charles Jackson, both of Memphis, Tenn., Lashell Jackson of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Mattie Lou Craig of Holly Springs; six brothers, Frank Bolden of Ashland, Willie Craig of Byhalia; Charles Edward Craig of Slayden, James Craig of Lamar, Joe Craig of Byhalia, Lee Roy Jackson of New York; and six grandchildren.

Joseph Marion
Joseph (Smokey) Marion, 77, of Laws Hill, died May 6, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. He was the widower of Inez Shaw Marion. He was a member of Mt. Comfort CME Church in Laws Hill, a church steward, chairperson of the trustee board and a member of the finance committee. He was a retired factory worker with Diamond Plating in Memphis, Tenn.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 14 at Mt. Peel MB Church in Laws Hill. Burial was in the church cemetery. Elder Joseph Grantham officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves four daughters, Benita Marion-Ivy of Holly Springs, Gwendolyn Hoey of Waterford, Bertha Jeffries of Grand Rapids, Mich., Veonia Gadis of Indianapolis, Ind.; four sons, Travis Marion of Aurora, Ill. Maurice Marion of Champaign, Ill., Dietrich Marion of Laws Hill, Russell Shaw of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Lillie Bell Miller of Champaign, Ill.; 40 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Malone; three sons, Barney Marion, Carlton Marion, Calvin Marion; a brother, Frank Marion.

Pallbearers were Terrance Donnell, Ricky Harris, Robert Howell, Lonny Jones, Clifford Martin, Mario Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Marion, Russell Shaw, Travis Marion, Anthony Ivy, Linwood Malone, Mondrekus Marion, Maurice Marion, Dietrich Marion, George Jeffries, Charles Talley, Michael McGee.

Estella Kimbrough McKay
Estella Kimbrough McKay, 86, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died May 9, 2005 at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Chicago. She was the widow of Albert McKay, and a retired factory worker.

Services were held at 12 noon on May 15 at Hudsonville CME Church, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby Wilson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Corrine McKay-Jones of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Dallas Marion of Holly Springs; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mae Bell Riddle.

Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Lillie Pearl Wilson Walker
Lillie Pearl Wilson Walker, 72, of Holly Springs, died May 6, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford. She was the widow of Willie B. Walker. She was a member of Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, a church treasurer, a church steward and trustee. She was a retired domestic worker in private homes.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 14 at Rust College, Doxey Auditorium in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Pastor Billy Williams officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves four daughters, Janice Jean Walker of Holly Springs, Elaine Williams of Oxford, Pearlie Jean Walker of Frankfort, Kent., Mary Walker Collie of Milwaukee, Wisc.; three sons, Delois (Blade) Walker of Memphis, Tenn., Charles Edward Walker, Dennis Ray Walker, both of Holly Springs; eight sisters, Margaret Myles of Altadena, Calif., Barbara Ward of Victorville, Calif., Irene Frames, Pauline Walker, both of Champaign, Ill., Evelyn O. Walker of Montgomery, Ill., Cordia Harper of Byhalia, Corrine Pryor, Mamie D. Malone, both of Holly Springs; four brothers, Tarther (Jack) Thompson Jr. of Holly Springs, Lawrence Thompson, John Thompson, Russell Thompson, all of Aurora, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jacquis Walker, Lataryl Williams, Charles Walker, Clebin T. Walker, Jamarus Collie, Quinton Ruff, Jarvis Tuggles. Honorary pallbearers were Delois (Blade) Walker, Charles Edward Walker, Henry Williams, Dennis Ray Walker, Raymond Collie, John Zinn Jr.

Dollie Mae Jordan Williams
Dollie Mae Jordan Williams, 85, of Oxford, died May 13, 2005 at her home. She was the widow of Ben Davis and Elwood Williams. She was a member of Denmark Baptist Church.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 16 at Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial was in Christian Rest cemetery in Oxford. Rev. Lamar Pickens officiated.

She leaves eight daughters, Betty Graham of Pontotoc, Hattie Drewrey, Martha Alexander, Pat Brewer, Theresa McCord, Jackie Grose, all of Oxford, Billie Wheat of Laurel, Gwen Virnig of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Landon Davis of Holly Springs, Wanzie Williams of Oxford; 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Christian Rest cemetery Fund.

James Ray Bridges
James Ray Bridges, 67, of Byhalia, died May 21, 2005 at DeSoto Baptist Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of the Pharsalia Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held on May 24 at Bethel cemetery. Rev. Dianne Lemons officiated. Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves two brothers, Dewight Bridges of Diamondhead, James Paul Bridges of Byhalia; two sisters, Margaret Nowlin of Phenix City, Ala., Sally Atkins of West Point, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel cemetery.

James Franklin Jeffries Sr.
James Franklin (Jake) Jeffries Sr., 74, of Holly Springs, died May 18, 2005 at V.A. Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Beverly Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War Conflict, a member of American Legion Post 250, and a retired construction worker with James Walton Masonry Company.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 22 at Anderson Chapel CME Church. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Joe Lester officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Freddie Holland Jeffries; two sons, Rodney A. Jeffries of Holly Springs, James Franklin Jeffries Jr. of Sparta, Ga.; five sisters, Correan Driver, Katherine Robinson, Berniece Campbell, all of Chicago, Ill., Alberta Scott of Orlando, Fla., Lenora Jeffries of Urbana, Ill.; three brothers, Robert Jeffries of Atlanta, Ga., Carl Jeffries, David Jeffries, both of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Fred Holland, Jesse J. Holland, Reginald Jackson, Robert Robinson, Clyde Driver, Fharon Hicks.

Martha Ann Leopard
Martha Ann Leopard, 73, of Byhalia, died May 22, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She was the widow of Charlie R. Leopard, a Pentecostal and a factory worker with Arthur Fulmer.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on May 24 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Antioch cemetery in Ripley.

She leaves two sons, Terry R. Leopard, Larry R. Leopard, both of Victoria; two daughters, Mary Olgie Seals of Victoria, Rachel Elaine Smith of Ripley; a brother, Simon L. Leopard of Ripley; three sisters, Ruth Sides, Josephine Cook, Etta Thomas, all of Ripley; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Nadine LaVerne Farrow Moore
Nadine LaVerne Farrow Moore, 52, of Red Banks, died May 15, 2005 at Methodist LeBohnheur Healthcare in Germantown, Tenn. She was a member of Pastors Aide committee, usher board, a 1975 graduate of Rust College, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., a former member of Greenfield Presbyterian Church in Waterford, and Newell Chapel CME Church in Victoria. She was a brazier for the Carrier Corp in Collierville, Tenn.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 19 at Bibleway Outreach Fellowship in Byhalia, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pastor Renzil Barringer officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Felix Moore Jr.; a daughter, Felicia Laverna Moore of Red Banks; a son, Felix Moore III of Red Banks; her mother, Central A. Malone Farrow of Waterford; three sisters, Bettye F. Williams of Memphis, Tenn., Mavis Johnson of Matterson, Ill., Deloris Moore of Red Banks; five brothers, Leonard Farrow, Melvin Farrow, both of Waterford, Kelon Farrow of Oxford, Jack D. Farrow of Philadelphia, Penn., Angelo S. Farrow of Washington, D.C.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Farrow; and a brother, James Farrow.

Pallbearers were Ransom Malone, Clayton Moore, Dennis Moore, Bobby R. Moore, Lionel Moore, O.C. Moore, Edgar Moore Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Kelon Farrow, Melvin Farrow, Willie Curry, Van Curry, Eddie Curry, Charles E. Moore, Jack D. Farrow, Angelo S. Farrow, Leonard Farrow, Wall D. Curry.

Clifton Odell Skelton
Clifton Odell Skelton, 73, of Holly Springs, died May 22, 2005 at his home. He was a Baptist, and was employed with Wurlitzer and Carrier. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on May 24 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rice Chapel cemetery in Lamar. Rev. Don Wilson officiated.

He leaves his wife, Lucy Nell Skelton; a son, Jimmy Dell Skelton of Collierville; a daughter, Brenda Skelton Prince of Collierville; his stepmother, Mary Astor Skelton of Holly Springs; his brother, Stephen Lee Skelton of Philpot, Ky.; two sisters, Mary Hester Skelton of Holly Springs, Irma Marie Lyles of Vinton, La.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dwight Skelton, Jamie Hailey, Brantley Morgan, C.F. Bryan, Phil Gray, Alton Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Hailey, Charles Morgan.

U. L. Davis Sr.
U. L. Davis Sr., 69, of Senatobia, died May 20, 2005 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. He was the widower of Lorene Davis, and a retired road maintenance worker.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 21 at Wyatte Community Church in Senatobia. Burial was in Harris Chapel Church cemetery in Tyro. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves five daughters, Ollie Ingram, Verna Cathey, both of Holly Springs, Mae Lena Mays, Felicia Davis, both of Senatobia, Arbella Nichols of Byhalia; five sons, U.L. Davis Jr., Joe Lee Davis, both of Senatobia, Larry Davis of Como, Almos Davis of Memphis, Wavey T. Davis of Southaven; a sister, Ollie Mae Sessom of St. Louis, Mo.; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
