Funeral services for Mr. Robert Earl Thompson, 67, were held at 1:00 P. M. Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Rev. James Boyd officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Thompson was a laborer. Mr. Thompson died Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in an auto accident on Hwy. 55 South in Hayti, Missouri.

Survivors include his mother, Bronsie Hoskins of Louisville; one son, Andrew Jobe of Houston, TX; one sister, Bronette Hardin of Inverness, MS; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Angela Linette Hibbler Knowles

Funeral services for Mrs. Angela Linette Hibbler Knowles, 25, were held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 3, 2005, at Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ in Louisville. Elder Freddie Plair officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Knowles was employed with Wal-Mart in the Customer Service department. She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ of Lousiville. Mrs. Knowles died Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at the Winston County Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin A. Knowles; parents, Willie B. and Rosie Hibbler of Louisville; two sons, Ja'Quanes and Melvin, Jr. , both of Louisville; one sister, Cartessia N. Seaborn of Birmingham, AL; and one brother, William Marcus Hibbler of Louisville.

Mr. Doris Lathaniel Evans

Funeral services for Mr. Doris Lathaniel Evans, 62, were held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Millispring M. B. Church. Dr. Vincent Coleman officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Weir, MS, Mr. Evans was a retired fire fighter. Mr. Evans died Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado.

Survivors include his wife, Sammie Sue Evans of Montrose, CO; four daughters, Julie, Doris, Ann, and Marie, all of Montrose, CO; four sons, James, Mark, Adam, and David, all of Montrose, CO; six sisters, Patricia Evans and Vergia Mae Miller of Lehall, VA, Arlene Rainer and Vernelle Fobson of Chicago, IL, Hallie Q Davis of Evanston, IL, and Vandora Ledbetter of Weir, MS; and three brothers, George Evans of Weir, MS, Carter Jr. Evans of Chicago, IL, and Woodroe Fair of New York.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie McReynolds, 95, were held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Mt. Pleasant #2 M. B. Church. Rev. Young officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Noxapater, Mrs. McReynolds died Wednesday, November 30, 2005, in Seymour, Indiana.

Survivors include her daughter, Gladys McClinton of St. Louis, MO; one son, Louis McReynolds of Seymour, IN; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Dorothy Gwin Latham White

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Latham White, 66, were held at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, December 4, 2005, at the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora. Rev. Keith Dendy and Rev. James Caffey officiated. Burial followed in Eupora City Cemetery.

A native of Webster County, Mrs. White was a retired bookkeeper at Jim's Auto Parts for 28 years. She was also a member of Union Baptist Church in Stewart, MS. Mrs. White died Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah G. "Debbie" White of Louisville; two sons, Ronnie White, Jr. of Starkville and James Stoker of Stewart; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lowell Hitt, Mike Nabors, Leon Long, Ed Baker, Jim Wright, and Rodney Cooper.

Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd McClendon, 67, were held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church in Louisville. Rev. Henry Donald, Jr. , officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mr. McClendon was a laborer and a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. Mr. McClendon died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at his residence.

Survivors include his daughter, Martha Overstreet of St. Paul, MN; four sons, Ray Charles McClendon and James Overstreet of Louisville, Michael McClendon of Preston, and Randy McClendon of Minneapolis, MN; four sisters, Carlene Fortenberry of Houston, TX, Annie Mae Gathright of Rock Island, IL, Alline Hann of Jackson, MS, and Katie B. Stewart of Rock Island, IL; three brothers, Travis McClendon of Meridian, Henry McClendon of Rock Island, IL, and Ernest McClendon of Davenport, IA; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Ms. Sallie Bell Wallace, 66, were held at 1:00 P. M. Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Louisville. Rev. Ruben Yarbrough officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Ms. Wallace was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Ms. Wallace died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at Heartfelt Hospice of Meridian.

Survivors include her sister, Charlene Cooper Collier of Harrisburg, PA; and five brothers, Beason Cooper of Louisville, Willie James Cooper of Harrisburg, PA, Charlie Junior Cooper of Memphis, TN, Joe Dan Cooper of Pascagoula, MS, and Calvin Cooper of Minneapolis, MS.

Mr. Johnson was a floral designer and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Louisville. Mr. Shiloh died Saturday, December 3, 2005, at the Winston Medical Center in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mayo Johnson of Louisville; one son, Larry L. Johnson of Norco, LA; one sister, Lilly Taylor of Kosciusko; one brother, Tommy Branning of Cleveland, MS; and two grandchildren.

Funearl services for Mrs. Mary P. Young, 89, were held at 1:00 P. M. Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville. Rev. Mark Russell officiated. Burial followed in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

A MSCW graduate, Mrs. Young blazed the trail for women in the workforce. She was Extension Home Economist for Winston County at her 1977 retirement. She was honored by the Winston County Chamber of Commerce as 1969 Woman of the Year and was recognized for her 25 years of outstanding work by local, state, and federal extension services. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville, the Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Winston County Garden Club. Mrs. Young died Saturday, December 3, 2005, at The Guardian House in Lake Charles, LA.

Survivors include her son, Edwin W. Young of Iowa, LA; one daughter, Phyllis Cade of Kathleen, GA; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ms. Carrie Alicia Pullen

Funeral services for Ms. Carrie Alicia Pullen, 28, were held at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Covenant Baptist Church in Montgomery County, MS. Rev. Jonas Home and Rev. Jerry Lawson officiated. Burial followed in Covenant Baptist Cemetery in Montgomery County, MS.

A native of Columbus and resident of Ackerman, Ms. Pullen was a offshore food caterer. She was a member of Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Ackerman but attended Covenant Baptist Church in Montgomery County. Ms. Pullen died Monday, December 5, 2005, in an auto accident on South Union Road near Ackerman.

Survivors include her son, Preston Lee Hiram Pierce III of Jackson; one daughter, Taylor Leigh Pierce of Jackson; mother, Deborah Blake of Ackerman; father and step-mother, Dennis and Jennifer Pullen of French Camp, MS; maternal grandparents, Pete and Mary Blake of Sylva, NC; paternal grandmother, Irene Van Winkel of West, MS; and step-grandparents, John and Janie Rhyne of Lexington, MS.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Mae Steele Cotton, 81, were held at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, December 11, 2005, at Shuqualak Church of God in Shuqualak, MS. Rev. Rodney Hammock officiated.

A native of Kemper County, MS, and long-time resident of Noxubee County, Mrs. Cotton died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS.

Survivors include her adopted daughter, Gloria Jean Cotton of Shuqualak, MS; and several aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Darroth Arnett (D. A.) Barham

Funeral services for Mr. Darroth Arnett (D. A. ) Barham, 92, were held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Porter Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Childs officiated. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A native of Stratton, MS, Mr. Barham was a retired dairy farmer and GM&O mechanic. He was also an air force veteran of World War II and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Barham died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Winston County Nursing Home.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Watts Barham of Louisville; one daughter, Velma Jo Money of Flowood, MS; one son, Lynn Barham of Senatobia; two sisters, Christin Reed of East Lansing, MI, and Inez Williams of Meridian, MS; two brothers, Junius Barham of Philadelphia, MS, and Gwendol Barham of Decatur, MS; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Willie Glenn Ray

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Glenn Ray, 76, were held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at Salem Independent Methodist Church near Ackerman, MS. Rev. Tim Long and Rev. James Caffey officiated. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery near Ackerman.

A native of Choctaw County and resident of Eupora, Mr. Ray was a retired auto body repairman and a member of Salem Independent Methodist Church near Ackerman. Mr. Ray died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Beverly Health Care in Eupora.

Survivors include his wife, Aria Lou Jenkins Ray of Eupora; two sons, Keith Ray of Walls, MS, and Steve Ray of Starkville, MS; one daughter, Judy Fleming of Philadelphia; one brother, Frank Ray of Ackerman; three sisters, Irene Lucas, Jo Lenore Null, and Mary Lee Ready, all of Ackerman; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Independent Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.

Mr. Ernest Gray Flora, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Gray Flora, Jr. were held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Macon Presbyterian Church in Macon. Reverend Phillip Palmertree officiated. Burial followed in Shuqualak Cemetery near Shuqualak. Mr. Flora was a prominent businessman and preservationist in Noxubee county. He was also a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and served in the US Army. Mr. Flora died Monday, May 10, 2010 at his home in Macon. Survivors include his wife Norma Bradshaw Flora, children E. Gray Flora and Norma Flora Cox, six grandchildren, and his sister Mrs. Sam Hynes, and several nieces and nephews as well as his cousin. Pallbearers were Keith Winchester, Richard Schimmel, Walter Riddell, Jay Chancellor, Jay Clark, Wayne Outz, and Richard McCann.
