William F. Elmore, Sr.
Mr. William F. Elmore, age 85, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mr. Elmore was born in Laurel, MS to the late Hobson J. and Letitia Clearman Elmore.
Mr. Elmore served his country in WWII in the Mediterranean with the United States Navy.
He transferred to Gulfport in 1957 from Meridian working for MS Power Company as a machinist.
While living in Meridian, he, a master machinist, and Dr. Rush (of Rush's hospital) developed and patented the first pinning device and technique used in orthopedics.
He retired from the power company in 1978 after 30 years of employment.
Until his health declined, he was a member of the Elks Lodge, volunteered as an Elk at the VA Hospital in Gulfport running a BINGO game for its patients, supported the local animal shelter, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Beatrice Elmore; son, Geoffrey Blayne Elmore; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his son, William "Bill" Elmore, Jr. of Gulfport; 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 10 a.m., where friends may visit one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel at 1 p.m.
Henry T. Stiglet, Jr.
Henry T. Stiglet, Jr. age 52 of Bay St. Louis, died on Saturday, December 27,2008.
Visitation from 9am-12pm on Monday December 29, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY Funeral Home, 135 W.2nd St. Pass Christian.
Service 12pm in funeral home chapel.
Burial to follow in New Delisle Cemetery.

Joseph O. Goforth, Jr., age 86 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Saturday, December 27, 2008, in Gulfport.

Leonard Dawson
Leonard LeRoy Dawson, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 26, 2008, after a short illness with cancer.
He was born in Little Falls, NJ on December 16, 1924.
His parents were Leonard LeRoy Dawon, Sr. and Marie Dessoir Dawson.
Mr. Dawson served in the United States Air Force as a pilot and later as the head of the 3393rd Instructor Squadron where he retired at Keesler Air Force Base in 1969 with the rank of Major.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all he met.
Mr. Dawson was a member of the Retired Officers Association of America and the Military Officers Association of America.
He financially supported several ministries across the United States, including the 700 Club, Operation Blessing, Prophecy in the News, Word for Living Ministries, American Center for Law and Justice, and John Hagee Ministries.
Mr. Dawson is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Donlen, and his devoted wife, Donna.
He is survived by his son, Leonard L. (Linda) Dawson, III of Crosby, TX; his daughters, Claudia (Ronnie) Gideons of Northport, AL and Cheryl (George) Black of Gulfport; his grandchildren, Lindsay Dawson and Matthew Dawson both of Crosby, TX and Shannon Black and Heather (Michael) McClantoc of Gulfport and his great granddaughter, Delaney Leigh McClantoc of Gulfport. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, from 6-8pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Biloxi, with full military honors.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Operation Blessing International, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23463.

Richard Hinkle
Mr. Richard Lewis Hinkle, 53, of Gulfport, MS died Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Hinkle was born in Cleveland, Ohio and served our country in the United States Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Doris Hinkle; daughters Yolanda Banks (Daniel) of Gulfport, Andrille Miles of Gulfport, Jeanette Frazier (Samuel) of Atlanta, GA, Grendolyn Smith (Bobby) of Gulfport; step-son, Julian Carey of Gulfport; brothers, Dale Hinkle, Kevin Hinkle, Gary Hinkle; sisters Lorrie Hinke, Jill Hinkle, Kimberly Hinkle; Grandchildren, Aaron and Andre Thompson, Nancy Thompson, Tina Weary, Tiffany Brown, Markell Miles, Stephon Smith, and Justin Smith, nieces, Francine Rosemarie Davis and Shauntae Angelia Hinkle; and nephews, James Richard Chappelle and Timothy Lymas, Jr.; and many great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS, 39503.
Friends may visit from 5pm till 8pm and service will begin at 8pm.
Myrtis Trehern
Mrs. Myrtis Johnson Trehern, age 81, of Gulfport died December 25, 2008 after a short bout with cancer.
Mrs. Trehern was born on January 1, 1927 to John Dalton and Vivian Vowell Johnson.
She was a life long resident of Gulfport, graduated from Gulfport High, attended the University of Alabama and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport.
She spent most of her career working for the federal government with the Veterans Administration in Gulfport and Biloxi and then retiring from the Naval
Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul B. Trehern; her brother, John D. Johnson, Jr.; her grandson, Randall Speck; and her stepmother, Helen Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Carol Speck and husband, Richard, of Gulfport; her son, Stephen Trehern and wife, Luanne, of Atlanta; and her sister, Sherrill Stevenson and husband, Dean, of The Villages, FL.
Also mourning her passing are her grandchildren, Allison Speck Walker and husband, Jason, of Gulfport; Lauren Trehern Orsini and husband, David; Eric Trehern, all of Atlanta; and one great grandchild, Azlyn Walker, of Gulfport.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
A private family graveside service will be held Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Randall Speck Pediatric Fund in care of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
