The couple lived in California for two years after the War before moving back to Sledge, where they resided from 1951 to 2009.
Ruth worked for Garan Manufacturing for some time before coming home to take care of her family. She was the true definition of a “Lady”. She took great pride in keeping her home and landscaping in her yard in immaculate condition. She knew and taught etiquette and made sure the members of her family always practiced the tradition.
She was an active member of Sledge First Baptist Church, singing in the Choir and playing piano. She served on as many committees as possible and especially enjoyed helping with social events and mission work.
