A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. Interemnt will be in Bayou Coco cemetery.

Edward Davis
MCHENRY -- Mr. Edward Davis, age 77 passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Mr. Davis was born
on November 28, 1928 in the Ramsey Springs Community to Willie and Eva Ramsey Davis. He was educated in the Biloxi School System. As a self-educated cement finisher for over 55 years, he worked hard to provide for his family. In 1950 he was united in matrimony to Audrey Thompson of McHenry. To this union three children were born.
At an early age, he confessed Christ and committed his life to loving and serving the Lord. He was taught by his mother many biblical scriptures which he often recited verbatim. His knowledge and interpretation of the scriptures helped to enhance and made a difference in the lives of everyone who would listen to his words of wisdom.
Edward and his late wife Audrey were faithful supporters of many financial and spiritual developments and renovations for Sunlight Baptist church, McHenry for more than 50 years. As a deacon, he was an outstanding spiritual leader and teacher. Also, for several years, he faithfully attended and later joined the Sweet Beulah Baptist Church in the Perkinston Community.
On Wednesday, November 30, 2005, two days after his 77th birthday, Edward went home to be forever with the Lord and his wife, Audrey; his parents Willie and Eva Davis, and son-in-law Mark Martin.
However, here on earth, he is survived by his son, Dr. Carl Edward Davis of Powder Springs, GA; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Davis Martin, Dr. Marie Davis-Heim (Mickey) both of McHenry; three grandsons, Patrick (Velvet) Martin of Nashville, TN, Randon Heim of McHenry, John Young of Powder Springs, GA; one granddaughter, “Miss” Kennedy Rae Martin of Nashville, TN; a half-brother, Lee (Sheila) Davis of Bond; a devoted cousin, Percy (Gerry) Oliver of Ocean Springs; a goddaughter, Dr. Catherine Thompson and children Maya and Matthew all of Wiggins; a special friend, Ms. Gertie Woodward of Perkinston; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 5, 2005 at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church in Perkinston with interment that followed at Oaklawn cemetery in McHenry.
Lockett Williams Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

BILOXI -- Mr. Jim Harris, age 85 passed away Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Mr. Harris was a retired Real Estate broker, and a member of First Baptist Church in Biloxi.
He is survived by his wife, Sybil Harris of Biloxi; a son, Dale W. Harris of Hattiesburg and a granddaughter, Megan Harris of Hattiesburg.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins with interment to follow at Woodlawn cemetery in Wiggins.

Jackie Wayne “Tex” Cuevas
HATTIESBURG -- Mr. Jackie Wayne “Tex” Cuevas, age 53 passed away Friday, December 9, 2005 in Hattiesburg. Mr. Cuevas was a native of Hancock County and a lifelong resident of the Standard Community. He was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and his laughter and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Vernalee Rester Cuevas; brother, Dennis Dan Cuevas, Jr. and a sister, Karen Faye Cuevas.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Allen Cuevas of Standard; father, Darcy Cuevas of Standard; brother Daniel Cuevas of Standard; sister, Susan Necaise of Standard and Vernell Hoda of Kiln.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 12, 2005 at Wolf Creek Baptist Church with interment that followed at Wolf Creek cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
