Lois Presley Ware
Lois Presley Ware, 97, of Clinton, died March 24, 2005 at Care Center of Clinton.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street, with burial following at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ware was born
in Canton on Sept. 2, 1907.
She resided in Jackson and Carthage most of her adult life until she moved to the Care Center of Clinton in June, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, June A. Pace.
Karen Bounds Hamilton
Karen Bounds Hamilton, 48, of Newton, died March 25, 2005 from complications of diabetes.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Webb Chapel, with Rev. Curtis Cain and Rev. Tom Sorrell officiating.
She was born
in Mobile, AL on Oct. 17, 1956, and moved to Newton at an early age.
She was a lifelong resident in Newton and attended Newton City School before graduating at Leake Academy, where she was a cheerleader.
She held a Design Degree from Bauder Fashion College in Arlington, Texas.
Later she attended East Central Community College and graduated from Meridian Community College with a Nursing Degree.
She was a member of Newton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include Fred Hamilton, Newton; a daughter, Heather Taylor, Meridian; and a brother, Bo Bounds, Laurel.
Penny Lynn Chamblee
Penny Lynn Chamblee, 42, of Harperville, died March 21, 2005 at University Medical Center.
Services were at 2 p.m. March 24 at Walnut Grove Pentecostal Church.
Burial was in Lindsey cemetery, with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Dewayne Chamblee; five sons, Larry Chamblee and Daniel Chamblee, both of Carthage, Tim Chamblee, Farmhaven, Joshua Chamblee and Joseph Chamblee, both of Harperville; her father, Rayford, Page, Harperville; six daughters, Amanda Wright, Loretta Johnson, and Heather Chamblee, all of Carthage, Deanna Chamblee, Kaitlyn Chamblee and Angel Chamblee, all of Harperville; five brothers, Dewayne Page, Harperville, Bruce Page, Jason Page and Richard Page, all of Forest, Chris Page, Magee; five sisters, Lisa Chamblee,
Carthage, Lanette Boatner, Jackson, Rachel Holton, Lake, Stacy Thrash and Janice Page, Harperville.
Roselia H. Wilbanks
Roselia H. Wilbanks, 88, of Carthage, died March 28, 2005 at Leake Memorial Hospital.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Adams and Rev. Randolph Scott officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, at Lawrence County Memorial cemetery in Hoxie, AR.
A native of Walnut Ridge, Ark., she was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her husband, Vance Wilbanks, Carthage; a son, Scott Wilbanks, Carthage; three daughters, Jan Barton, Pensacola, FL, Mary Carnes, Jonesboro, AR, and Frances Bryan, Carthage; five step-daughters, Shirley, Linda, Nancy, Becky and Sandra; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Dudley Smith
Dudley Smith, 82, of Brandon, died March 28, 2005 at the G.V.Sonny Montgomery Veterans Hospital after a lengthy battle with heart disease.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Culpepper Funeral Home.
Burial was at Pearl Hill cemetery in Leake County.
Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1950 with a BS Degree in business administration.
He was Office Business Manager of Madison General Hospital until he became disabled at the age of 59.
He was a lifetime deacon and served as Sunday School Director and other leadership positions of Central Terrace Baptist Church.
In 1994, the Smiths sold their home in Canton and moved to the Reservoir area where they were members of Pinelake Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joyce Watkins Smith, Brandon; a daughter, Kyra Gordon, Brandon; a son, Reggie Smith, Brandon; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chuck Buffington, Joe Moser, Rob Porch, Chris Sartin, Jack Magee and Dale Russell.
Robert Sanders
SGM (Ret) Robert Sanders, 81, of Killeen, TX, died March 25, 2005 at A Temple Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. March 30 at Harper-Talasek Chapel in Killeen, TX with Father Adam Martinez Alphonse officiating.
A native of Mansfield, Texas, he served in the European Theater during WWII and the Vietnam War, also serving in Korea and Japan during his career.
He was a member of the retired Sergeant Major Association, the VFW #9192 and the Bob Gilmore Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include his wife, Hermine (Mimi) Sanders, Killeen, TX; two daughters, Sandra McClelland, Gloversville, NY, Helen Moss and Roberta Knight, Austin, TX; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Levon Turner
Levon Turner, 65, of Edinburg, died Oct. 18, 2004 at Montfort Jones Hospital in Kosciusko.
He was a retired construction worker.
Services were at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at First Baptist Church inEdinburg, with Rev. Billy Henry officiating.
Burial was in Wilcher cemetery, with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A native Leake countian, where he lived most of his life, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a 100 percent Disabled American Veteran.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edinburg.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Turner, Edinburg; two daughters, Regina Thornton and Tina Smith, both of Edinburg; two sons, Ronny Turner, Edinburg, and Tim Turner, Sallis; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers were Clint Wilcher, Bo Surber, Johnny Smith, Kent Sistrunk, Steve Thornton, Tommy Sally, Richard Bobo, Bobby Quick, Kent Wilcher and Mark Henry.
Onie M. Trapp
Funeral services for Onie Mae Trapp, 91, were held Friday at11 a.m. from High Hill Baptist Church.
Rev. Ray Files and Rev. Randy Culpepper officiated.
Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Mrs. Trapp died Oct. 20, 2004 at her home.
A native of Neshoba County, she was a longtime resident ofthe Hays community.
She worked as an inspector at Midland Shirt Factory in Union for several years.
Mrs. Trapp was a member of High Hill Baptist Church where she was a former songleader.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeffie Trapp, Philadelphia; a son, Felton Trapp, Philadelphia; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rory Trapp, Mark Dye, Bert Gilmore, Billy Paul Davidson, Wayne Gilmore and Johnny Wilson.
Coreana Sanders Jackson
Coreana Sanders Jackson, 70, of Carthage, died Oct. 19, 2004 at Leake Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, with Bro. Eddie Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Christian Union M.B. cemetery, under the direction on Myricks Funeral Home.
A native Leake countian, she was of the Jehovah Witness faith.
Survivors include five sons, Lee McMurty, Milwaukee, WI, Patrick Gaddis, Las Vegas, Nev., Larry Hughes, Palmyra, NY, Leon Jackson, Carthage, and Johnny Jackson, two daughters, Coella Jackson and Christine Jackson, both of Carthage; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Imogene Ward Beckham
Funeral services for Imogene Ward Beckham, 77, of Philadelphia, were held at 2 p.m. Monday from Bethsaida Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy James and Rev. Jerry Guess officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beckham died Friday, October 22, 2004 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Neshoba County, she was a longtime resident of Carthage before moving to the Tucker Community 10 years ago.
She was a retired food service manager for Carthage HealthCare Center and was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Jayroe, Philadelphia; two sons, Gerald Keith Beckham, Hattiesburg, and Barry Beckham, Jonesville, LA; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Claude Ward, Philadelphia; and three sisters, Elmer Hicks and Dee Tullos, both of Vicksburg, and Bernice Walls, Meridian.
Pallbearers were Leon Powell, Jerry Eakin, Wayne Beckham, James Beckham, Bobby Tullos, Joe Beckham, Franklin Hicks, Clemit Tullos and John Hicks.
