Batesville, MS - Necy Turner Tedford Edwards, 84, of Batesville, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at her residence.
Services were Thursday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery in Batesville. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Edwards, born
Nov. 11, 1919, to George W. and Sallie Bellview Turner, was a private duty nurse and a member of Crowder Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sallie Mae Harper of Cypress Inn, Tenn. and Miriam Tedford Stroupe of Pope; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son James Ray Tedford; one daughter Martha Louise Tedford; and her husband Robert Edwards.
Edwards, William C.
Como, Miss. - William C. Edwards, 56, of Como, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at his residence.
Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Simon Chapel #2 M.B. Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge.
Edwards was a farmer and a member of Hunters Chapel M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother Bullie Edwards.
Survivors include his mother Gracie Edwards of Como; one daughter Tina Fairley of Como; four sons, William Dishmon, William Hardin, Ketric Gardner and Terry Gardner, all of Como; seven sisters, Minnie Carlton of Memphis, Tenn., Emma Edwards, Gracie Mae Edwards and Mildred Crawford, all of Sardis, Ruthie Faulkner and Renetha Faulkner, both of Senatobia and Bobbie Legge of Batesville; two brothers, Jimmy Edwards and Bemis Edwards, both of Como and nine grandchildren.
Egbert, Bertha Dell Fisher
Bertha Dell Fisher Egbert, 73, of Batesville, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at her residence of heart failure.
Services were Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Batesville. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery in Batesville. Rev. Don Bishop and Rev. Martin Case officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Egbert, born
Sept. 27, 1930, to the late Julia Lucille Smith and the late Benjamin Franklin Fisher Jr., was a homemaker, a member of the Hospital Auxillary, a present member of Reach to Recovery and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband John Ralph Egbert of Batesville; two sons, Ralph Myer Egbert of Batesville and John Chester Egbert of Moss Point; one brother Walter Fisher of Taylorsville; one sister Martha Knight of Brundidge, Ala.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son Larry Thomas Egbert.
Ellis, Carey Dean
Crowder, MS - Carey Dean Ellis, 67, of Crowder, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at VA Medical Center in Memphis of heart failure.
Services were Monday at Crowder Assembly of God. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Murphy Eubanks officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
Ellis, born
June 13, 1936, was a member of Crowder Assembly of God and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired contractor.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorri Brooks and Cheryl Self, both of Crowder; two brothers, Maurice " Sonny" Ellis of Enon and Gerald Ellis of Southaven; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Joyce Bridges Ellis and one daughter Deborah Joyce Steadman.
Epps, Vivian Jean Hammond
Vivian Jean Hammond Epps, 41, of Senatobia, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Baptist Desoto in Southaven.
Services were Saturday at Zion Hill M.B. Church of Senatobia. Burial was in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.
Epps was a member of the church's choir and Sunday School class. She enjoyed working with the church youth and church missionary.
Survivors include her husband Jake Epps Jr.; one daughter Lavondra N. Hammond of Senatobia; her parents, Joe Willie and Maude Eva Walker; two sisters, Cynthia Rayborn of Horn Lake and Ericur Avery of Mansfield, Ohio; and two brothers, Dennis Hammond and Menzie Walker, both of Senatobia.
Exson, Larry Clark "L.C."
Larry Clark "L.C." Exson, 61, of Oakland, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services were Tuesday at Mount Mariah District Association Center in Coffeeville. Burial was in Philadelphia cemetery in Oakland. Rev. Johnny Dumas officiated. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

March 10, 1943, to the late Lell and the late Olliebell Phillips Exson, was a farmer and a member of Robinson Chapel C.M.E. Church of Oakland.
Survivors include his wife Jannie C. Exson of Oakland; five daughters, Dorothy Triplett, Hazel Exson, Tracy Exson and Helen Exson, all of Oakland and Mary Taylor of Coffeeville; one brother Thomas Exson of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Eula Taylor, Alberta Benson and Emma Williams, all of Oakland and Izell Frost of St. Louis, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Willie C. Farmer, 80, of Sardis, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at his residence.
Services are Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Morris M.B. Church in Sardis. Visitation is tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery of Morris M.B. Church. Rev. L.H. Harris will officiate. Henderson Funeral Home has charge.

Sept. 8, 1923, to the late Alsia Farmer and late Bay Cox, was a member of Morris Chapel M.B. Church in Sardis.
Survivors included his wife Bessie Farmer of Sardis; eight daughters, Mary Shorter, Emma Roberson, Katie Gross and Bonnie Lamar, all of Sardis, Fannie Farmer, Earlie Mae Farmer and Terry Washington, all of Milwaukee, Wis. and Josephine Jackson of Como; two sons, Roy Young and Mack A. Gerald Faulkner, 57, of Abbeville, died Jan. 28, 2004, at his residence of natural causes.
Services are Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at Springfield M.B. Church in Abbeville. Visitation is Tuesday Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Burial will be at Mount Vernon cemetery in Abbeville. Rev. Jerry Malone will officiate. Eddie Robinson & Son Funeral Home has charge.

Batesville, Miss. - James Edward "Ben" Faulkner, 88, of Batesville, died Friday, August 27, 2004, at V.A. Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. of heart failure.

Feb. 24, 1916, to the late James Ransom and the late Ada Christine Kiihnl Faulkner, was a retired auto mechanic, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Batesville Church of Christ.
Services were Sunday at the Batesville Church of Christ. Burial was at Magnolia cemetery. Mr. Robert Rawson and Mr. Michael Bates officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Survivors include his wife Helen Clark Faulkner of Batesville; one daughter Cordelia Faulkner Kelper of Batesville; one son James Edward Faulkner of Mt. Pleasant; one nephew Preston Faulkner of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ferrell, Jessie Sr.
Jessie Ferrell Sr., 59, of Batesville, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at his residence.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Spring Hill ASA M.B. Church in Courtland. Burial was in Spring Hill ASA cemetery. Rev. Louis Wilson officiated. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

Aug. 6, 1944, to the late Chester and Famous Ferrell, was a forklift driver for Batesville Compress where he worked for 24 years. He was also a former employee of Staplcotn and a member of Spring Hill ASA M.B. Church.

Willie Ferrell of Batesville; his mother Famous Ferrell of Courtland, four sons, Jessie Ferrell Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Curtis Ferrell, Roy Ferrell and Terry Ferrell, all of Batesville; five daughters, Barbara Ann Smith, Vanessa Ferrell, Mary Ferrell, Darlene Hubbard and Patricia Ferrell, all of Batesville; three sisters, Joyce Brown of Memphis, Mary Ferrell of Chicago, Ill. and Lela Norwood of Batesville; six brothers, Tony Ferrell of Cleveland, Ohio, Willie Ferrell, James Ferrell, Terry Ferrell, Perry Ferrell and Rickey Ferrell, all of Batesville; and 11 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband W.E. Flippo.

Rosa Leigh Pou Florence, 83, of Courtland, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at her residence.
Services were Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Pope Baptist Church in Pope. Burial was in Chapel Hill cemetery in Pope. Rev. Allen Mullen officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Florence, born
Aug. 16, 1920, to the late Gavin Henry Pou and the late Katie Leigh Pou, graduated from Ms State College for Women and became a school teacher. She was a member of the Pope Baptist Church and The Womans Club.
Survivors include one son Tommy Florence of Courtland; one daughter Margaret Barnhart of Atalissa, Iowa.; one sister Katherine Weeks of Hernando; and six grandchildren.
