BATESVILLE - Ruth L. Staley, 82, formerly of Desoto County, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Southaven.

WRENN, Alyssa Ann
HORN LAKE - Alyssa Ann Wrenn; 16 hours and 43 minutes old, died Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Baptist Women's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Services will be held Saturday, February 11, at 2 p.m. at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Southaven.

Survivors include her parents, Keith and Melissa Wrenn of Horn Lake; her aunts, Melanie Wrenn and Ginny Wrenn both of Southaven, and one uncle, Will Moak of Sardis.

Survivors also include her grandparents, Steve and Teresa Wrenn of Southaven and Denise Moak of Sardis, and great - grandparents Neil and Anne Wrenn of Grenada, Frank and Josie Cannon of Covington, and Ella Jean Herring of Sardis.

APPLEWHITE, Claude Raymond
MARKS - Claude Raymond Applewhite, 70, died Saturday, April 29, 2006.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Visitation is also today from noon to 2 p.m. Rev. Mike Dutton will officiate. Burial will be in Lambert cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.

Applewhite, born icon Dec. 31, 1935, to the late Pete Applewhite and the late Georgia Branun Applewhite, was a Baptist.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Applewhite, William Maurice Applewhite and George Applewhite, and one sister, Louise Applewhite Reynolds.

Survivors include two sisters, Thelma Pindo of Benton, Ark., Lois Roberson of Waco, Texas; one brother, Roy Appleton of Jacksbro, Texas; a niece who cared for him, Ruth Applewhite Colson and a nephew who cared for him, Billy Applewhite Sr. of Crowder.

BRASHER, Jack Riley
BATESVILLE - Jack Riley Brasher, the infant son of John and Emily Jenkins Brasher, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Baptist Hospital North Mississippi.

Services were Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Greg Johnston officiated. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors, along with his parents, include his grandparents, Gil Jolley and Becky Duke Jenkins Jolley of Batesville and John Brasher and the late Joan Brasher of Batesville.

BURFORD, Ann Elizabeth Bridges
INDEPENDENCE - Ann Elizabeth Bridges Burford, 85, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Baptist Desoto Hospital.

Services were Saturday at Independence United Methodist Church. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery. Rev. Douglas "B.B." Watson officiated. Pate - Jones Funeral Home had charge.

Burford was a retail sales manager with Field Enterprises and a member of Independence United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cal Burford Sr.

Survivors include one daughter, Rita Burford Herron of Batesville; one son, John Cal Burford Jr. of Independence; four grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.

KEY, Charles R.
WATERFORD - Charles R. Key, 59, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Services were Saturday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Raymond Paisley officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Key, born icon Oct. 6, 1946, to the late Benjamin and Joyce Holt Key, worked in the maintenance department for Hughes Plumbing Company of Byhalia.

Survivors include three daughters, Melisa Key of Memphis, Becky Key and Denise Camp, both of Waterford; two sons, James H. Key and Charles R. Key Jr., both of Waterford; one sister, Brenda Key Bondurant of Horn Lake and four grandchildren.

MURPHY, Barbara Ann
HAZLEHURST - Barbara Ann Murphy, 44, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Shiloh M.B. Church. Rev. Carl Brown will officiate. Visitation is today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley's Mortuary. Burial will be in Antioch cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Murphy, born icon Aug. 19, 1961, in Pope to the late Lloyd Reed and the late Clarine Ladd, was a member of Shiloh M.B. Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Jean Murphy of Jackson; one son, Michael Murphy of Batesville; one sister Hattie Reed of Courtland and three brothers, Cleveland Reed of Courtland, James Reed of Lambert and David Reed of Flora.

OLIPHANT, Clara Mae Young
SARDIS - Clara Mae Young Oliphant, 70, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Services were Saturday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Fredonia cemetery. Rev. Robert Smith officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Oliphant, born icon Aug. 12, 1935, to the late Raymond and Flossie Taylor Young in Como, was a member of Como Baptist Church and a retired nurses aid.

Survivors include two sons, Don Berry of Watervliet, Mich. and Joel "Mike" Covington of Sardis; one sister, Daisy Faye Smith of Oakland; six grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

PRUITT, Annie Viola
BATESVILLE - Annie Viola Pruitt, 84, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Tri - Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Sunday at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Burial was in Shelby cemetery. Rev. Charles Locke officiated. National Funeral Home had charge.

Pruitt, born icon June 25, 1921, in Tupelo to the late Joe Abe Hankins and the late Ludie Mae Green Hankins, was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Doyle Pruitt, one son, Jesse Doyle Pruitt Jr., five sisters and one brother.

Survivors include one brother, Curtis Hankins of Texas; five daughters, JoAnn Golden of Marks, Joyce Miller of Elkhart, Ind., Faye Cobb of Batesville, Gaynell Emery of Water Valley and Charlotte Sullivan of Pope; five sons, Homer Baker of Pontotoc, Wayne Baker of Mantachie, Paul Pruitt of Marks, Robert Pruitt of Tutwiler and Rodney Pruitt of Marks; 19 grandchildren, 31 great - grandchildren and four great - great - grandchildren.

REED, Terrence Leslie
ENID - Terrence Leslie Reed, 63, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at his residence.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home has charge.

Reed, born icon July 24, 1942, was a retired printer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelley Matthews Reed of Enid.

Survivors include two daughters, Tawnya Pullen of Oak Grove, Mo. and Hollee Toland of Enid; one sister, Barbara Redd of Downey, Calif and five grandchildren.

WILKINS, Henry Michael "Mike"
BATESVILLE - Henry Michael "Mike" Wilkins, 53, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at his residence.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rusty Fair will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Wilkins, born icon March 13, 1953, to the late Wayne Powell and Ethma Lucille Austin Wilkins, was the owner of W & W Electric Company of Batesville.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Denise Hudson Wilkins of Batesville; one daughter, Brittany Leigh Wilkins of Batesville; one son, Eric Michael Wilkins of Batesville; one sister, Sue Wilkins Garner of Jackson and two brothers, Ken Wilkins of of Oxford and Barry Wilkins of Jackson.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis.

DOYLE, John E.
COMO - John E. Doyle, 49, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at his residence.

Services were Thursday at Cherry Street M.B. Church in Como. Burial was in Braham Chapel Church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Doyle was a factory worker.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Doyle; two daughters, Stephanie Doyle and Katoria Doyle, both of Memphis; one step - daughter, Tamara Stevenson of Memphis; two sons, Angelo Doyle and Demario Stevenson, both of Memphis; his father, Eddie Doyle of Como; three sisters, Mary Young of Como, Dorothy Patterson of Memphis and Erma Echols of Como; three brothers, Robert Mayes and Rodger Doyle, both of Como and Eddie Doyle Jr. of Senatobia and five grandchildren.
