PETROVICH, Connie
BATESVILLE - - Connie Petrovich, 88, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare of heart failure.

Mass services were Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Sam Messina officiated. Burial is today at 2 p.m. in North Hampton Memorial Shrine in Easton, Pa. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Petrovich, born icon Sept. 10, 1916, to the late Louis S. and Mary Semeraglia Pecora of West Hazelton, Pa., was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was employed in the food service industry.

Survivors include one daughter Letitia P. Davis of Pope; one sister Letitia Yaworski of Easton, Pa. and two brothers, Joseph Pecora of Bethlehem, Pa. and Louis Pecora of Santa Ana, Calif.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church building fund.

RICHARDSON, Nancy C.
BATESVILLE - - Nancy C. Richardson, 79, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Tri - Lakes Medical Center of natural causes.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home, and on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Power House Church of God in Christ. Burial will be in Pope Chapel cemetery. Eddie Robinson Funeral Home has charge.

Richardson was a homemaker and a member of Power House Church of God in Christ.

SCROGGINS, Jessie Bell
OXFORD - - Jessie Bell Scroggins, 60, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in her residence of heart failure.

Memorial services are Monday, March 21, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Scroggins, born icon Aug. 20, 1944 in Trimble, Tenn., to the late Wilson and Pauline Hallmark Scroggins, was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Perry Sattazahn and Lonita Perry Toombs, both of Memphis, and Gerry Jo Perry Blaylock of Southaven; one son John W. Perry of Enid; three sisters, Mary Scroggins McGregor of Batesville, Peggy Scroggins O'Neal of Memphis, and Cathleen Scroggins of Holly Springs; one brother Sonny Scroggins of Holly Springs, and 14 grandchildren.

WALKER, Lula Jo Darby
BATESVILLE - - Lula Jo Darby Walker, 52, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, in her residence.

Services were Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terry Tribble officiated. Burial was in Center Hill cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Walker, born icon Sept. 16, 1952, to the late Phillip and Jessie Stafford Darby, was a member of North Batesville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one brother Bill Darby.

Survivors include one daughter Marissa Lott Milam of Batesville; two sons, Joey Lott of Southaven and Mark Lott of Batesville; 10 sisters, Nancy Ginn, Kathy Tribble, Susan Cook, Helen Pitcock, Betty Perry and Tina Woodard, all of Batesville, Melissa Darby, Reba Polson and Linda Mills, all of Courtland and Sandra Wood of Walnut; three brothers, Casey Darby of Batesville, Phillip Darby and Nolan Darby, all of Courtland and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wells Funeral Home, 340 Hwy. 35 North, Batesville.

HARRIS, Nathaniel
MEMPHIS - - Nathaniel Harris, 36, formerly of Sardis, died March 28, 2005, at his residence.

Services are today at 1 p.m. at Askew Grove M.B. Church. Rev. Lacy Reed will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Longtown. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home has charge.

Harris was a mechanic.

Survivors include his parents, Freddie Harris and Annie Mae Fuller.

Huff, Gladys Gray
BATESVILLE - - Gladys Gray Huff, 97, a native of Carroll County, and a resident of Beverly Healthcare in Batesville since 2002, died Friday, March 25, 2005.

She was a member of the Old Union Church of Christ in Carrollton and a retired school teacher. She is survived by two great - nephews, Reeves Hughes III of Frenchtown, N.J., and Tom Hughes of Hernando.

A graveside service was held March 26 at the Old Union cemetery in rural Carrollton. Williams and Lord Funeral Home of Greenwood had charge.

Roebuck, George Lamar
POPE - - George Lamar Roebuck, 72, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Leflore County Hospital in Greenwood.

Services were Saturday at Dickins Chapel with the Rev. Bobby White officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill cemetery in Pope. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Roebuck, born icon April 26, 1932, in Pope to the late Dalton Lamar Roebuck and the late Jennie Victoria Leighton Roebuck, was a construction worker, a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church and a veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife Syble Roebuck.

Survivors include two sons, Rickey Lamar Roebuck and Robert Lee Roebuck, both of Pope; one daughter Victoria Lynn Eidson of Pope; six grandchildren and one great - grandchild.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Chapel Hill cemetery, c/o Helen Bell, 2849 B Pope - Water Valley Rd., Pope, Miss. 38658.

Tidwell, James "Jim" Burford Jr.
CROWDER - - James "Jim" Burford Tidwell Jr., 51, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Quitman County Hospital in Marks.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Crowder Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Kilgore will officiate. Burial will be in the Crowder cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Tidwell, born icon June 25, 1953, in Batesville to the late James Burford Tidwell Sr. and Edna Louise Henry Tidwell of Courtland, was a member of Crowder Baptist Church and a chemical supervisor for Floyd Fire.

Survivors, along with his mother, include his wife Barbara Elmore Tidwell of Crowder; one son James "Tripp" Burford Tidwell III of Auburn, Ala.; two daughters, April Dawn Harp and Barbara Ann Tidwell Burgess, both of Texas; one sister Belle Haire of Batesville and three grandchildren.

Trusty, Aubrey W.
WATER VALLEY - Aubrey Wayne Trusty, 100, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at his home. He was the father of Batesville attorney William "Bill" Edrington Trusty. Memorial services were held Saturday, March 26, 2005, at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Water Valley.

Trusty, son of the late William Thad and Nellie Williamson Trusty, was born icon on December 31, 1904, at Pine Valley. He graduated from Water Valley High School and earned a B.S. degree from Mississippi College in 1925. He pursued a 35 - year career as chief chemist with City Service Oil Company in Shreveport, La., before establishing his company, Trusty Petroleum Lab, three years prior to his retirement in 1962. For over 10 years, he taught a petroleum refining night class at Centenary College.

During the years that Mr. and Mrs. Trusty lived in Shreveport, they were members of First United Methodist Church, where they served as co - superintendents of the youth division for 33 years. Active in scouting, Mr. Trusty received the "Order of the Arrow" Award and his troop merited six Eagle Scout designations one year. When they returned to Water Valley in 1962, the Shreveport Church dedicated the Trusty Prayer Chapel to them.

He served as chairman of the official board of the Water Valley First United Methodist Church for two years and was elected a lifetime board member. Mr. Trusty also served as a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. In 1979, he joined a church work team to Haiti.

Active in civic organizations, he was executive director of Water Valley Housing Authority from 1968 - 69 and served as a commissioner from 1967 - 1975. The Trustys were selected Parade Marshals of the 1995 Water Valley Christmas Parade.

In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife of 79 years, Corinne Edrington Trusty of Water Valley, one daughter, Nettie Nell Richmond of Water Valley; a brother, William Thad Trusty, Jr. of Water Valley; five grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three sisters, Erma Kate Trusty Gafford, Thelma Trusty Guyton, and Virginia Trusty Bray; and one brother, Claude Benson Trusty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Children Ministries or Youth Fund at First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 288, Water Valley, Miss. 38965.

Weaver, Charles Herbert
MARKS - - Charles Herbert Weaver, 63, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Quitman County Hospital in Marks of heart failure.

Services were Thursday, March 31 at First United Pentecostal Church in Marks. Rev. Harold Smith officiated. Burial was in Crowder cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Weaver, born icon Aug. 16, 1941, in Marks, was a member of First United Pentecostal Church and a retired heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Smith and Christie Block, both of Vidor, Texas; two sons, Shannon Weaver of Marks and Scotty Weaver of Enid; one brother Enos Weaver of Longtown; three sisters, Glynda Franklin, Patricia Jones and Brenda Pittman, all of Marks; nine grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

ANTHONY, Hayden E.
POPE - Hayden E. Anthony, 84, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Pope. Rev. Roger Richards and Rev. Sam Godfrey will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Anthony, born icon Dec. 18, 1920, to the late Lois Harold and the late Elise Flowers Anthony, was a retired meat cutter at Shaw's Meat Market in Grenada, was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was a Shriner. He was also a Mason of the Panola Lodge #66 and served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Agnes Anthony Allen and Debbi Anthony Allday, both of Pope; two sisters, Bernice Anthony Crouch of Bruce and Sarah Anthony Harris of Millington, Tenn.; six grandchildren and 14 great - grandchildren.

EUBANKS, Marjorie Bumgardner
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Marjorie Bumgardner Eubanks, 79, formerly of Batesville, died Monday, August 22, 2005, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Graveside services were Wednesday at Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Rev. Russell Fletcher officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Eubanks, born icon June 11, 1929, to the late Walter Bumgardner and the late Buelah Mills Bumgardner, was a retired accountant.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Holst and Sandra Barksdale, both of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother Paul Bumgardner of Athens, Ala.; two sisters, Lucille Downer of Oxford and Doris Vaughn of Mt. Olivet; three grandchildren and five great - grandchildren.
