Mary Virginia Moudy, 63, of Batesville, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at her residence of heart failure.
Services are Saturday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. The body will be cremated. Rev. Moses Atwood will officiate. Visitation is 10 a.m. until service time. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

May 13, 1940, to the late Jessie and the late Bessie Waldrop Peyton, was a retired factory worker and a member of Blackjack Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter Brenda Henry of Batesville; one son Jackie Cleveland of Batesville; one sister Juanita Middleton of Olive Branch; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Murphree, Thelma
Thelma Murphree, 96, of Sardis, died Thursday, September 18, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of a stroke.
Graveside services were Saturday at Rose Hill cemetery. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Hal Johnson officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

April 8, 1907, to the late John H. Bodry Crenshaw and the late Stella Lowry Bodry, was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her two husbands, Richard Gallaway and D.H. Murphree.
Survivors include one son John Crenshaw of Sardis; one step-sister Mary Gail Wood of Kerrville, Texas; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Myers, Clara Finnie Watters
Clara Finnie Watters Myers, 88, of Troy, Ala., died Thursday, May 15, 2003.
Services were Sunday at Troy First Baptist Church. Burial was at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy, Ala. Dillard Funeral Home had charge.
Myers, born
June 1, 1914, to the late Henry and Lola Finnie, was a nurse in Troy for over 26 years, among her nursing experience working in intensive care at Edge Memorial Hospital, she was also an office nurse for Dr. J.A. Brantley, she also spent many summers volunteering as camp nurse at Baptist summer camps in California, Colorado and Washington.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J. Watters, second husband, Wilbur Myers and son, Bob Watters.
Survivors include one daughter Lola McGuffey and son-in-law Jerry McGuffey of Conyers, Ga.; one son Thomas Watters of Montgomery, Ala.; six grandchildren, Catherine Williamson Strickland of LaGrange, Ga., Craig P. Williamson of Portland, Ore., Christine Williamson Williams and David of Weston, Fla., Teresa H. Davis of Cincinatti, Ohio, Jeffery S. Davis and Rina of Cincinatti, Ohio, Jennifer and Mike Watters of Denver, Colo. and five great-grandchildren, Hope and Carley Strickland of LaGrange, Ga., and Baxley and Alexander Williamson of Weston, Fla.

Larry Nolan Lucas, 51, died Jan. 26, 2003, in Beverly Healthcare, Batesville of cancer.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Batesville followed by cremation.
Rev. Wes Sherman and Rev. Allen Parnell will conduct the services. Visitation will be Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. Dickens Funeral Home is in charge.
Lucas, born
Oct. 17, 1951, in Sardis to the late Samuel L. Lucas and Violet Rutherford Lucas, was a construction worker and member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Anthony Lucas of Calif.; two daughters, Danielle Dyer of Arkansas and Ashley Lucas of California.; three brothers, Grady Lucas, Dewayne Lucas, and Tony Lucas, all of Batesville. He was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Gregory Lucas, and by one sister Evelyn Doriott.

Ester Madison Parker, 65, of Memphis, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at Grandview Health Care Center in Grenada.
Services were Monday at Mt. Zion M.B. Church. Burial was at Second Concord cemetery. Rev. Charlie McBride officiated. Cooley's Mortuary had charge.

Madison of Batesville; one adopted son Terrell Jabar Freeman of Memphis; two foster sons, Chester Rook of Henning, Tenn. and Derell Jefferson of Memphis; one brother Lloyd Wiley of Bartlett; two sisters, Dorothy Palmer and Mary Jones, both of Chicago; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Janie Sue McCarty Partain, 80, of Nesbit, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at Delta Medical Center in Memphis.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Paslay.
Survivors include one son, John H. Paslay of Lancaster, Texas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Winnie Janet Pearson, 70, of Elliott, died Monday, February 24, at Kilmichael Hospital in Kilmichael.
Services will be Friday, February 28, at Olivar Chapel in Winona. Rev. W.G. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Scotland cemetery in Winona. Olivar Funeral Home of Winona has charge.
Pearson was a member of the Lyon Baptist Church in Lyon, and a registered nurse.

Pearson, Jr. of Horn Lake, Shane Pearson of Brandon, and Marion Lee Pearson of Batesville; two sisters, Marie Thornburg of Tucson, Ariz. and Mae Reid of Tylertown; two brothers, Walter Madison Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Donald Smith of Columbus, Roy Smith of McAlester, Okla. and Delton C. Smith of Newport, Tenn; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Andrew "Andy" E. Peternell, 91, of Cordova, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Cordova Rehabilitation Center of heart failure.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Kay Peternell Dohogne of Memphis, Tenn; two sons, James Andrew Peternell of Dundedin, Fla., and Hal Timothy Peternell of Olive Branch; one half-sister, Dorothy Ann Peternell of Topeka, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
