Johnnie Rachel Flanagan
(June 19, 1936 - July 20, 2013)
Funeral services for Johnnie Rachel Flanagan of Kilmichael will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at Kilmichael Baptist Church, with burial following in Friendship cemetery in Kilmichael. Rev. Gary Jackson will officiate the services.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time on Tuesday at Kilmichael Baptist Church.
Mrs. Flanagan died of heart failure at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo on Saturday, July 20. She was 77 years old.
Mrs. Flanagan was the daughter of the late John and Hester Woodruff Floyd and the widow of the late Cletuce R. Flanagan. She was a retired teacher and a member of Kilmichael Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class at Kilmichael Baptist Church and a member of the MRPEA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Racine Floyd, and two brothers, James F. Floyd and Hubert Floyd.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice R. Hodges of Eupora; two sons, Barry Flanagan of Blue Springs and Rudy Flanagan of Kilmichael; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Dorris Lee Bailey
(February 26, 1936 - May 28, 2015)
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorris Lee Bailey of Amory, formerly of Winona, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Shiloh cemetery near Duck Hill. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bailey, 79, died at Golden Living Center in Eupora on Thursday, May 28.
She was born
in Belton, Texas, on February 26, 1936, to the late George and Inalea Potter Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church near Duck Hill. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, reading, gospel music, and watching the Atlanta Braves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bailey Sr.; daughter, Debra Stevens; and grandson, E. B. Bailey.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Marie Bell (Carl) of Amory and Sherrie Bailey of Prosperity, SC; sons, David Lee Bailey (Angela) of Winona and Earl Bailey Jr. (Dyna) of Homestead; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ralph and Dianne Pullens.
Pallbearers will be Brianna Bailey, Elizabeth Stevens, Wesley Matthew, Marshall Bell, Alton Stevens, and Perry Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Bailey's great-grandchildren.
Thomas Carl "T. C." Jones
(February 7, 1925 - January 18, 2016)
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Carl "T.C." Jones of Carrollton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, at the Grenada Church of God, with burial following in the Bethlehem cemetery near Bentley in Calhoun County. Bro. James McElroy will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Saturday at the church, from 12:00 noon until service time.
Mr. Jones, 90, died at Winona Manor on Monday, January 18. He was born
in Calhoun County on February 7, 1925, to Thomas J. and Josephine Johnson Jones. He was a retired body shop owner, farmer, and professional coon dog hunter, and was the owner of Cedar Hill Kennels and a member of the Blue Tick Association. He was a member of Eskridge Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Gloria Jones; brother, Lonnie Jones; and two sisters, Laurine Jones Hoffman and Betty Jones Kendrick.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Jones of Carrollton; daughter, Sharon Campbell (C.W.) of Oxford; stepsons, Tim Corley of Carrollton and Jerry Corley of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Coby Campbell and Maggie Campbell Vandever (Taylor); one great-grandchild, Mary Hyatt Vandever; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Kent, David Bramlett, Ken Lane, Billy Ryles, Allen Moore, and Jamey Corley. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the UKC Coon Hunting Association.
Harry Geotes
(March 15, 1933 - June 9, 2016)
Graveside funeral services for Harry Geotes of Winona will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Oakwood cemetery in Winona, with Rev. Phillip Cook officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Geotes, 83, died of heart failure at his home on Thursday, June 9. He was born
in Gulfport on March 15, 1933. He was a former salesman for various companies and a retired adjuster for State Farm Insurance Company. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of Moore Memorial United Methodist Church in Winona. Mr. Geotes was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He also enjoyed hunting and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry D. Geotes and Ruth Mann Terrell.
Mr. Geotes is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue May Geotes of Winona; daughters, Susan Word (Drennan) of Lexington and Katlynn Geotes of Winona; son, Harry Geotes II (Dolly) of Columbus; three half-brothers, Chris Geotes, Ken Geotes, and Johnny Geotes, all of Gulfport; and three grandchildren, John Hudson Word, Chloe Word, and Sara Drennan Word.
Willard L. Black
(October 20, 1940 - October 8, 2010)
Funeral services for Willard L. Black of French Camp will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, at Kilmichael United Methodist Church in Kilmichael, with burial following in the Bethel cemetery near Kilmichael. Rev. William Johnson and Bro. Bobby Wade will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m, at Kilmichael United Methodist Church.
Mr. Black died of cancer at Regency Hospital at St. Dominic's in Jackson on Friday, October 8, 2010. He was 69 years old.
Mr. Black was the son of the late George and Dochie Channell Black. He was a retired logger and pipeline worker and a member of Huntsville Presbyterian Church near French Camp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrna Faye Black.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie L. Black of French Camp; daughter, Lee Anne Chesteen and her husband, Billy, of French Camp; son, Daryle Black and his wife, Jennifer, of French Camp; five sisters, Warrene Greenlee of Kilmichael, Glenda Black of French Camp, Eva Joy Wade of Minor, TN, Janelle Hopkins of French Camp, and Melba Braswell of French Camp; one brother, Paul Black of French Camp; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Hopkins, Lane Greenlee, Greg Braswell, Jerry Crowder, Brad Green, Brandon Palmertree, Glen Parkerson, and Jason Michau.

Wayne C. Burkett
(November 24, 1924 - August 27, 2011)
Funeral services for Wayne C. Burkett of Vaiden will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, at Vaiden United Methodist Church in Vaiden, with Rev. Calvin Cosnahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Vaiden cemetery in Vaiden, with military honors. Rev. Calvin Cosnahan will officiate the services.
Visitation will be on Thursday, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., at the church.
Mr. Burkett died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Saturday, August 27. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Burkett was the son of the late H. B. and Iva Buckley Burkett. He was the owner of Interstate Package Store and Vaiden Campgrounds and Gardens, and a member of Vaiden United Methodist Church. Mr. Burkett served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years. He served in five foreign conflicts, achieving the rank of lieutenant. He was a dedicated husband and father, and had a great love for his fellow man. He had a special concern for American troops fighting wars overseas. In addition to his parents, Mr Burkett was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Burkett.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Burkett; two sons, Ronald Wayne Burkett and Jeffrey Bernard Burkett; one sister, Gladys Hicks; six grandchildren, Lauren Hunt, Ronnie Burkett, Amber Burkett, Justin Burkett, Blake Burkett, and Kim Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Natalie Hunt, Kimberly Jones, Wyatt Jones, and Zoe Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James "Son" Alford, Lemon Cunningham, Charles Ellis, Joey Welch, Trey Dance, and Pete Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Gentry, Maze Barton, and Robert Laney.

John Shelby Pace Jr.
(June 20, 1935 - December 6, 2014)
Funeral services for John Shelby Pace Jr. of Kilmichael will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, at Huntsville Church of Christ near Kilmichael, with burial following in the church cemetery. Mr. Nathan Wright will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at the church.
Mr. Pace, 79, died at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo on Saturday, December 6. He was born
on June 20, 1935, in Choctaw County to the late John Shelby and Lena Jenkins Pace. He was a retired accountant and a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ. Mr. Pace was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Pace Ward; and a brother, Edmond Henry Pace.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Pace of Kilmichael; daughter, Shelby Pace of Oxford; son, John David Pace of Kosciusko; two brothers, Ralph Pace of Winona and Larry Pace of Marietta, Georgia; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Ward, Mark Ward, Jimmie Pace, Johnny Pace, Kevin Pace, and Ryan Pace. Honorary pallbearer will be Allan Pace.
Debra J. Bramlett
(August 11, 1954 - May 15, 2015)
Debra J. Bramlett, 60, of Winona died at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenwood on Friday, May 15, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Bramlett was born
in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 11, 1954. to the late Bernis and Era Weatherington Harris. She was a former employee of the Winona Country Club and Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona, and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Bramlett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Bramlett; her parents; and her brother, Joel Harris. She is survived by a host of cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Charles Coleman Weed
(July 16, 1930 - January 13, 2016)
Charles Coleman Weed, 85, of Starkville died at his residence on Wednesday, January 13.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville, with interment at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, in the Bethlehem Methodist cemetery near Winona. Rev. Jason Middleton, Rev. Jason Green, and Rev. Steve Galloway will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at Meadowview Baptist Church; and from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., at Bethlehem Methodist Church.
Mr. Weed was born
in Montgomery County on July 16, 1930, to the late Eugene and Ethel Coleman Weed. He was a retired businessman and worked as a courier for NBC Bank during his retirement. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville, the church he dearly loved. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Mr. Weed is survived by his wife, Mary Dobbins Weed of Starkville; two daughters, Sharon Weed McDill (Terry) of Madison and Judith Weed Hurley (Ralph) of Branson, MO; four grandchildren, Jarrad Newell (Deanna), Joseph Smith, Kelly Brazeal (Jim), and Brent Newell (Sierra); four great-grandchildren, Oklyn Newell, Aaron Newell, Shelby Brazeal, and Michael Brazeal; and two sisters, Zanice Jenkins of Winona and Katherine Lane of San Jose, California. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weed was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Joey Smith, Brent Newell, Jarrad Newell, Frank Weed, Terry McDill, and Warren Weed. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Weed and William Weed.

Lena Mae Collier
(February 22, 1932 - May 29, 2016)
Funeral services for Lena Mae Beach Collier of Winona, formerly of Collierville, Tennessee, will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Garden of Memory in Winona. Rev. Jack Marshall will officiate the services. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mrs. Collier, 84, passed away at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson on Sunday, May 29, 2016. She was born
on February 22, 1932, to R.K. and Mary Ethel Beach. She worked as an employee of Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis.
Ms. Collier is survived by her sister, Mary V. Branch of Winona, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Collier; her parents; and one sister, Ruby Beach Palmertree.
Oneita W. Simpson
(June 23, 1919 - October 5, 2010)
Funeral services for Oneita W. Simpson of Winona will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, at Oliver Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Rev. Rupert Ingram will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Friday, October 8, from noon until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Simpson was the daughter of the late Walter and Nerreda Murphy Waggoner, and the widow of the late William Hervey Simpson. She was a homemaker and a former employee of J.A. Olson Company in Winona and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winona. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Hunley Simpson.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Ingram and husband, Rupert, of Winona; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jeff Simpson, Joey Ingram, Brad Ingram, Daniel Ingram, Matt Simpson, and Will Ingram.
