McDANIEL
Colleen M. McDaniel, 54, Boonville, died Jan. 17, 2003, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1949, in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Wanda Mahoney. She was married to T.H. Potter, who died in March 1984. She was married July 1, 1985, in Boonville, to Wallace A. McDaniel, who survives at the home.
She showed and sold dogs. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Boonville.
Other survivors include one son, Robert Lee, East Lynn.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Albert Oetman, assisted by chaplain John Sussner, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, north of Jamestown.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Missouri River Hospice.
NELSON
Ruth Evelyn Nelson, 70, Versailles, died Jan. 12, 2003, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Decatur, Ill., a daughter of Tony B. and Gladys M. Richard Elder. She was married April 21, 1956, in Hernando, Miss., to Robert P. Nelson, who died Aug. 5, 1988.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one foster son, William Dodge, Lebanon; two sisters, Helen JoAnne Calton, Eldon, and Nina "Dee" Byers, Barnett.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Versailles Cemetery.
POTZMANN
John L. Potzmann, 84, Eldon, died Jan. 17, 2003, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born May 17, 1918, in St. Louis, a son of Joseph and Mary Schaeffer Potzmann. He was married Oct. 5, 1940, in St. Louis to Anita M. Burlingame, who survives at the home.
He was the owner/operator of the Midway Market, Eldon, for 50 years. He was an Army X-ray technician during World War II. He was a HAM Radio operator, with call sign KOGWL.
Other survivors include: three sons, Gary F. Potzmann, St. Louis, Kim J. Potzmann, Columbia, and Chris J. Potzmann, Eldon; one brother, Elmer Potzmann, St. Louis; one sister, Maryann Emmendorfer, state of Kansas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with the Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church, Eldon.
SAPPINGTON
Dorothy Fern Sappington, 94, California, died Jan. 17, 2003, at Moniteau Care Center, California.
She was born May 21, 1908, near Clarksburg, a daughter of Charles and Ollie M. Stinson Bailey. She was married May 23, 1931, in California, to Hartley Sappington, who died Jan. 12, 1984.
She was a 1925 graduate of Clarksburg High School, attended the Central Missouri State University and graduated from Lincoln University. She was a school teacher in Moniteau and Cooper Counties. She was a member of Clarksburg Baptist Church; Order of Eastern Star Chapter 521, California; Daughters of the American Revolution; Daughters of American Colonists and the Twin City Garden Club.
Survivors include one sister, Nelle Birdsong, California.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. Leroy Moon will officiate. Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery, near Clarksburg.
Memorials are suggested to the California Nutrition Center, 107 W. Versailles, California, Mo. 65108.
SCHILLER
Aleen Barbara Schiller, 77, Tacoma, Wash., died Jan. 8, 2003, in Tacoma.
She was born March 29, 1925, in Lohman, a daughter of Leo and Anna Brandt Linhardt. She was married Aug. 23, 1946, in Lohman, to the Rev. J.A. Schiller, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include: two sons, Paul Schiller, Boise, Idaho, and Sam Schiller, the state of California; one brother, Irlee Linhardt, Lohman; two sisters, Corine Linsenbardt and Ladine Heidbreder, both of Lohman; and one granddaughter.
Service were Jan. 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tacoma.

COMSTOCK
Dorothy H. Comstock, 86, Jefferson City, died Jan. 18, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born May 13, 1916, in Hermann, a daughter of Franklin and Carrie Vogel Huxol. She was married May 11, 1940, in Jefferson City, to Daniel Comstock, who died Aug. 5, 1969.
She was a graduate of Hermann schools.
She worked for the Missouri State Auditor's Office.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and president of the Women's Association and Circle, the Church Women, Jefferson City Chapter 496 Order of Eastern Star, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She volunteered with the West Elementary School Cub Scouts, Red Cross Blood Mobile, as ombudsman for the Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging, Meals on Wheels and the Presbyterian pre-school.
Survivors include: one son, Dan W. Comstock Jr., Holts Summit; two sisters, Mildred Thuli, Hermann, and Florence Gatzemeyer, Clinton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Two sons, David Comstock and Paul Comstock, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City. The Rev. Rudolph W. Beard will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
GERLING
Hubert Theodore Gerling, 87, Mexico, died Jan. 18, 2003, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Henley, a son of Henry and Anna Rackers Gerling. He was married June 29, 1946, in Wardsville, to Agnes Huhmann, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Chillicothe Business School and an Air Force veteran of World War II.
He worked as an accountant for Mexico Refractories and Kaiser Aluminum.
He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the men's choir and St. Brendan's Senior Citizens.
Other survivors include: two sons, Tom Gerling, Fulton, and Michael Gerling, Fenton; three daughters, Julie Long, Holts Summit, Emily S. Clark, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Mary R. Farris, Poplar Bluff; one brother, Norbert Gerling, Henley; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan Catholic Church. Fr. Henry Reicher will officiate. Burial will be in St. Brendan Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Arnold Funeral Home with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.
