YOUNG
Sherlie Ruth Imler Dowell Young, 72, Stover, died Nov. 10, 2002, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born Dec. 14, 1930, near Barnett, a daughter of Frank R. and Hannah Ann Jobe Imler. She was married Sept. 9, 1949, to Edward G. Dowell, who died Aug. 2, 1952. She was married April 2, 1954, to Fike Edward Young, who died March 22, 1997.
She worked in factories from 1947-1969 and was a homemaker. She worked at West Central Missouri Community Action Agency since 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Stover and spent many years as a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include: two sons, Herbert F. Young, Stover, and Douglas W. Young, Cole Camp; one daughter, Edwina Shewmaker, Stover; one brother, Karlton Imler, Tipton; one sister, Bernice Eidson, Eldon; and five grandchildren.
One daughter, Maria Lynn Young, died June 7, 1990.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Stover. The Rev. Dinzel Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at the church.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Music Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
HALEY
Alice Mae Haley, 95, Jefferson City, died Nov. 12, 2002, at Oak View Skilled Care Center.
She was born Feb. 14, 1907, in Cole County, a daughter of James A. and Iva Mae Hartley Smith. She was married June 26, 1937, in Sedalia, to John B. Haley, who died May 13, 1967.
She attended Cole County schools. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elston Baptist Church.
Survivors include two stepsons, four step grandsons, two step granddaughters and step great-grandchildren.
Two stepdaughters, Pauline Reeves and Florence Roush, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Elston Baptist Church.
ATTEBERY
Juanita Ewing Attebery, 73, Fulton, died Nov. 12, 2002, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.
She was born Dec. 11, 1928, near McCredie, a daughter of James H. and Lillian Redman Brooks Ewing. She was married Dec. 24, 1949, in Fulton, to William Theadore Attebery, who survives at the home.
She worked for William Woods College for more than 20 years.
She participated in various Daughters of the American Revolution organizations and belonged to the Hospital Auxiliary.
Other survivors include: three sons, James Michael, Cleveland, Ohio, Douglas Ewing, Kansas City, and Gregory Allen, Fulton; one daughter, Melinda Gay Hudson, Hatton; one brother, Russell Kenneth Ewing, Tebbetts; three sisters, Geraldine O'Toole, Downey, Calif., Gladys Marie Miller, Fulton, and Hazel Daro, Fairbanks, Alaska; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Nollie Guerrant DAR Scholarship Fund with the Charity Stille Langstaff Chapter.
ESTES
Lester V. Estes, 96, Lake Ozark, died Nov. 10, 2002, in Osage Beach.
He was born March 10, 1906, in Verona, a son of William A. and Maude Black Estes. He was married May 4, 1928, in Monett, to Hazel Moore Estes, who died March 2, 1993.
He was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 1935. He owned and operated a Los Angeles Times newspaper franchise and worked in Costa Rica for a mining exploration company.
He owned and operated the Joyce Motel in Lake Ozark, retiring in 1971.
He was a member of Lake Ozark Christian Church.
Survivors include: one son, William V. Estes, La Crosse, Wis.; fiancŽe, Myra Poss, Eldon: five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
One daughter, Elizabeth Graham, and one grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
LUETKEMEYER
George L. Luetkemeyer, 85, Chicago, died Nov. 8, 2002, at Loyola University Hospital.
He was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Meta, a son of Henry and Regina Dickneite Luetkemeyer. He was married to Christine "Cordula" Schauwecker, who died June 8, 1984.
He was a 1935 graduate of Meta High School and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: two sons, George W. Luetkemeyer and Thomas Luetkemeyer, both of Chicago; two daughters, Patricia Crawford, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Janet Chiles, Wheaton, Ill.; one sister, Margie Luebbert, Meta; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at St. Martha's Catholic Church, Morton Grove, Ill.
The body was cremated under the direction of Illinois Cremation Company.
MILLER
James Stanley Miller, 67, Eldon, died Nov. 11, 2002, in Eldon.
He was born July 7, 1935, in Versailles, a son of Charles M. and Anna Ruth Bond Miller. He was married April 6, 1954, in Dallas, to Donna Jean Farmer Miller, who survives at the home.
He was a retired plumber and a member of the Christian faith.
Other survivors include: three sons, James D. Miller and Charles I. Miller, both of Eldon, and Dana M. Miller, Republic; one daughter, Ruth C. Weightman, Oceanside, Calif.; one brother, Gerald Miller, Palatka, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Ruth Smith, Camdenton, Geneva Vernon, Tuscumbia, and Carmen Frank, Elizabeth Town, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Rea Jean Miller, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Walter Simpson will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
NEBEL
Services were today for Richard Forrist "Rick" Nebel, 49, Bolivar, who died Nov. 9, 2002, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
He was born Feb. 26, 1953, in Jefferson City, a son of E. Harmon and Dixie Nebel. His mother survives in Bolivar. He was married in 1986 to Krista Nebel, who survives in Bolivar.
He attended school in Jefferson City, graduating in 1971. He attended Louisiana Tech and graduated from SMSU in 1975, with a degree in marketing. He received a master's degree from Drury University.
He worked with Burroughs of St. Louis and returned to Jefferson City, where he developed the computer services department at the Baptist Building.
In 1981, he went to work for Southwest Baptist University, where he was serving as the chief informational officer for computer services.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bolivar, and attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Bolivar, for the past 16 years.
He served as treasurer for the Community Concert Association, Bolivar.
Other survivors include; two sons, Jonathan Cisco and Richard Forrist "Ricky" Nebel II, both of the home; two daughters, Rachel Cisco and Lydia Nebel, both of the home; two brothers, Larry Nebel, Pleasanton, Calif., and Rodney Nebel, Statesboro, Ga.
Services were at Butler Funeral Home, Bolivar. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and the Rick Nebel Memorial Fund at Southwest Baptist University.
