ABELL
Bro. James Abell, F.S.C., 77, Jefferson City, died Jan. 28, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 25, 1924, in Chicago, a son of James A. and Irene Cafferata Abell.
He attended the Juniorate Program at the La Salle Institute in Glencoe, where he received his high school diploma. In 1942, he received his religious robe as a Christian Brother; in 1943, he pronounced first vows as Christian Brother and in 1949, perpetual profession as a Christian Brother.
He had numerous community teaching assignments, including: 1946-1948 at Christian Brothers' Military High School, St. Louis; 1948-1951 at St. Mel High School, Chicago; 1951-1957 at De Le Salle High School in Kansas City; and since 1957 at Helias High School, where he was head of the math department.
He was a member of the Helias Booster Club and was a fourth degree, Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include two brothers, James A. Abell Jr., Park Ridge, Ill., and John B. "Jack" Abell, Los Angeles.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Most Rev. Michael F. McAuliffe and the Rev. Brendan Doyle will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the James L. Rackers Field House, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
A Helias High School student prayer service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the James L. Rackers Field House.
Memorials are suggested to the Bro. James Abell Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
HODGINS
Robert K. Hodgins, 79, Versailles, died Jan. 28, 2002, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Aug. 1, 1922, in Chillicothe. He was married Sept. 30, 1943, to Ida E. Cole, who survives at the home.
He was a body and fender repairman and owned Lakeside Body Shop in Gravois Mills for several years before retiring in 1999. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post in Gravois Mills. He was a member and past master of the Versailles Masonic Lodge 320 AF & AM.
Survivors include: two sons, Don Hodgins, Jefferson City, and Ken Hodgins, Hollister; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie. Graveside services will be at noon Friday in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Masonic Lodge 320 AF & AM, Versailles.
HORSTMAN
Helen "Dianne" Horstman, 53, Mokane, died Jan. 27, 2002, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born June 18, 1948, in Fulton, a daughter of S.C. and Helen Maddox Dolman. Her mother survives in Mokane. She was married Oct. 17, 1970, to Roger Horstman, who survives at the home.
She worked for AmerenUE for 15 years before retiring.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tracie Pinet, Jefferson City; two sisters, Connie Douglas, Holts Summit, and Cynthia Strother, Fulton; five brothers, Jerry Dolman, Fulton, Garry Dolman, Yukon, Okla., Ronald Dolman, Holts Summit, and Sammy Dolman, and Kevin Dolman, both of Mokane; and three grandchildren;
Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Rick Yoder and the Rev. Kenneth Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Steedman Cemetery, Steedman.
Visitation will be from 8-10 p.m. today.

KINSEY
Darlene Owens Kinsey, 83, Versailles, died Jan. 28, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.
She was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Taylor County, Iowa, a daughter of Frank A. Sr. and Iva Mae Hooker Higgins. She was married Nov. 22, 1980, in Morgan County, to Robert "Bob" Kinsey, who survives at the home.
She worked for Sugar and Spice Manufacturing in Iowa and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church near Versailles.
Survivors include: one brother, Cecil Higgins, Fortuna; three sisters, Willa Juliano, Fortuna, Doris Mae Higgins, Wheaton, Ill., and Catherine Chasser, Marysville, Calif.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Glensted Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
PHILLIPS
Clarence Calvin "Pat" Phillips, 77, Brumley, died Jan. 28, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born July 31, 1924, in Brumley, a son of Clarence and Delcie Marie Godfrey Phillips.
An Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a supplier in an ammunition warehouse at Ft. Leonard Wood.
Survivors include: his fiancŽe, Diana Jeffries, Brumley; one daughter, Patricia Phillips, of the home; one brother, Louie Phillips, Brumley; and one sister, Ila Asa, Brumley.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Rick Morrow will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Robinett Cemetery, near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
WOMACK
Services were today for Alice R. Womack, 87, formerly of the Lake of the Ozarks, who died Jan. 27, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 20, 1914, in Kansas City, a daughter of Bert F. and Rose Brown. She was married March 9, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to William T. Womack, who died March 12, 1998.
She graduated from Central High School and earned her undergraduate degree and a master's degree in education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. A homemaker, she lived in Independence and taught at Northeast Junior High School, Kansas City, until her retirement in 1976.
A Methodist, she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., the Daughters of the American Revolution and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: one daughter, Camilla Dollins, Unionville; one son, Kent Womack, St. Louis; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were at Drennon Chapel, Climax Springs. Burial was in Climax Springs Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
HARRIS
Jack Delane Harris, 64, Osage Beach, died Jan. 29, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 22, 1937, in Coalmont, Ind., a son of George and Ruth Bare Harris. He was married Feb. 11, 1977, in St. Louis, to Glenna Saxton, who survives at the home.
He attended Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach.
Survivors include: two sons, Greg Harris, Chicago, and Mark Harris, Dallas; two daughters, Beth Pegg and Roxanne Gregor, both of St. Louis; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bob Hickman will officiate. Graveside services will be at noon Saturday in K & P Cemetery, Coalmont, Ind.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
Memorials are suggested to the R & A Bloch Cancer Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
PARR
Leva Corinne Parr, 91, Eldon, died Jan. 28, 2002, at Good Shepherd Care Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1910, in Edgar, Neb., a daughter of Fred and Elsie Shipherd Livengood. She was married Feb. 28, 1931, in Longmont, Colo., to Earle Ruley Parr, who died Dec. 31, 1969.
She lived in Buckingham, Colo. and graduated from Barnes Business College, Denver, in 1930. She worked for 20 years for the Denver National Bank until her retirement in 1971. She moved to Eldon in 1973. She was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Lloyd Parr, Eldon; three sisters, Faye Bennett, Saguache, Colo., and Esther Osborne and Lois Sidebottom, both of Denver; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Arvada Cemetery, Arvada, Colo. The Rev. Marilyn McGraw will officiate.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 6 at Eldon United Methodist Church. The Rev. Fred Smith will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to Eldon United Methodist Church Mission Program or Fair Haven Children's Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.
RICHARDSON
Services were Tuesday, for Craig Kennett Richardson, 50, Belton, who died Jan. 25, 2002, at Belton Research Hospital.
He was born May 14, 1951, in St. Louis, a son of Jack and Peggy Richardson, who survive in Jefferson City. He was married to Joyce Richardson, who survives.
He graduated from Mehlville Senior High School, St. Louis, and Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield. He worked for St. Louis Music Company, retiring this year. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Belton Christian Church, VFW Post 100, American Legion Post 42, Air Force Memorial Foundation and the Air Force Association.
Survivors include: one son, Blake Richardson, and one daughter, Ashley Richardson, both of Blue Springs; one brother, Mark Richardson, Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Lori Richardson-Raithel, Jefferson City; four step children and three step grandchildren.
Services were at Belton Christian Church. Burial was in the Belton Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
