WRIGHT
Charles Grant Wright Sr., 34, Camdenton, died Jan. 8, 2002, at Capital Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 3, 1967, in Lebanon, a son of Roy and Betty Blair Wright. His parents survive in Camdenton. He was married to April Vanarsdale, who survives in Camdenton.
He graduated from Camdenton High School in 1985. He was a salesman at Cellular Connection, Versailles. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Camdenton, the NRA and Missouri Bow Hunters.
Other survivors include: two sons, Charles Grant Wright Jr., and Derringer Austin Wright, both of Camdenton; one daughter, Carissa Ann Wright, Camdenton; one sister, Paula L. Welch, Camdenton; his grandmother, Mildred Blair, Camdenton; and fiancŽe, Patty Sparks, Camdenton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Knight of Columbus Hall, Camdenton.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
HOWARD
Elma Swearingen Howard, 87, formerly of California, died Jan. 10, 2002, at Ashley Manor, Boonville.
She was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Homer J. and Hattie Elizabeth Lehman Swearingen. She was married Dec. 22, 1930, in Sedalia, to Virgil Monroe, who preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1983.
A homemaker, she worked for California Manufacturing and Selvins Shoe Company, Boonville. She was a member of Santa Fe Baptist Church, Boonville, and was a Sunday school teacher in Prairie Home and Boonville.
Survivors include: one son, Charles H. Howard Sr., Cabool; two daughters, June Wehmeyer, Boonville, and Sharon Creekmur, Paris; one sister, Florence Clancy, Waterloo, Iowa; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. Tom Priester will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Sunday.

DYER
Pat L. Dyer, 81, Jefferson City, died Jan. 11, 2002, at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.
He was born March 20, 1920, in Goldsboro, Texas , the son of Henry J. and Anna Mae Carter Dyer. He was married Oct. 15, 1938, in Abilene, to Josefa L. Raper, who survives at the home.
Prior to moving to Jefferson City in August 1999, he was a resident of Carlsbad, N.M., for over 50 years. He graduated from Novice High School in Novice, Texas . He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 90th Division of Gen. George Patton's 357th Infantry in Europe.
He was employed as an electrician in the mining industry in New Mexico for over 30 years, before retiring in 1983.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Carlsbad and Southridge Baptist Church in Jefferson City. He was also a member of the B.P.O. of Elks and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Carlsbad.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeff L. Dyer, Springfield; one daughter, Patricia J. Batey, Jefferson City; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Freeman Chapel with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Graveside services and burial with military honors will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
DUTCHER
Linnie L. Dutcher, 78, Russellville, died Jan. 10, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.
Arrangements are incomplete at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
PORTER
Daniel Grant Porter, 57, Osage Beach, died Jan. 11, 2002.
He was born July 24, 1944, in Eldon, a son of Dan E. Porter and Ethel King Porter.
He was a lifelong resident of the Eldon area. He ran a trash route in Eldon for several years until Midstate Waste took over the business. He also supplied Ozark Tackle with fishing worms and was a former groundskeeper for Dooley and Eldon cemeteries.
Survivors include: two sons, Dan Porter, Lake Ozark, and Robert Porter, Gravois Mills; four brothers, Donald Porter, Roy Porter, Charley Porter, and Bill Porter, all of Eldon; three sisters, Ida Polly and Lena Porter, both of Barnett, and Mary Whitten, Lebanon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Dooley Cemetery in Eldon. Brother Gerald Nelson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 8-9:45 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
BOAN
Johnnie E. Boan, 79, Eldon, died Jan. 12, 2002.
He was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Eldon, a son of James Roscoe Boan and Sarah Parsons Boan. He was married March 11, 1947, in Eldon to Viola Joyce Boots Crawford Boan, who survives at the home.
Boan, who attended Cooper Public School, worked as a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of Mt. Carmel and the First Baptist Church of Eldon. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Other survivors include: two sons, William David Crawford, Kingman, Ariz., and Ernest Maborn Crawford, Baldyn, Miss.; four daughters, Martha Robinson, Colleyville, Texas , June Baker, Jefferson City, Joyce Meisenheimer and Margaret "Maggie" Kausie, both of Eldon; five brothers, James Oliver Boan, Bloomfield, Kenneth Boan, Joe Boan, Buel Boan and Gary Boan, all of Nebraska; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Dooley Cemetery in Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice.
JOHNS
Carol Jean Johns, 61, Independence and Gravois Mills, died Jan. 10, 2002, near her home in Gravois Mills.
She was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Independence, a daughter of John and Margerite White Donlan. She was married Oct. 6, 1956, to William Harold Johns, who survives at the home.
She was a retired dispatcher for Gold Cross Ambulance Service, Independence.
Other survivors include: three sons, William Johns, Oak Grove, and Randy Johns and Justin Johns, both of Gravois Mills; one daughter, Brenda Stanton, Gravois Mills; one sister, Teresa White ; and four grandchildren.
The remains were cremated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
KALIN
Anna Catherine Kalin, 53, Jefferson City, died Jan. 10, 2002, at her home.
She was born July 23, 1948, in Faucett, a daughter of John B. Kalin, Sr., and Rose Kalin.
She was a graduate of Faucett High School and Northwest Missouri State University. She taught school in Albany and Trenton for seven years before moving to Jefferson City, where she was employed by the Missouri Department of Health for 22 years.
She was a member of the Community Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, of Jefferson City.
Survivors include: five brothers, John Kalin, Platte City, Tom Kalin, Shawnee, Kan., Joe Kalin, Stewartville, Frank Kalin, Faucett, and Steve Kalin, Hyrum, Utah.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meierhoffer Family Funeral Services in St. Joseph. Burial will be in the Faucett Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Faucett Christian Church.
LUNDY
Mable B. Lundy, 95, Stover, died Jan. 11, 2002, at her home.
She was born June 12, 1906, in Lincoln, Neb., a daughter of Henry and Mary Dion Berry. She was married Feb. 14, 1927, in Lincoln, to Leonard Lundy, who died Dec. 25, 1982.
She and her husband moved to Stover in 1976 from Lincoln. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, Edwin Lundy, Stover; one brother, Henry Berry Jr., Cabazon, Calif.; and one grandson.
She was cremated. Burial will be in the Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
SUCH
William K. Such, 89, formerly of Jefferson City, died Jan. 9 in Seattle, Wash.
He was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Monett, a son of William H. Such and Maude Heffernan Such. He was married July 18, 1937, to Hazel K. Smith, who survives in Seattle.
He worked as a pharmaceutical representative for Eli Lilly & Company in southwest Missouri for 29 years.
Other survivors include: two sons, Richard Such, Palo Alto, Calif., and Rod Such, Redmond, Wash.; a daughter, Kathy Love, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren and three-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Bethel Cemetery near Monett in the spring.
