MILES
Lorene M. Miles, 83, Russellville, died March 18, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 4, 1918, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Roy B. and Ethel Brannan Bohannon. She was married Aug. 20, 1955, in Boone County, to Jewell F. Miles, who survives at the home.
She attended school in Jefferson City. She was employed at the Bolivar Shoe Factory and Tweedies Shoe Factory. She worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue from 1961 until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church and attended the Dorcas Sunday school class.
Other survivors include: one son, Dale Branson, Jefferson City; two daughters, Carolyn Bolten and Judy Harrison, both of Russellville; one brother, James Bohannon, Deer Park, Wash.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Paul Young and the Rev. Hewitt Strobel will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Russellville Baptist Church Building Fund.
NEFF
Victor Tell Neff, 57, Jefferson City, died March 19, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 3, 1944, in Jefferson City, a son of Victor D. and Jennie M. Clark Neff. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He was married April 13, 1993, in Jefferson City, to Lana Russell, who survives at the home.
He was a 1962 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he received a bachelor's degree in 1966 and a juris doctorate in 1969. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1969 and was an attorney.
From 1976 to 1990, he was a partner with the Bushmann, Neff and Gallaher law firm. He was a partner with the Carson and Coil law firm from 1990 to 1999. He currently was employed in the bankruptcy division of the Missouri Department of Revenue.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church; member, Paul Harris Fellow and past treasurer of Jefferson City West Rotary Club; member of the Cole County Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association; member and past vice chairman of the Jefferson City Environmental Quality Commission; and member of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
He was a member and past president of the Jefferson City Community Concert Association; member and past president of the Capital City Council on the Arts; member and board member of Jefferson City Meals on Wheels; and member and board member of Agape House.
An accomplished pianist, he played in the Kapital Kicks Band and was drum major of the Jefferson City Jay Over the Hill Marching Band. He was a member of the University of Missouri Alumni Association.
Other survivors include: two sons, Christopher T. Neff and Clark E. Neff, both of Jefferson City; one stepson, Brian Flores, Rich Fountain; one stepdaughter, Tracey E. Flores, Kansas City; one sister, Jo Ann Beck, Manchester; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. L. Kyle Hern will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Community Hospice of America Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
REYNOLDS
John Reu Reynolds, 80, Eldon, died March 18, 2001, in Versailles.
He was born Nov. 2, 1920, in High Point, a son of Grant and Leona Mae Nail Reynolds. He was married Sept. 22, 1950, in Harrison, Ark., to Wanda Jean Haynes, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of the Eldon area, he worked for International Shoe Company for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated the Sears & Roebuck Catalog in Versailles until retiring. He was a member of Olean Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one son, John Reynolds Jr., St. Charles; three daughters, Judy Looten, Olean, Pat McKinley, Eldon, and Joyce Campbell, Versailles; three sisters, Ethel Parkes, Loveland, Colo., Wanda Meng, Fort Morgan, Colo., and Marie Moran, Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. Pastor Todd Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

HELD
Mona M. Held, 82, Chamois, died March 19, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born March 23, 1918, in Osage County, a daughter of Robert A. and Viola Belle Stinnet Coffelt. She was married July 17, 1940, in Hope, to Clarence W. Held, who survives at the home.
A lifelong area resident, she attended school in rural Osage County. She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn A. Honse, Vienna, Linda Wuelling, Chamois, and Marsha Landstreet, Cordova, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Leonard Held, died in 1969.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Chamois. Donald Schreimann will officiate. Burial will be in Shirley Cemetery, Mint Hill.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

HOMEYER
Edith Mae Homeyer, 89, Holts Summit, died March 19, 2001, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Feb. 22, 1912, in New Haven, a daughter of James and Josephine Kemper Hale. She was married Nov. 15, 1936, in New Haven, to Raymond Homeyer, who died Nov. 17, 1974.
She had been a resident of St. John.
Survivors include one sister, Bernice Keller, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. Landon Grosse will officiate. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery, New Haven.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
MILLER
Walter E. Miller, 84, Jefferson City, died March 19, 2001, in Jefferson City.
He was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Murphysboro, Ill., a son of Leo and Katherine Schliesser Miller. He was married Dec. 25, 1938, to Mary Louis Weldele, who preceded him in death.
He was retired from the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, where he was chief clerk of the traffic department. He was a member of Central United Church of Christ and St. John's United Church of Christ, Florence.
He was a member of the AARP's local chapter and had served as chairman of the legislative committee. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Railroad Veterans.
Survivors include: three sons, Michael Miller, Jefferson City, Daniel Miller, Independence, and Ronald Miller, Lakewood, Colo.; one sister, Roberta Krigbaum, St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date at Central United Church of Church of Christ. The remains were donated to the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
ENGLAND
Mary Thomas England, 93, Cedar Hill, formerly of Jefferson City, died March 19, 2001, at Cedar Hills Terrace.
She was born Dec. 13, 1907, in Chaffee, a daughter of Robert and Edna Earle Speak Thomas. She was married to James M. England Sr., who preceded her in death.
She worked as an elementary school teacher in Jefferson City and other towns. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in House Springs, and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include: one son, James M. England, Cedar Hill; one daughter, Dorothy Susan Smith, Little Rock, Ark.; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. The Rev. Norb Ernst will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill.
Memorials are suggested to the Our Lady Queen of Peace Endowment Fund.
JONES
Gretchen Pemberton Jones, 92, St. Louis, formerly of Iberia, died March 20, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Extended Care Facility, St. Louis.
She was born Aug. 12, 1908, near Iberia, a daughter of Wade A. and Edna Francis Wall Pemberton. She was married April 9, 1964, in Dayton, Tenn., to Dr. Andrew B. Jones, who died June 19, 1981.
She was a 1927 graduate of the Iberia Academy, a 1929 graduate of Iberia Junior College and a 1931 graduate of Drury College, Springfield. She was a medical technician at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, and worked as a secretary and lab technician for a group of doctors.
After her retirement she lived on Chickamauga Lake in Tennessee, and Lake Okeechobee in Florida. In 1976, she helped establish the Andrew B. Jones and Gretchen P. Jones Professorship in Neurology at Washington University Medical School, St. Louis.
She was a member of the Iberia Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include: one stepson, Andrew B. Jones Jr., Adams, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Pat Ingles, Marathon, Fla., and Barbara Pemberton, Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Wilma Birge, Seymour, Ind., Janet Wilson, Florissant, and Jean Keeth, Iberia; and two brothers, Don Pemberton, Cape Girardeau and Victor Pemberton, Tuscumbia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. RoseEllen Hoff will officiate. Private family burial will be in the Williams-Pemberton family Cemetery, near Iberia.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
