Fern Agnes Johnson
Fern Agnes (Bowerman) Johnson, 87, of West Plains, Mo., was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Oregon County, Mo., and died Nov. 26, 2008, at the Brooke Haven Health Center in West Plains, Mo.
She is survived by: one son, Ray Johnson and wife Helen; one daughter, Linda Davis and husband Phil; four grandsons, Waco Johnson and wife Debbie, Shawn Johnson, Billy Davis and wife Tammy, Paul Davis and wife Ronda; 13 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Leona Hand and Yvonne Ford and husband Jim; one brother, Eugene Bowerman and wife Eula; and numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard Johnson; an infant son; her parents, Reubin and Clara Bowerman; one brother, Virgil Bowerman; one sister, Clara Pingleton; one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Johnson.
Services were held Nov. 29 at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton with Dr. Neil Myers and Bro. Edward Casey officiating. Interment followed in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Church Building Fund.
Roy Hilton Rogers
Roy Hilton Rogers, 81, was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Savannah, Ga., the son of Cape Rogers and Mary Lee Tillman Rogers. He died Nov. 21, 2008, in Mountain Home, Ark.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving his country during World War II.
He was employed by Jacksonville Shipyards, working as manager of the Mayport Division in Mayport, Fla., as a planner and estimator of naval ships. After retirement, he relocated to the Ozarks.
He is survived by: his wife, Sandra Rogers of the home in Alton, Mo.; three children, Roy Vernon Rogers of Richmond, Ky., Lee Buck Rogers of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Ginger Lynn Hayes of Holly Hill, Fla.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Cape and Mary Lee Rogers; one grandchild; and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Nov. 22 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo. Burial followed Nov. 26 in the Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla., with local arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, Mo.
Mildred Janie Presley (06/22/06)
Mildred Janie Presley, 90, of Alton, was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Oregon County, Mo., and died June 7, 2006, at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, Mo. Survivors include her husband, Robert Presley; seven children.
Norma Lee Campbell (06/15/06)
Norma Lee Campbell died June 4, 2006, at her home in Alton at the age of 72. She was born Aug. 15, 1933, in Alton the daughter of the late Lloyd and Grace Watson Campbell. She was united in marriage Oct. 28, 1951, in Salem, Ark., to Paul Campbell who preceded her in death July 30, 1988.
Earl Stevens (06/15/06)
Earl Stevens, 80, of Alton, was born March 8, 1926, in Oregon County, Mo. and died June 3, 2006, at his home. Survivors include three children, David Kendell Stevens and wife Barbara of Alton, Donna Wood and husband Paul of West Plains and Wendell Stevens and wife Roberta of Thayer; two brothers, Homer Stevens of Alton and Waymon Stevens.
Ruth Loretta Kellett
Ruth Loretta Kellett was born March 5, 1934, in Thayer, Mo., the daughter of Homer Tyree and Iva Cantrell Tyree. She died Dec. 21, 2008, in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 74.
She was united in marriage to George Baker who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by: one son, Gene Baker of Thayer; one daughter, Marilynn Vanderveen of Thayer; one grandson, Randy Denton of Thayer; one granddaughter, Tiffany Baker of Thayer; three great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Homer and Iva Tyree; her husband, George Baker; one infant son, Billy James Baker; one grandson, Wesley Baker; two brothers, David Tyree and Marvin Tyree; and one sister, Mildred Clark.
Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.

Judith Ann (Judy) King, 60, of Thayer, Mo., daughter of Stella Mae (Martin) Thomas and the late J. N. Maguffee, was born on Oct. 27, 1947, in Glencoe, Ark. She died Sept. 25, 2008, at her home in Thayer, Mo. Judy was united in marriage to Carl Lee King on Jan. 13, 1964, at Salem, Ark.

James Ronald "Tuff" Sisco, 63, of Alton, Mo., was born Jan. 8, 1945, near Doniphan, Mo., and died Sept. 15, 2008, at his home. He is survived by: his sister, Helen Sue Winn and husband Elwood of Independence, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Theresa Sisco of Alton, Mo.; two step-brothers, Keith Dodson of Alton, Mo. and Tommy Dodson of Plattsburg, Mo.; one step-sister, Pam Cummings of the state of Utah; numerous nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends..
James William Rackley (02/19/09)
James William Rackley, 83, of Alton, Mo., died Feb. 8, 2009, and was born May 26, 1925, at Alton, Mo., to James Riley Rackley and Lena Mae Mitchell. On Oct. 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Jo Ella Dodson in Hernando, Miss., and to this union five children were born.

Crystal Geneva Baker was born Feb. 14, 1914, at Calm, Mo., the daughter of the late Curtis Johnson and Clara Miller Johnson. She died Feb. 2, 2009, at her home in Calm, Mo., at the age of 94. She was united in marriage to Loyd Baker at Salem, Ark., on Aug. 3, 1938, who preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1984.
