Glen D. Stanley

Glen D. Stanley, 69, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Born April 21, 1940, in Beech Creek, KY, he was the son of the late Sanford Stanley and Lizzie Mae Davis Stanley. On November 29, 1980, he married Marcia Lynne Nightwine who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall the last 30 years and retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods.
Additional survivors include his children, Amy McCampbell and husband Dale of Mendon, MO, Robin Baker and wife Paulette of Marshall and Scott Baker and wife Jennifer of Rolla; three sons, not of this area, Glen Stanley, Jr., Mark Stanley and David Stanley; seven grandchildren, Sierra Bangs, Andy McCampbell, Haley and Evan Baker, Brianna, Logan and MacKayla Baker; one sister, Bonnie Vantrepotte and husband Bob of Tucson, AZ; one brother, M.J. (Stan) Stanley and wife Veona of Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law, Euberta Stanley of Malvern, AR; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one daughter, Beth Baker.
Jean Crawford
January 26, 1928 - October 30, 2009
Jean Crawford, 81, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, October 30, 2009, at her home.
Born January 26, 1928, in Sweet Springs, MO, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Richard Crawford and Minnie Belle Stephenson Crawford. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church. She retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Neff and husband Gene of rural Marshall, Carol Coleman and husband Alan of Marshall, Sharon Crawford of Columbia, MO, Brenda Bair and husband Mike of rural Marshall and Carl Crawford and wife Darla of Marshall; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jones of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, five brothers, Raymond, Mark, Louis, Alfred and Richard Crawford, and three sisters, Rosa Riddle, Elizabeth Crawford and Lorene Seay.
Willie (Bill) D. Hardy
October 21, 1945 - October 29, 2009
Willie D. (Bill) Hardy, 64, of Mt. Leonard, MO, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Born October 21, 1945, in French Camp, CA, he was the son of the late Henry Leo Hardy and Myrtle Mangrum Hardy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran from 1964 to 1968, serving in Vietnam. On March 28, 1972, he married Wanda Hull who preceded him in death on June 5, 2006. He had lived in Mt. Leonard since 2001, moving from Green Ridge, MO, and had also lived in Cottage Grove, OR for 20 years. He was a truck driver for 20 years, retiring in July of 2006 from Cargill in Marshall. He was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558.
Survivors include his children, Cindy Tickameyer of Ionia, MO, Geoff Bowers of Slater, MO and Debbie Murray of Bunceton, MO; his companion, Evelyn Jennings of the home; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mattie Early of Nashville, TN and Margaret Smith of Oroville, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Bowers, and one brother, Leroy Hardy.
Jens W. Payne
August 11, 1918 - October 25, 2009
Jens W. Payne, 91, of Sweet Springs, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating.
Born August 11, 1918, in Forest City, MO, he was the son of the late James William Payne and Lillian Mary Knudson Payne. He had lived in Marshall most of his life, moving from Oregon, MO when he was a young boy, and had lived in Sweet Springs since February of 2005. He had worked at International Shoe Company, was a hard worker and enjoyed pleasing people. He was a Christian.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Payne and Bertha Payne, three brothers, Corbin Payne, Godfrey Payne and Marvin Payne, and one stepsister, Mary Payne.
Lillian Susan Holland
January 27, 1962 - October 27, 2009
Lillie Susan Pollard Holland, 47, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
Born January 27, 1962, in Biloxi, MS, she was the daughter of Wesley A. (Jack) Pollard of LaMonte, MO and the late Florence M. (Cookie) Waters Pollard. She was a 1980 graduate of LaMonte High School and a 1984 graduate of University of Central Missouri where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. On August 1, 1985, she married Robert Lynn Holland who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Additional survivors include one son, Caleb Wesley Holland of the home; two sisters, Kathy Lynn Chaney of Warrensburg, MO and Jackie Marie Haynes of Laclede, MO; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews
Lorna June Saverda
April 17, 1930 - October 27, 2009
Lorna June Saverda, 79, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Born April 17, 1930, in Cedar County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. Eason and Mamie A. Huff Eason. She was a graduate of El Dorado Springs High School in El Dorado Springs, MO. On August 30, 1952, in El Dorado Springs, she married Lester C. “Bud” Saverda, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2004. Mrs. Saverda, prior to moving to Olathe, KS, resided in Marshall for 53 years. She was employed at Marshall Democrat-News, Wilson’s Foods and Mar-Saline Manor prior to her retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marshall. She was a 45-year member of Marshall Chapter 408, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a long time member of American Business Women’s Association and Fitzgibbon Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith Saverda-Allen; two granddaughters, Amanda Clark and Andrea Lane and husband Aaron; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janiece Walthers.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Baker.
Delveta M. Heather
May 28, 1937 - October 26, 2009
Delveta M. Heather, 72, of Slater, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Monday, October 26, 2009, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
Born May 28, 1937, in Buffalo, MO, she was the daughter of the late John L. Reeves and Maude Wilson Reeves. On January 10, 1957, in Marshall, she married Bobby Dean Heather who preceded her in death on February 19, 1998. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Marshall. She retired from Marshall Habilitation Center and also worked at Mar-Saline Manor, Vanderpool Residential Care and Georgia Brown Blosser Home for the Aged.
Survivors include two children: Charlotte Stockman Johnson of rural Gilliam, MO and Bob M. Heather Sr. and wife Sandra K. of rural Gilliam; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Medcalf of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Reeves, and three sisters, Thelma Ford, Juanita Highfill and one in infancy.
