Rylie B. Petitt
February 24, 1908 - November 25, 2011
Rylie B. Petitt, 103, of Columbia, MO, formerly of rural Blackwater, MO, died Friday, November 25, 2011, at her niece’s home in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Chris Harper, minister, officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Millers Chapel Cemetery in Pettis County. Memorials may be made to Blackwater Senior Center or Millers Chapel Cemetery.
Born February 24, 1908, in Cooper County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Rothwell Wright Alverson and Lou Anna Belle Potter Alverson. Rylie joined the Methodist Church in Blackwater at the age of 12 and graduated from Blackwater High School. In 1932, she married Smith “Smitty” Francis Heim who preceded her in death in 1938. On December 8, 1944, she married Clyde Franklin Petitt who preceded her in death on March 10, 1989. She had lived all of her life in the Blackwater area except for a short time she was in Montana with Smitty when they were first married. She had been living with her niece in Columbia since June of 2005. She had been a homemaker all of her life and helped her husband, Clyde with his trucking business and farming and sold Avon products for about 13 years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include four nieces, Beverly Perkins of Columbia, Bettye Gesk and husband Eddie of the state of Illinois, Beverly Mitchell of Springfield, MO and Pauline Graham of Tipton, MO; one nephew, Vernon Alverson and wife Edna of St. Louis, MO; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death two brothers, Roy Alverson and Vernon Alverson; and two sisters, Nona Lea Alverson and Edna Alverson Heim.
Willis James Hinck
May 2, 1932 - November 23, 2011
Willis James Hinck, 79, of Emma, MO, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011, Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be held in Blackburn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home or family choice.
Born May 2, 1932, in rural Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late William F. Hinck and Lena Sophina Emily Heerman Hinck. He attended Holy Cross Lutheran School in Emma. He was U.S. Army veteran serving from 1952 to 1954 and was a member of V.F.W. Post 5649 in Concordia. On February 14, 1957, he married Martha Lou King who preceded him in death on March 6, 2002. He was owner and operator of Hinck’s Plumbing and Heating till the early 1970’s, worked for MFA Oil Company from 1971 until retiring in the mid 1980’s and earned many awards and trips through MFA based on his sales. He also owned and operated the Sweet Springs Car Wash and Sweet Springs Laundromat for many years. He was a lifelong area resident of Sweet Springs, Concordia and Emma, living at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg the last year and a half. He enjoyed tinkering and working with his hands, being outdoors and visiting.
Survivors include one son, Greg Hinck and wife Donna of rural Sweet Springs; two daughters, Becky Schuette and husband Brett of Concordia and Linda Krause and husband Dennis of Emma; seven grandchildren, Ashley Hinck, Travis Hinck, Jessica Schuette, Kent Schuette, Derrick Krause, Stephanie Krause and Andrew Krause; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Hildegard Dohrman, Frances Lynch, Verna Mae Frerking and Ruby Oglesby.
Ronald (Pete) McGinnis
July 12, 1946 - November 22, 2011
Ronald (Pete) McGinnis, 65, of Concordia, MO, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia with burial in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials may be made to family choice.
Born July 12, 1946 in Kansas City, KS, he was the son of the late Forrest Edgar McGinnis and Irene Ahrentschild McGinnis Brockman. On December 4, 1965 he married Shalah Jean Rice who preceded him in death on August 9, 2011. Pete lived in the Concordia area most of his life where he was a graduate of Concordia High School and served as the custodian for St. Paul’s School and Church for nearly 25 years.
Survivors include two sons, Darin Eugene McGinnis of Concordia and Christopher Lee McGinnis and wife Terisa of Concordia; eight grandchildren: Jared David McGinnis, Austin Richard McGinnis, Trent Allen McGinnis, Ross Michael Lovercamp, Shelby Lynn McGinnis, Brayden Wayne McGinnis, Carley Jo McGinnis and Dillon Keith McGinnis; two brothers, Larry McGinnis of Concordia and David McGinnis of Blue Springs; one sister, Phyllis Thorp of Lexington; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Keith McGinnis; step-father, Earl Brockman; three brothers, Harlan McGinnis, James (Kessner) McGinnis and Roger Allen McGinnis; and one sister, Sue McGinnis.
Frederick D. (Fred) Bieberly
May 2, 1939 - November 21, 2011
Frederick “Fred” Duane Bieberly, CPA, passed away November 21, 2011 at the age of 72.
Fred was born May 2, 1939 in Russell, KS to Rudolph and Theresa Elizabeth Besser Bieberly. He was one of six sons. The Bieberly family moved to Slater, MO in the 1940’s. He graduated from Slater High School then attended and graduated from Central Missouri State University, with honors, and a degree in Accounting. In 1971, he passed the Certified Public Accountant exam and began a successful accounting practice in Marshall MO.
Growing up and enjoying the outdoors, he became an avid outdoorsman. Fred’s passion for the outdoors took him, his family and friends on many adventures to Africa, Alaska, Canada and many locations in the United States. He was an active member of many wildlife conservation programs.
Fred is survived by his brother, Darrell Bieberly of Kansas City, MO; two sons, Chris and Matt Bieberly both of Olathe, KS; and three grandchildren.
In addition to the passing of his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerome Bieberly of Marshall, Robert Bieberly of Oregon City, OR, Charles Bieberly of Marshall and Victor Bieberly of Abilene, TX.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate the services. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Chris Bieberly, Darrell Bieberly, Matt Bieberly, Charles Cooper, Kevin McKinney and Dr. Tim Ryan

Harvey A. Bredehoeft
January 9, 1923 - November 17, 2011
Harvey A. Bredehoeft, 88, of Alma, MO, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, with Pastor Fred Hertwig officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in the Flora community. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Hour Ministries or Gideon’s International.
Born January 9, 1923, on the family farm in rural Blackburn, he was the son of the late Louis Bredehoeft and Clara Driver Bredehoeft. His parents brought him to be received in the family of God through the rite of Baptism on January 28, 1923, at St. Peter’s Church in the Flora community. He attended St. Peter’s school for five years and two years at Hickory Grove School where he received his eighth grade diploma. He professed his faith in the Lord Jesus through the rite of confirmation at St. Peter’s on April 5, 1936. His confirmation verse was Matthew 26:41.
On February 19, 1950 he married Ruth Lovercamp who survives of the home. He was a lifelong farmer, and during his career as a farmer, he was a steward of the soil. It was important for him to preserve the soil for the next generation, which was evident when he received the Lafayette County Conservation Farmer of the Year award in 1978. He was a charter member of the Missouri Pork Producers and had served on the state board, as well as serving as president of the Lafayette County Pork Producers. He also served on the Alma Farmers Co-Op board, Alma Telephone Company board, and was a member of Alma Lion’s Club. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma where he held various offices and was a member of its Men’s Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Neal Bredehoeft and wife Kathy of Alma, Gene Bredehoeft of Concordia, and Clark Bredehoeft and wife Holly of Blackburn; seven grandchildren: Crystal Sheets and husband Jared, Lorie Kreisel, Aimee Bredehoeft, Lacey Bredehoeft-Fiene and husband Ross, Tyler Bredehoeft, Jordan Bredehoeft and Sydney Bredehoeft; four great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Edwin, Leonard and Marvin Bredehoeft; and two sisters, Edna Flandermeyer and Leona Flandermeyer.
Everett E. Holmes
October 28, 1929 - November 13, 2011
Everett E. Holmes, 82, of Fredericktown, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, November 13, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Born October 28, 1929, in Bunker, MO, he was the son of the late Noah Levi Holmes and Lora Barton Holmes Maxwell. On December 31, 1953, he married Aline W. Stephens who preceded him in death on April 18, 1990. On July 20, 2004, he married Vera Bray Stephens who survives of the home. He lived in Marshall most of his life, moving to Fredericktown in 1996, and retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center where he was an auto mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and earned two Purple Hearts and various other medals. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James Holmes of Blue Springs, MO; three daughters, Rhonda Myers and Judith White both of Marshall and Laura (June) Harris of Slater, MO; three stepsons, Rick Brummer and Scott Stephens both of Fredericktown and Larry Stephens of Moberly, MO; two stepdaughters, Virginia Rice of Fredericktown and Missy Stokes of Park Hill, MO; 11 grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 29 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores (Tootie) Riley of St. Louis, MO and Beulah Miller of Ironton, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cinthia Bernardon; three sisters, Jennie Humm, Edna McCabe and Victoria Tennill; one brother, Charles Holmes; 2 grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Wayne P. Turner

Wayne P. Turner, 72, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
Born April 11, 1939, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Leon Paul Turner and Alice Katherine Jacoby Turner. He lived in Marshall his entire life and was a graduate of Marshall High School. He retired from Charles Turner Trucking Company and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Survivors include one sister, Janice Ernzen and husband Tom of Lorena, TX; sister-in-law, Lois Turner of Marshall; two nieces, Julie Stockman and husband Joe of Liberty, MO and Jennifer Johnson and husband Larry of Marshall; two nephews, Brian Ernzen and wife Julie of Hewitt, TX and Brandon Ernzen of Houston, TX; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; and two aunts, Helen Jacoby Brame of Marshall and Rosemary Turner King of Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Jacob Turner; and longtime companion, Shirley A. Mikle.
