Ervin E. Campbell

Ervin E. Campbell, 88, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, December 30, 2007, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Marshall with Rev. Dave Huck officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be held in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall with military rites. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Saline Animal League.
Born October 31, 1919, in Appleton City, MO, he was the son of the late John Franklin Campbell and Willie Maude Whitfield Campbell. He was a 1938 graduate of Urich High School. On December 4, 1940, he married Evelyn M. Woirhaye who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall since 1988 moving from El Dorado Springs, MO and had worked as a clerk for M.K.& T. Railroad for 16 years and then as a dispatcher for KAMO Electric in El Dorado Springs for 23 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post in El Dorado Springs for many years and then transferred his membership to Malta Bend American Legion Post 558 and was a member of the V.F.W. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church since moving to Marshall. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Diehm and husband David of Marshall; one grandson, Mike Diehm of Marshall; one granddaughter, Karen Maupin of Marshall; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Mae Prewitt of Lee’s Summit, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.
Karen Jean Frain Riley

Karen Jean Frain Riley, 53, of Bates City, MO, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Family Choice.
Born July 18, 1954, she was the daughter of Donald Wylie of rural Warsaw, MO and Barbara Richards Wylie Malan of rural Bates City. She had lived most of her life in Marshall and Slater living in Bates City the last 10 years.
Additional survivors include her children, Brecket Usnick and husband Jeff of Ionia, MO, Crystaline Frain and Michael Frain, III both of Odessa, MO and Isaac Wylie of Bates City; five grandchildren; one sister, Carol Ann Snider and husband Tim of rural Warsaw; one niece; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
H.H. Wilson
November 9, 1929 - February 27, 2013
H.H. Wilson, 83, of rural Napton, MO, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Marshall FFA Chapter, Salt Fork YMCA, or Smith Chapel Cemetery Fund.
Born November 9, 1929 in Napton, MO he was the son of the late George S. Wilson and Helen Heckman Wilson. He had lived in Saline County his entire life where he owned and operated H.H. Wilson Excavating Company. On December 18, 1953 he married Betty L. Janes who preceded him in death on December 18, 2012. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Land Improvement Contractors Association and Marshall Masonic Lodge 205 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Martin and husband Tim of Marshall, MO, Kimberly Davis and husband Jerry of Miami, MO; four grandchildren, Nichole Davis, J.W. Davis, Jacob Davis, and Erika Martin; one niece, LuAnn Brown of Grand Prairie, TX; and one nephew, Brent Wilson of Grand Prairie, TX.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert F. Wilson.
Iris Kroencke
March 27, 1920 - March 1, 2013
O. Iris (Dotson) Kroencke, 92, of Concordia, MO, died Friday morning, March 1, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia with Dr. Rev. Alan Gatewood officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the church, until time of the service. Burial will be in Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Church Cemetery Beautification Fund or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
Iris was born March 27, 1920 at Hardin, MO, the daughter of the late George B. Dotson and Virginia Tucker Dotson. The family moved to Concordia when Iris was 13. She graduated from Concordia High School in 1937, and moved to Kansas City to work at Montgomery Wards. She returned to Concordia when she married Robert Kroencke on March 19, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1974.
Iris worked for the Concordia R-II School District as District Secretary from 1963-1990. During retirement she enjoyed gardening, baking for family and friends, and volunteering at her church, Bethel United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Kroencke of the home; nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers.
Nova L. (Jack) Hufford
April 14, 1931 - February 22, 2013
Jack Hufford, 81, of rural Marshall, formerly of rural Nelson, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
At Jack’s request no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Salt Fork Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born April 14, 1931, in Nelson, MO, he was the son of the late Stephen M. Hufford and Alpha Marie Perkins Hufford. He was a 1949 graduate of Nelson High School. On September 10, 1950, he married Judith C. Perkins who survives of the home. He had lived most of his life in Saline County near Nelson and was a member of Heath Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter for Ashford Building and Real Estate.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Judy Ann Fitzsimonds and husband James of rural Marshall, Nelson Leon Hufford of Marshall, Carl Edward Hufford and wife Sandy of rural Marshall and Dessie Marie Stafford and husband George of Slater; nine grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Vivalene Tucker and Nina Ritchey both of Alton, IL and Gloria Hufford of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Stephen Hufford; and one brother, Steve Henry Hufford.
Carol Ann Schlueter

Carol Ann Schlueter, 71, of rural Concordia, MO, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with Rev. James Dahlke officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery in Ernestville. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Born September 29, 1941, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Gustav Holsten and Leona Kroeschen Holsten. She had lived in the Concordia area her entire life where she was a 1959 graduate of Concordia High School. On May 18, 1963 she married Albert Wayne Schlueter who preceded her in death on August 28, 2003. Carol owned and operated Schlueter Tax Service for many years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and its choir for many years in Ernestville.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Schlueter of Sedalia, Brett Schlueter and wife Mandy of Warrensburg; one daughter, Cathy Fiedler and husband Chris of Sedalia; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Holsten of LaBelle, FL; two sisters, Merlyn Bohler of Troy, IL, and Linda Jeeninga of Edwardsville, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Herbert L. Lynn

Herbert L. Lynn, 79, of Concordia, MO, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at John Knox Village House in Lee's Summit.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Corder Calvary Cemetery. Born May 25, 1933, in Wakenda, MO, he was the son of the late Herbert Nathaniel Lynn and Flora Elizabeth Ford Lynn. On June 25, 1955 he married Betty Howard who preceded him in death on December 16, 1999. He had lived in Concordia for many years, worked as a cheesemaker at the Concordia and Emma Creameries, and had also worked at Concordia Foods.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Leimkuehler and husband Alfred of rural Blackwater; Mary Blumhorst of Concordia; one son, Herbie Lynn of Concordia; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Kisner of Corder, Eunice Gilliland of Carrollton, and Gloria Sloan of Springfield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Dale Leroy Lynn; and one brother, Donald Lynn.
