Helen H. Luehr
Helen H. Luehr of Washington, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at the age of 88 years.
Mrs. Luehr was born at Richwoods, Missouri on March 20, 1912 to the late Patrick and Julia (Coleman) Hayes. She received her education at the former Bluff School near Richwoods having completed the ninth grade. She then came to the Sullivan area where she took employment at International Shoe Company and continued to work there until the company closed. She then became employed at the former Kovac’s Restaurant as a cook. On August 5, 1930 she was married to Hugo Luehr at Richwoods, Missouri. In later years, when ill health fell upon her, she moved to Washington, Missouri to be near her daughter. Mrs. Luehr was known as an ambitious and hardworking woman. She found pleasure in crocheting and quilting. She enjoyed gardening and was proud of her harvests, both flowers and vegetables. Her family was important to her. She enjoyed cooking for them and opened her doors to her host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When living in Sullivan, she was a faithful member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Donald Luehr and wife Katherine of Union, Missouri, one brother, Robert Hayes and wife Mary Lou of Washington, Missouri, two sisters, Nora Miller of Bellgrade, Missouri and Bertha Johnson of Washington, a son-in-law, Donald Frankenberg of Washington, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Along with her husband Hugo, Mrs. Luehr was preceded in death by an infant son Joseph, a daughter, Willetta Frankenberg, a great-grandchild and a brother-in-law, Winford Miller.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday from Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan with interment in Saint Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30 until 8 p.m. Friday from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, masses or memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation are requested.
Edith M. DeLashmett
Edith M. DeLashmett of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2000 at the age of 84 years.
Mrs. DeLashmett was born January 21, 1916 near Japan, Missouri to the late John and Jane (Enloe) Strothcamp. On September 4, 1937 she was married to Javis DeLashmett at Steelville, Missouri and to this marriage seven daughters were born. Mrs. DeLashmett was employed for a time at the former PACO Company as an assembler. Her greatest vocation however, was that of a loving mother and friend.
She is survived by six daughters, Virginia Gilhaus of Sullivan, Mary Sue Stack and husband, Jim, of Camdenton, Missouri, Ruby Nappier and husband, Bob, of Lansing, Michigan, Darlene Brawley and husband, Tom, of St. Charles, Missouri, Donna Carroll and husband, Roy, of Sullivan, and Charlotte DeLashmett and special friend, John Jackson, of Wright City, Missouri; one son-in-law, Bill Laws, of Farmington, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Lula Thurmond and Clemalee Caldwell; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Her husband Javis preceded her in death in March of 1986. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda, a great-grandson, Joey Nappier, a son-in-law Jim Gilhaus, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2000 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Bob Nappier officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family desires that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Edith M. DeLashmett.
William H. Stegeman
William H. Stegeman of Springfield, Missouri formerly of Sullivan passed away Monday, January 1, 2001 at the age of 81 years.
Mr, Stegeman was born June 16, 1919 at Taos, Missouri to the late Anton and Frances (Brogan) Stegeman. He was raised there as a young man and on August 9, 1947 was married to Bernice Klopotek. He honorably served his country during W.W.II with the U.S. Army. He was awarded four Bronze Stars for his service in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland. His Army career also extended into the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged in July of 1952. His vocation in life was that of a salesman for the former Krey Packing Company and later Frickes Meat Products in Washington, Missouri. After making their home in the Sullivan area for 26 years. Bill and his wife made their home in Springfield, Missouri. He never knew a stranger and was a devoted family man. In his younger days, he found pleasure in pheasant hunting, boating and fishing. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Springfield, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Springfield, Missouri, one son, Bob Stegeman and wife, Pam of Sullivan, one daughter, Sandi Stegeman of Union, Missouri, three brothers, Barney and Archie Stegeman both of Jefferson City, Missouri, Lloyd Stegeman of Kansas City, Missouri, one sister, Sylvia Schulte of Kansas City, Missouri, five grandchildren, Mickey and Michael Weirich, Heidi, Courtney and Amy Stegeman, three great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a brother in-law, Butch Klopotek, other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Mr. Stegeman was preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Stegeman and one sister, Alberta Alberta Reinkemeyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 4, 2001 from Saint Anthony Catholic church in Sullivan with interment in St. Anthony Church Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. William Stegeman will be after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Eaton Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening and V. F. W. service at 7:30 p.m.
George F. Holtkamp III
George F. Holtkamp III of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Monday, January 8, 2001 at the age of 41 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Holtkamp of Fenton, Missouri, and one son, George Koltkamp IV of DeSoto, Missouri, his father, George Holtkamp, Jr. of St. Clair, Missouri, his mother, Lois Boulter of Sullivan, two half-brothers, Jeff Wolz of Pacific, Missouri and Terry Wolz of St. Louis, one granddaughter, Haley Hartmann other relatives and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2001 at the Pacific AA Facility, Pacific, Missouri. Arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Ezma L. (Mary) Riegler
Ezma Lerna (Mary) Riegler of Leasburg, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at the age of 91 years.
Mrs. Riegler was born July 11, 1909 in Miller County, Missouri to the late Erza and Clara (Phillips) Catron. She had made her home for several years in the St. Louis area where she was employed as a tobacco stemmer at Liggett and Meyers. After her retirement from there, she resided in Leasburg, Missouri where she has lived over the past 50 years. She was a woman of principle with whom you knew where you stood. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and also found pleasure in doll collecting. She was raised in the Baptist faith and attended the First Southern Baptist Church of Leasburg.
She is survived by one sister, Freddie Pierce of St. Louis, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Alnog with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Charles, one brother, Edward Kimbrell, and a sister, Pauline Kinberlin.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with interment in Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri. Visitation for Mrs. Mary Riegler will be from 3 until 8 pm Friday at the J.B. Smith Funeral Home, 7456 Manchester Road, Mapelwood, Missouri and from 10 am until 1 pm Saturday at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Ivy L. Delcour
Ivy L. Delcour of Sullivan, passed away Saturday at the age of 67 years.
He is survived by his wife Connie nee Winthorst of Sullivan, one son, Jason Delcour, two daughters, Lisa Brown of Columbia, Missouri and Lori Delcour of Houston, Texas, one step-son: Ryan Licklider of Sullivan, one step-daughter, Sara Garrett of Sullivan, three brothers, Kenneth Delcour of Cherryville, Missouri and Eldon Delcour of Rolla, Missouri, one sister, Rosabel Toon of Rolla, one grandchild, three step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 from the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan with interment at 1:30 p.m. in North Lawn Cemetery, Salem, Missouri. Visitation for Ivy Delcour will be from 4:30 until 9 p.m. Monday from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan.
Raymond E. Danz
Raymond E. Danz of Leslie, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 14, 2001 at the age of 91 years.
Mr. Danz was born February 25, 1909 near Gerald, Missouri to the late Fred and Isabelle (Walters) Danz. He was a life-long resident of the Gerald and Sullivan areas. On February 26, 1936 he was married to Velma Luecke at Union, Missouri and to this marriage four daughters were born. He had been employed in various jobs in his early life which included owning the former Tomboy Store in Gerald, working in St. Louis at a hat factory and driving a gas truck for his brother Charles. However, for the greater part of his life his vocation was that of a farmer. He was a man of honor and his word was good as his bond. He was a hard worker who knew the value of time spent on a job. He did have a sense of humor and would often be the “life of the party”. He knew Jesus Christ as his personal saviour and attended Sullivan Christian Chruch.
He is survived by his wife Velma, four daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Plez Underdown, Lois and Billy Stubblefield, Karen and Jim Martin, Glora and Jim Turner all of the Sullivan area, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of special friends. Along with his parents, Mr. Danz was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Charles and Elmer Danz and by three sisters, Addie Danz, Nona Mesger and Dell Polst.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday from the Hassebroek Chapel in Sullivan with interment in Cave Springs Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Raymond Danz will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Tuesday from the Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan. Those who desire may make memorials to the Sullivan Christian Church
Marylee Busler
Marylee M. Busler of Leasburg, Missouri, passed away Tuesday at the age of 76 years.
She is survived by three sons; John Thomason and wife Nancy of Aurora, Colorado, Douglas Thomason of Pouslbo, Washington, and Robert Thomason and wife Pam of Leasburg, Missouri; one daughter, Paula Busler of Belleville, Illinois, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2001 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with cremation to follow. Visitation for Mrs. Marylee Busler will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Oliver Andersen
Oliver W. Andersen of Sullivan passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at the age of 79 years.
Oliver was born June 21, 1921 at Antioch, Illinois to the late Charles and Laura (Parks) Andersen. He was raised and attended school in Antioch, later moving to the Clayton, Missouri area where he was employed as a groundskeeper on the Goldman’s Estate which was later known as Oak Knoll Park. On September 7, 1939 Oliver was married to Margaret Tiemann at St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Andersen moved his family to the Sullivan - Bourbon area when he was employed by the former Ramsey Corporation. He also worked for the company when it became Pacco and later Pacer, relocating to Washington, Missouri. After retiring from Pacer, Oliver enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Along with his wife, Margaret, Mr. Andersen had been a resident of Beverly Healthcare for the past three years. Mr. and Mrs. Andersen had celebrated 61 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Andersen of Sullivan; one daughter, Ruth Ann Johnson and husband, James of Pacific, Missouri; one brother, Donald Andersen and wife, Margaret of Melbourne, Florida; two grandsons, David and Jerry, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Along with his parents, Mr. Andersen was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Rev. Scott Perry officiating. Interment was in Crow Cemetery. Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
