Emily A. Susnic
Emily A. Susnic of Sullivan passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at the age of 87 years.
Emily was born September 18, 1914 to the late John and Katherine (Izo) Kucera at St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of seven the Kucera family traveled to their native Czechoslovakia and remained there for about ten years, returning to St. Louis once again to make their home. On September 17, 1931 Emily was married to Blasé Joseph Susnic at Saint Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Louis. Blasé and Emily were blessed with six children. In 1960 the Susnic family moved to the Sullivan area. Mrs. Susnic was employed for many years by the former Schulte’s Bakery where her husband was also employed as head baker. Emily was a quiet person, who enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. She was a member of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church for over 40 years.
She is survived by four sons, Blasé Susnic, Jr. of Pacific, Missouri, David Susnic and wife, Judith, of Leasburg, James Susnic and wife, Ramona, John Susnic and wife, Becky all of Sullivan, two daughters, Carol Squires and husband, Joseph of Ballwin, Missouri, Susan Staley and husband, Charles of Harvester, Missouri, one brother, John Kucera and wife, LaVerne, of Massilon, Ohio, three sisters, Katherine Shebik of St. Louis, Missouri, Marie Fabry of Concordia, Missouri and Ruth Zipay of St. Louis, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Mrs. Susnic was preceded in death by her husband, Blasé Susnic on November 28, 1997 after 66 years of marriage.
Funeral services were conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 from Saint Matthews Lutheran Church in Sullivan with Pastor Jeffrey Duncan officiating. Interment was in National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Anna M. Campbell
Anna M. Campbell of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at the age of 77 years.
Mrs. Campbell was born on July 14, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fred F. and Emma L. (Wespi) Finney. Her childhood years were spent in Sullivan. On April 6, 1944 she was joined in marriage to Harry S. Campbell in Houston, Missouri, and to their union seven children were born. Throughout her adult life, Anna primarily served her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. In 1964 she moved with her family to Bourbon, Missouri, and then to Cuba the following year. Anna enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, and raising grandchildren and chickens. She was a member of the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church, and will be remembered and cherished as an extremely patient, caring, and giving person.
She is survived by four sons, Mike Campbell and wife, Rosemary, Gary Campbell and wife, Lucille, and Steve Campbell and wife, Christine, all of Cuba, and Dave Campbell and wife, Terry, of St. James, Missouri; three daughters, Pat Shafferkoetter of Sullivan, Nancy Spurgeon and husband, Don, and Fannie Lea and husband, Joe, all of Cuba; one brother, Charles F. Finney of Sullivan; twenty-three grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by one brother, Georgie Finney, one grandchild, Johana M. Campbell, and one great-grandchild, Noah Terrill.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2002 from the Chapel of the Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Rick Dablemont officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2002 and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2002 at the Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan. If desired, contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or to the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church in memory of Anna M. Campbell.
Clarence A. Missey
Clarence A. Missey of Bourbon, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2002 at the age of 87 years.
Mr. Missey was born on March 14, 1914 in Bourbon to Albert and Mary Jane (Stroup) Missey, and remained a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area. On September 1, 1934 he was united in marriage to Phelma L. Jones at Bourbon. Clarence honorably served his country as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then worked as a maintenance man for the Ramsey Corporation for over fifteen years. He especially enjoyed raising bees and watermelons. He will be cherished and remembered as a man who was stern and strong.
He is survived by three sons, Albert Missey and wife, Karen, of Potosi, Missouri, Ralph Missey and wife, Erma, and Royce Missey and wife, Ruth, all of Leasburg, Missouri; one daughter, Clara Bell Mercer of Leasburg; two brothers, Charles Missey and wife, Alma, of Potosi and Lawrence Missey and wife, Jo Ann, of Victorville, California; two sisters, Laura Drennen of Potosi and Viola Kincaid of Bourbon; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Missey was preceded in death by two children, Clyde and Lillie Jo Missey, one stepson, Dean Jones, two brothers, Preston and Wilburn Missey, and two sisters, Martha Shear and Mae Jones.
Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the Bourbon Cemetery with Reverend Calvin Fowler officiating and concluding with military honors. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Vanda Humphrey
Vanda Humphrey of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2002 at the age of 83 years.
On May 14, 1918 Vanda was born to Albert and Effie (Farrar) Rodgers at Salem, Missouri. She was raised in the Cuba, Missouri area and attended school there. In 1939 Vanda was married to Edwin Ernest Campbell and to this marriage twin daughters, Connie and Bonnie were born. Mr. Campbell passed away in 1949 and in September of 1950 Vanda was married to Thomas A. (Al) Humphrey. This union was blessed with a third daughter, Judy. Vanda’s home was always open to her family and friends and she always enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren stopping by. Vanda was a member of Sullivan Chapter No. 105 Order of Eastern Star and Temple Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Henson and husband Howard and Judy Hoevelmann and husband Mike all of Sullivan, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, Margaret Rodgers of Sullivan and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Humphrey of St. Louis, Missouri, other relatives and friends. Along with her parents and husbands, Eddie and Al, Vanda was preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Campbell, a grandson Tom Henson, four brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 from Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
Everett L. Farrell
Everett L. Farrell of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at the age of 86 years.
Mr. Farrell was born on August 8, 1915 at Elmont, Missouri to George Edward and Lydia Laura (Havener) Farrell, and remained a lifelong resident of the Sullivan area. On September 28, 1940 he was united in marriage to Lena Thelma Groves in St. Louis. In addition to being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Everett worked as an operations engineer in the construction business. He enjoyed hunting raccoons and squirrels, as well as raising and riding horses. Everett was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God in Sullivan, and also a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge #69 A.F. & A.M. He will be remembered and cherished as a good man, who said what he meant, and meant what he said.
He is survived by two sons, George Farrell and wife, Jerine, and J. B. Farrell and wife, Sally, all of Sullivan; two daughters, Donna Schuler of Bismarck, Missouri and Mary Withington of Ellisville, Missouri; two sisters, Lillian Strain of St. Louis and Vera Jackson of Cahokia, Illinois; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Farrell was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Schmidt and Gertie Cunio.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2002 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Gary Oglesby officiating. Interment was in Schmidt Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2002 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made to BJC Hospice in memory of Everett L. Farrell.
Esther Mabel (Homfeldt) Nausley
Esther Mabel (Homfeldt) Nausley was born on December 2, 1907 at Oak Hill, Missouri. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Margaret (Merk) Homfeldt. She passed away at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 18 days.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret James and husband, Richard, of Steelville; three grandchildren, Karen Collins and husband, Bevan, of Guisborough, England, Kathryn James of Fairfax, Virginia, and Richard R. James and wife, Pamela, of O’Fallon, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Charles and Stephen Collins and Kristin and Bethany James; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Nausley was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Earl Souders, one sister, Lenora Dunton, and one infant great-grandson, Joshua Leo Collins.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2002 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Paul Gray officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Richard R. James, Charles Collins, Robert McMillian, Glenn Connor, Ted Pate, Dennis Dunton and Eric Schmidt. Visitation was from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. If desired, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Sullivan or to the First Baptist Church Memorial Library Fund in Steelville in memory of Esther M. Nausley.
Francis (Frank) Wehner
Francis A. Wehner of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at the age of 77 years.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Wehner, of Sullivan; three sons, Francis Wehner, Jr. and wife, Connie, of Modesto, California, John R. Wehner and wife, Sherry, of Cypress, California and Thomas L. Wehner and wife, Sandra, of Sullivan; six brothers, Eugene Wehner of St. Louis, Raymond Wehner of Eureka, Missouri, Lambert Wehner and wife, Virginia, of El Dorado, California, Leonard Wehner and wife, Betty, of Ballwin, Missouri, Thomas Wehner and wife, Beverly, of Springfield, Missouri, and Robert Wehner and wife, Jo Ann, of Rockwall, Texas; six sisters, Eleanor Dwyer, Martha Brown, Teri Huber and husband, Bill, and Roberta Stevenson, all of St. Louis, Mary Lou Kranz and husband, Bob, of Oceanside, California, and Peggy Hennessy and husband, Jerry, of Ballwin, Missouri; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2002 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Reverend Father Theodore Brunnert officiating. Interment will in the National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2002 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Robert C. Faller
Robert C. Faller of Sullivan, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2002 at the age of 93 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Leight and husband Robert of Berkeley, Missouri and Debra Jaeger and husband Don of Sullivan, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ted and Warren Faller both of St. Louis, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening from the Eaton Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. Visitation for Mr. Robert Faller will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Dorothy Louise Baxter
Dorothy Louise Drake of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 11, 2002 at the age of 91 years.
She is survived by one daughter; Pat Baxer and husband Gordon of Sullivan; one sister, Catherine Nicodemus of Wilmington, Ohio, three grandchildren, one step-grandchild, three great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild, other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 15, 2002 in Antioch Cemetery, Antioch, Ohio. Visitation for Mrs. Dorothy Drake will be from 4:30 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Those who desire make memorials to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Foundation or the M.S. Foundation.
Robert E. Whitson
Rob Whitson of Bourbon, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 8, 2002 at the age of 45 years.
He is survived by his wife Ginny of the family home, two daughter, Becky and Sarah Whitson both of the family home; his mother, Stella Whitson of Bourbon, Missouri, two sisters, Evelyn Brown and husband Roger of Pacific, Missouri and Judy Whitson of Florissant, Missouri, his mother-in-law Lucille Rapert of Bourbon, other relatives and many friends.

George D. Nicholas of Sullivan, passed away on Wednesday, March 06, 2002 at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Nicholas nee Siebern of the family home, one son Alan Nicholas and wife Dolores of New Haven, Missouri, two daughters, Lynda Kutter of St. Louis, Missouri, and Lana Kloppe and husband Larry of Washington, Missouri, four brothers, George M. Nicholas, Jr. of Buffalo, Missouri, Dean Nicholas of Texas, Dale Nicholas of Wichita, Kansas, and Terry Nicholas of Buffalo, Missouri, one sister, Jesse Glass of Buffalo, Missouri, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2002 at the National Cemetery Chapel, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. The family will receive friends in the Chapel shortly before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Lung Association or the American Cancer Association. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
