Forrest B. (Sonny) Radford, Sr.

Forrest B. (Sonny) Radford, Sr. of Bourbon passed away at his home on Friday, December 03, 2004 at the age of 61 years.

Sonny was born October 15, 1943 at St. Louis, Missouri to Francis and Lorraine Holtz Radford. He was a life-long resident of the Bourbon area and on September 2, 1960 was married to Nona Arlene Pennock at Steelville, Missouri. Seven children were born to this union. In the early 1960’s, Sonny was employed at Dan Rohrer’s O.K. Service Station in Bourbon and later at the Pea Ridge Mine for several years. Sonny is most remembered however as a carpenter in the Bourbon area. Many of the homes he built can be seen throughout the city and countryside. He was known as a big hearted individual who enjoyed joking around and was a very hard worker. His family and grandchildren meant the world to him. Sonny was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Bourbon and found pleasure in playing softball, shooting pool, and riding his motor scooter.

He is survived by his wife Nona of the family home; seven children, Burt Radford and fiancé Melissa Hopwood, Penny Branson and husband Dale, Renee Hofstetter and husband Bob, Jeanny King and husband Bob, Shannon Radford and wife Debbie, Lori Sampson all of Bourbon and Stacy Gibson and husband Jesse of St. James, Missouri; two sisters, Sharon Rhoads and husband Jim, of Inverness, Florida and Frances Ann Paquet of St. Louis; 20 grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Along with his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Politte.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, from the First Baptist Church of Bourbon with Pastors Greg Cook and Mike King officiating. Interment was in Bourbon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family desires memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Bourbon or the American Cancer Society in the name of Sonny Radford. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home.

Pamela Ann Kessler

Pamela Ann Kessler, formerly of Greensboro, N.C., passed away September 28, 2004 at the age of 51 years.

Pamela was born in Roseville, Michigan on December 9, 1952 to Lawrence Coffey and Rosemary Shunk Coffey. She married Carl Kessler and they raised one son, Jeff Kessler. Pamela worked for many years as a driver for Courier Express. She bowled in leagues through high school and was an avid bowler ever since. Besides bowling, she enjoyed darts and pool, but her passion was her grandchildren whom she loved very much. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Kessler, his wife Dawn and four grandchildren, Alicia, Brittany, Koeln, and Kole of Sullivan, Missouri, her mother, Rosemary Sheehan and step-father Edward of Roseville, Michigan, her brother Richard McKeown of Cleveland, Tennessee, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services for Pamela Kessler were conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with interment at Bourbon Cemetery. All arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

Floyd C. Isgrigg

Floyd C. Isgrigg of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the age of 92 years.

Mr. Isgrigg was born June 4, 1911 at Bonne Terre, Missouri to Fred and Martha (Webb) Isgrigg. He had lived the majority of his life in the Sullivan and Bourbon area for over 60 years. On February 24, 1932 he was married to Martha Mercer at Cadet, Missouri and to this marriage five children were born of which an infant daughter preceded him in death. My. Isgrigg was employed as a carpenter in heavy construction and retired in 1971. He was a member of True Vine Baptist Church of Sullivan.

He survived by three sons, Clifford Isgrigg of Bourbon, Edward Isgrigg of Sullivan and John Isgrigg of Belle, Missouri, one daughter, Anna Bell Halmick of Springfield, Missouri, two brothers, Homer and Gene Isgrigg both of Bonne Terre, Missouri, two sisters, Norma Clark of St. Charles, Missouri and Becky Smith of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Mr. Isgrigg was preceded in death by his wife Martha on October 24, 1971, an infant daughter, Neva June Isgrigg, four brothers, Jess, Ed, Jim, and Chester Isgrigg and by four sisters, Lola Kerlagon, Irene Venable, Florence Pulliam and Hazel Isgrigg.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2004 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Lindell Vawter officiating. Interment was in Scott Cemetery, Anthonies Mill, Missouri. Visitation for Mr. Floyd Isgrigg was held from 4:30 until 9 p.m. Tuesday evening from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Vincent J. Rivet

Vincent J. Rivet of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Friday, January 30, 2004 at the age of 83 years.

Mr. Rivet was born November 13, 1920 at St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Alice (Marks) Rivet. He was raised in the St. Louis area later graduating from the Hadley Trade School. Mr. Rivet’s vocation in life was that of an electrician and worked through the I.B.E.W. Local Union No. 1. He honorably served his country during W.W.II with the Army Air Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting and took pleasure in spoiling his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Rivet was a member of Saint Anthony Parish in Sullivan.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan with the Rev. Theodore Brunnert officiating. Interment was in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Vincent Rivet will be held from 4:30 until 9:00 p.m., Monday evening at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Memorial contributions to St. Anthony School are appreciated.

Junior A. Brown

Junior A. Brown of Sullivan passed away Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the age of 77 years.

Junior was born January 5, 1926 to the late Elmer A. Brown and Mildred Bottemurller in St. Louis, MO. On September 27, 1944, Junior entered the U.S. Army where he served until March 3, 1947. During his first tour of duty in the U.S. Second Army, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal, Purple Heart Medal, and WWII Victory Medal. He reenlisted in the regular army and rose to the rank of Technician 5th grade, serving Battery B, Second Field Artillery Battalion of the U.S. Army. On December 19, 1959, he married Melba E. Blankenship at St. Clair, MO. During the next 40 years, Junior and Melba enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren play in various sporting events. They never missed a ballgame and always supported their team. Junior also enjoyed taking long walks and scenic drives. He lived in the Sullivan area all of his life and was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation for 33 years until his retirement. Junior was a family man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart.

He is survived by one son, Allen Brown, one daughter, Debra Sanders both of Sullivan, three grandchildren, Heather Lucas and husband, Kurt, Alicia Sanders and friend, Daxell Poebla all of Sullivan, Hobie Brown of Sullivan, five great-grandchildren, Jacob Dace, Cole Sanders, Taylor, Aley and Kaleb Lucas, two brothers, Curtis Brown and wife, Ida, and Ross Brown and wife, Frances all of Sullivan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Along with his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Brown, and one sister, Norma Farrar.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2003 from the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with pastor Tom Snavely officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Missouri Baptist Hospital of Sullivan, Oncology Department in memory of Junior Brown.

Cleo C. Cline

Cleo C. Cline of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at the age of 64 years.

Cleo was born June 12, 1939 at Webster City, Iowa to Keith and Mildred (Lyle) Cline. He was raised in Sullivan and graduated from Sullivan High School in 1957. Cleo held the record for 40 years for most points scored in a basketball game. He attended and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in business. Cleo also played basketball all four years at the university. After college, Cleo returned back to Sullivan where he ran the former Sullivan Candy and Tobacco Company with his father, Keith. In 1985 he operated the Nu-Way Cleaners in Sullivan until the business was sold in August of 2003. His hobby was farming, mainly cattle and horses. He was also a long-time member of the Sullivan Fire Department where he had been director of the board for 12 years. Cleo was past president of the Sullivan Saddle Club and had coached Sullivan Khoury League for several years. On June 24, 1989 he was united in marriage to Rhonda Ivie at St. Louis, Missouri. Together they made their home on his farm near Spring Bluff. Cleo was known as everybody’s best friend and he was also giving towards others. Along with basketball, Cleo’s favorite sport was deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife Rhonda of the family home, one brother, Kent Cline of Sullivan, a sister, Marlys Thompson and husband Jim of St. Louis, nieces, Jennifer Siwinski, Tricia Cobb, Misty Bouse and Brandi Ivie, nephews, Kyle Cline, Jarrod Ivie and Jason Ivie, a great-nephew, Keegan Cobb, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2003 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with interment in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials are desired to BJC Hospice in memory of Cleo Cline.

Jerry D. Lattimore, Sr.

Jerry D. Lattimore, Sr. of Sullivan passed away at his home Monday, November 17, 2003 at the age of 77 years.

Jerry was born on September 25, 1926 to the late Thomas W. Lattimore, Sr. and Mildred A McDaniel Lattimore at Sullivan, Missouri. He attended Sullivan schools and was a graduate of the Class of 1944. Jerry was very proud to have honorably served his country in the United States Army from December 1944 to November 1946 with the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion, 11th Airborne Division. On September 5, 1947 he was married to Florence Bailey at Sullivan, and they celebrated 56 years of marriage. He was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation and retired as Chief Inspector after 42 years of service. Jerry loved baseball and was an All Star catcher. His love for the game continued throughout his life as he coached Little League and supported his son and grandchildren as they played. He was musically talented and loved to play the guitar and fiddle. He played in many bands and was well known for his guitar picking. He enjoyed playing for senior groups or for anyone who enjoyed music. He was a member of the Sullivan Oddfellow Lodge #156, and a member of Sullivan Masonic Lodge No. 69 A.F. & A.M., where he was well-known for his excellent chili. He was a past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the First Christian Church of Sullivan. Jerry was a man of many talents, but the thing he will be most remembered for was his love for his family and many friends he made throughout his life. He will be forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Lattimore nee Bailey of Sullivan, one son, Jerry D. Lattimore, Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Bourbon, five grandchildren, Mathew Lattimore and wife, Courtnie, of Farmington, Missouri and Leslie Lattimore of St. Louis, J.W. Brandt and wife, Alison, of Sullivan, Joe and Jacob Brandt both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, four great-grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Lattimore and Beau and Reagan Brandt, one brother, Thomas Lattimore and wife, Maudie, of Higginsville, Missouri, two brothers in law, Darrel Bailey and wife, LaRae, George Bailey and wife, Anna Belle all of Bourbon, two sisters in law, Wanda Bailey, of Sullivan and June Sites of Tucson, Arizona, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one son, Bradford L. Lattimore, and three brothers in law, Marcus and Larry (Pete) Bailey and Rev. Robert Sites.

Memorial funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2003 from the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. In lieu of flowers memorials are desired to BJC Hospice of Jude Children’s Research Center in memory of Jerry D. Lattimore, Sr.

Tony J. Hirzy

Tony J. Hirzy of Bourbon, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at the age of 92 years.

Mr. Hirzy was born on May 12, 1911 at St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph and Gisela (Baar) Hirzy. He moved to the Bourbon area as a youngster where he farmed the majority of his life raising cattle. On June 30, 1944 he was married to Lillie Fern Harrison at Steelville, Missouri. Along with farming, Mr. Hirzy was employed at Jim’s Service Station for over 25 years as an attendant and deliveryman of gas and oil. He retired in 1973. Mr. Hirzy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon and was known as an honest man who was kind and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Fern of the family home, two brothers, Louis Hirzy and Edward Hirzy and wife Chris all of DeSoto, Missouri, three sisters, Marie Kreiner of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gisela Moorcroft of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Lena Mair of Wildwood, Missouri, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with his parents Mr. Hirzy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alice Marie Hirzy, three brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday from the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon with interment in Bourbon Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Tony Hirzy will be from 4:30 until 8 p.m. on Thursday from the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon.

Rosa Degner

Rosa Degner of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the age of 84 years.

Mis Degner was born at Bourbon, Missouri on February 15, 1918 to Oscar and Mary Diehl Degner. She had made her home in the Sullivan area for many years and was known for her love of gospel music and while able, would attend many of the local music concerts with her half-brother Randolph Diehl. In the past several months, she was a resident of Redwood Manor in Bourbon.

She is survived by many friends in the Sullivan area.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2003 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Interment was in Dutch Hill Cemetery.
