She was the loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She had been predeceased by her father, Edward Thiemann, mother, Dora Thiemann nee Straatmann, and her husband, Samuel Joerling. She was a long time member of Friedens U.C.C. - New Melle, and a participant in Ladies Fellowship. She was a member of New Melle VFW Ladies Auxillary, and the Mary & Martha Fellowship.
