Robert D. Hodges

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Robert D. Hodges, 56, of Centerview, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Western Missouri Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabeth, Ark.
Burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.

Walter 'Hayes' Feldman

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Walter "Hayes" Feldman, 41, of Centerview died Jan. 25, 2012, at his home.
Hayes was born Dec. 10, 1970, in Sedalia. Hayes attended Crest Ridge High School and worked in the construction business all of his adult life.
Hayes was deeply devoted to his children. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he shared his skills with his children, nieces, nephews and friends. He once put a kite on the end of a fishing pole and it went high up in the sky; he then gave to his nieces and nephews to reel in. Hayes was just learning the game of golf and enjoying the game. He loved to spend time with friends and family.
Hayes is survived by his parents, Ted R. and Jayne Feldman of Holden; his children, Jacob Hayes Feldman of Centerview; Judd Walter Ward-Feldman of Warrensburg; and stepson Joe Ward of Warrensburg; his brothers, Rex Feldman and wife Susan of Kansas City; David Feldman and wife Jill of Centerview; sisters, Sheria Yancey and husband Jesse of St. Clair, Mo.; Ardith Huey and Jeff Gilliard of Rockledge, Fla.; plus many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Theodore and Mary Feldman and Loren and Constance Peerson; one niece, Elisa Jane Feldman; and great-nephew, Christian William Feldman.
Visitation will be held at Sweeney-Phillips Funeral & Holdren Home in Warrensburg from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012. Services for Hayes will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012. Father Pete Savidge from St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Holden and Fr. Joseph Miller C.PP.S. from Sacred Heart will be officiating.
Pallbearers are Zachary Yancey, Christopher Huey, Derek Feldman, Matt Venable, Tony Hillsman and Ron Goodwin. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
Contributions are requested in lieu of flowers to the Walter Hayes Feldman Memorial Fund and can be left at the funeral home.

Edward W. Strenkowski

KNOB NOSTER, Mo. -- Edward W. Strenkowski, 87, of Knob Noster, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Old Forge, Pa., the son of Boleslous and Mary (Zielienski) Strenkowski.
Oct. 7, 2002, he married Adelaida Ancheta in Sedalia, Mo.

Renee Constance Youngcourt

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- Renee Constance Youngcourt, 61, of Warrensburg, ended her brave battle with cancer on the morning of April 11, 2012.

Thomas O. White

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Thomas O. White, 56, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at his daughter’s home in Olathe, Kan.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1955, in Omaha, Neb., the son of Francis and Wilma (Waymire) White.
On Dec. 28, 1974, he married Linda Salazar in Brookston, Ind.
Tom graduated in 1974 from Frontier High School in Brookston, Ind. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, serving 20 years and retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1994. After his military service, Tom attended Central Missouri State University from 1994 to 1996. He worked for G.E. in Warrensburg in the Wiring Department from 1997 until he retired in December 2010. Tom loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and doing yard work.
Tom is survived by his wife Linda; one daughter, Brooke N. Stith and husband Micah of Olathe, Kan.; one son, Jason M. White of Warrensburg; his mother, Wilma White of Brookston, Ind.; one brother, Steven White of Brookston, Ind.; three grandchildren: Paiton, Rori, and Baylie Stith, all of Olathe, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis White and one brother, William White.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Chaplain Kevin Hostettler of Whiteman Air Force Base officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jason White, Micah Stith, Dean Garske, and Dan Gauvin.
Cremation is planned after the service.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri State Veterans Home in Warrensburg and can be left at the funeral home.

John (Jack) Clay
HOLDEN, Mo. -- John “Jack” Clay, 91, of Holden, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at home.
He was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Edgeworth, Pa., a son of Neal Benjamin and Katherine Mary (Geiss) Clay. He was educated in the Pittsburgh area and later lived in Lenexa and Overland Park, Kan., and Lee’s Summit, Mo., before moving to Holden four years ago.
Jack married Jane Moore Hanst April 7, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio. She preceded him in death July 10, 1986. On Nov. 7, 1987, he was wedded to Marilyn (Dillon) Mickey in Prairie Village, Kan.
Mr. Clay was a metallurgist and president of American Alloys in Kansas City, Mo. He was later an executive with S-G Metals Industries, also in Kansas City.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Holden and a longtime member of Milburn Country Club in Overland Park.
He leaves his wife, Marilyn, of the home; two sons, John David Clay (Shawna), Olathe, Kan., and Michael Scott Clay (Wendy), Lenexa, Kan.; one daughter, Kathleen Moore Clay, Cordova, Tenn.;three step-children, Robert E. Mickey Jr. (Linda), of Holden, Ann Burns (John), Fort Worth, Texas, and Laurel Reed (Joel), Austin, Texas; one sister, Edna Machesney, Glen Ellyn, Pa.; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
A private graveside service will be held at Johnson County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, the Rev. Jim Stovall officiating; music by Shannon O’Shea.
Memorial contributions are suggested in lieu of flowers to Holden First Christian Church.

Sister Martha Wickham

RUMA, Ill. -- Sister Martha Wickham, ASC, 98, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Ruma Community Center in Ruma, Ill.
She was born to the late Thomas Nixson and Ethel Dulcey Glover in Fulton, Mo. Feb. 8, 1914.
She married Fred O. Wickham, Sr. in Jefferson City, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1983.
After the death of her husband Fred, Sister Martha joined the Adorers of the Blood of Christ and made first vows on June 22, 1986 and final vows on Oct. 8, 1989.
Sister Martha raised a family of two daughters and three sons. Her community ministry was in pastoral care and as an organist. She served in Pinckneyville, Ill. (1985-1987), Murphysboro, Ill. (1987-1988), Belleville, Ill. (1988-1990), Branson, Mo. (1990-1993), and retired at the Ruma Center in 1993.
Sister Martha is survived by two daughters: Lucia Mueller of Jefferson City, Mo.: and Pricilla Holloway of Dallas, Texas; two sons: Michael Wickham of Calif.; and Brad Wickham of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter in-law, Judy Wickham of Warrensburg; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and community members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Fred Wickham, Jr., on Nov. 19, 1994.
Funeral mass will held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Ruma Center Chapel, in Ruma, Ill.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Sunset Hill Cemetery, with Father Joseph Miller, C.PP.S. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the ASC Retirement Fund, 4233 Sulphur Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63109, or can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.

Billy Donald Miller

CHILHOWEE, Mo. -- Billy Donald Miller, 82, of Chilhowee, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at his residence.
Billy was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Appleton City, Mo., son of Walter and Bertha Mae (Foster) Miller. He married Cora Mae Bean Oct. 16, 1948, in Appleton City. The couple made their home there until 1979, at which time they moved to Chilhowee.
Billy was employed with Continental Grain Co. for several years. Later, he worked for Ralston-Purina, retiring in 1991. He was an avid hunter. He loved to run his dogs.
He was a member of Chilhowee Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cora; four children: Shirley Johnson and husband, James of Chilhowee; Mary Woods and husband, Robert of Knob Noster; Walter Miller and wife, Sue of Chilhowee; and David Miller and wife, Vickie of Durham, N.C.; daughter-in-law: Irene Miller of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Wayne Miller, and two sisters: Geraldine Bowlin and Mary Louise Snodgrass.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden, with the Rev. Matt Goodsell of Chilhowee Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Carpenter Cemetery west of Chilhowee.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Thomas, Billy Donald Miller, Stanlee Miller, Malcom Thomas, David Miller Jr., Mino Gingerich, James Johnson and Robert Woods.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Chilhowee Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
