Huston C. Goodwin, Sr.
September 2, 1935 - April 8, 2012
Huston Clay Goodwin, Sr., 76 of Knob Noster, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Huston was born September 2, 1935 in Higginsville, Missouri son of David Houston and Dorothy Onedia (Powell) Goodwin. He was raised in Knob Noster and graduated from C. C. Hubbard High School in Sedalia. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served during the Korean War. While in the military, Huston received his certificate in heating and cooling. He worked at Whiteman Air Force Base, in base supply, at one time. More recently, he was associated with the base commissary, until retiring. He was married to Laura B. Wright on April 24, 1958 in Knob Noster. He was later united in marriage to Anne Shields. Huston was a member of Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church in Warrensburg. He loved fishing and doing mechanical work on cars and lawnmowers. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2591 in Sedalia.
Survivors include seven children: Houston C. Goodwin, Jr. and wife, Joan of Knob Noster, MO; Dorothalene A. Goodwin of Sedalia, MO; Lorna J. Jackson and husband, Joel of San Antonio, TX; Phyllis R. Bryant of Overland Park, KS; Lynn D. Goodwin of Fairport, New York; Nina I. Garcia & husband, Joaquin of Knob Noster, MO; and Kollin C. Goodwin of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters: Marcella Butler and husband, Adolphus of Sedalia, MO; and Velma Lee of Knob Noster, MO; four brothers: Elzie Goodwin and wife, Clarice of Independence, MO; William Goodwin of Warrensburg, MO; Ernest Goodwin and wife, Kim of Columbia, South Carolina; and Donald Goodwin and wife, Dawn of Knob Noster, MO; twenty two grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; two sons: William Maupins and Raymond Goodwin; a great grandson: Disaya Pittman; four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Rev. Morris Collins of Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Knob Noster Cemetery, with Military Graveside Honors by the Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Chris Goodwin, Lamar Barnes, Michael Pittman, Ryan Pittman, Brad Goodwin and Marcus Goodwin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mildred I. Hendrickson
July 25, 1926 - April 11, 2012
Mildred I. Hendrickson, 85 of Warrensburg, Missouri formerly of Kansas City and Overland Park passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
Mildred was born July 25, 1926 in Kansas City, daughter of Rufus Y. and Mamie I. (Britt) Teter. She graduated from Thomas Hill High School near Macon, Missouri. She was married to Virgil E. Huber. He preceded her in death. Mildred resided in Kansas City for the majority of her adult life. She was an Administrative Assistant with Gas Service Company for several years. She was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Hendrickson on January 11, 1986 in Overland Park and the couple made their home there. Kenneth also preceded her in death. For the past two years, Mildred had lived in Warrensburg. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises.
Survivors include her brother, Charles Teter and wife, Marjorie of Warrensburg, MO; two sister-in-laws: Juanita Teter of Peculiar, MO and Norma Jean Teter of Callao, MO; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers: J. W. “Bill” Teter, Raymond “Jack” Teter and Albert “Donald “ Teter.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City.

Westle Robert Mills
November 20, 1923 - April 14, 2012
Westle Robert Mills, 88 Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
Westle was born Nov. 20, 1923 in Independence, MO son of Westel Frank and Laura Edith (Willsey) Mills. He moved during his teenage years to Rich Hill, MO where he met the future love of his life, Donna Flo McAlister. He graduated from Rich Hill High School. Wes Enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp, having served in WW II Pacific Theatre as a radar operator. After the war, he was a student at Central Missouri State Teachers College. He graduated with a major in English and a minor in Physics. He was an auto mechanic by profession, until retirement. Wes married Donna Flo McAlister June 2, 1949. She preceded him in death Valentine’s Day, 2003. Wes loved his cat Caddie, his morning coffee group, reading books, listening to music, and old movies on Turner Classic Movies and the Western Channel.
Survivors include four children: Stephen Gilbert Mills and wife Janet of Edwards, MO; Laurie Anne Hein and husband Jeff, of Olathe, KS and their children, Rachel and Gregory; Barbara Lee McKiddy of Chilhowee, MO; and Timothy Mac Mills of Warrensburg, and his children, Carson and Collin. In addition to his wife Donna, Wes was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dave McKiddy on March 9, 2012.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Elder John Sartin, Church of Jesus Christ Warrensburg Restoration Branch officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg with Military Graveside Honors by Warrensburg Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2513 and American Legion Post, #131. Pallbearers will be Carson Mills, Collin Mills, Jeff Hein, Greg Hein, Ed Phillips and Ralph Younger.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Candace L. del Prado
April 17, 1952 - April 19, 2012
Candace Lynne del Prado, 60 of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Candace was born April 17, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri daughter of Clyde and Betty (Bliss) Perkins. She was married to Joseph del Prado on January 19, 2004 in Warrensburg. She had been a resident of Warrensburg for nearly 20 years. Candace was employed at EnerSys at one time.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; two daughters: Tammy Catinella of Florida and Melissa J. Warness of Warrensburg; two sons: Tim Hack of Phoenix, Arizona and Joseph D. Warness of Warrensburg, Missouri; two sisters: Sharon Pfeiffer and husband, Joseph of Phoenix, Arizona; and Melanie McCormack and husband, Donald, also of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents.
Memorial graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.

David Michael Mahnken
January 26, 1959 - January 25, 2013
David Michael Mahnken, 53 of Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at his residence.
Dave was born January 26, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Keith W. and Doras J. (Duncan) Mahnken. He graduated from Holden High School in 1977. He was united in marriage to Brenda Diane Nichol on June 14, 1986 in Warrensburg. Dave was known locally as “The Dirt Man.” He hauled dirt, gravel, and sand in addition to doing excavating work. His hobbies included playing his guitars, building houses, gardening, woodworking and welding. He also built a race car.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; Mother, Doras Mahnken of Holden, MO, three daughters: Wendy Hoskins and husband, Brian of Springfield, MO; Melissa Mahnken of Warrensburg, MO and Maria Mahnken and fiancé, Kevin Connaughton of Springfield, MO; sister: Mary Kae Diaz and husband, Richard of Independence, MO and four grandchildren: Anthony Brown, Valerie Brown, John Hoskins and Zach Hoskins. Father and Mother In-laws: Johnny and Joan Nichol of Warrensburg, MO. He was proceeded in death by his father Keith W. Mahnken and a nephew, Joseph.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Rev. Bill Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Cemetery, south of Kingsville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Grace Inman
August 25, 1936 - January 24, 2013
Grace “Miss Grace” Inman, 76 of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
Grace was born August 25, 1936 in Ashburn, Georgia, daughter of Leonard T. and Mildred L. (Farmer) Tinsley. She graduated from high school in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Jerry D. Inman on October 2, 1953 in Albany, Georgia. Jerry’s military career took the couple all over the country. They resided in Albany, Georgia; Riverside, California; Tonapah, Nevada; San Antonio, Texas; Fairbanks, Alaska; Tucson, Arizona; Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Victorville, California. Upon retirement, they moved to Pleasant Hill. Grace and Jerry eventually lived in Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs prior to moving to Warrensburg in 1999. She was very actively involved in children’s ministries for the past fifty years and she taught backyard bible church at the various military bases. She was also an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught children’s worship to two and three year olds. Grace loved the beach, reading and traveling. She was a very adventurous lady.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two daughters: Kathy Inman and fiancé, Randy Smith of Odessa, MO and Vada Terry and husband, Pat of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren: Sarah Henks and husband, Daniel of Greenwood, MO and Jennifer Terry of Lee’s Summit, MO; three great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Ellie and Trace Henks; stepfather: Lawrence Bird of Fayetteville, NC and several extended adopted military families. She was preceded in death by both parents; an infant brother, Benjamin Tinsley and Grandma Lula Farmer.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Rich Ricard officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville. Pallbearers will be Pat Terry, Randy Smith, Paul Terry, Daniel Henks, Jon Wade and Ronnie Goring.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

Linda Sue Cox, 62 of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Western Missouri Medical Center.
Linda was born March 24, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of Roy A. and Sadie E. (Johnson) Mapes. She graduated from Warrensburg High School. She was united in marriage to Terry L. Cox on December 12, 1987 in Leeton. The couple made their home in Leeton for several years prior to moving to Warrensburg area. Linda loved her pets, tending to her flower gardens, going to garage sales, fishing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and grandnieces and nephews.
Survivors include four children: Diona Castillo of Kansas City, MO; Chad Cameron of Leeton, MO; Paul Cameron and wife, Leslie of Centerview, MO and Tina Cox of Warrensburg, MO; mother: Sadie Mapes of Warrensburg, MO; sister: Shirley “SAM” Collins and husband, Mickey of Leeton, MO; brother: Russell Mapes and wife, Trease of Deep Water, MO; three grandchildren: Adisynne Newell, Madilynne Newell and Sidney Cameron; father and mother-in-law: Donald and Margaret Cox of Chilhowee, MO; sister-in-law: Pam Simmons and husband, Jerry of Warrensburg, MO; five brothers-in-law: Larry Cox of Warrensburg, MO; David Cox and wife, Ellie of Raytown, MO; Frank Cox of Springfield, MO; Pat Cox and wife, Ellen of Arkansas and Paul Cox of Raytown, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and special friends and neighbors, Ross and Brenda Chambers of Warrensburg. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother-in-law, Eddie Cox.
Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.

Donald H. Hensley
September 19, 1949 - January 20, 2013
Donald Howard Hensley, 63 of Leeton, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
Don was born September 19, 1949 in Harriman, Tennessee, son of William D. and Florence D. (Grace) Hensley. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a drill sergeant in the United States Army, having served in Germany, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. Don’s final assignment was Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, where he retired from in 1997. He enjoyed working with stain glass, painting, fishing and golf.
Survivors include four daughters: Doris (Tom) Schnatz of Leeton, MO; Deanna (Joe) Griffith of Colorado Springs, CO; Dawn (Roger) Winsauer of Russellville, AK and Amy (Jason) Farlee of Tucson, AZ; six sisters; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Leeton Christian Church with Pastor Steve Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Mineral Creek Cemetery at Leeton, with Military Graveside Honors provided by United States Army Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
