Frederick "Scotty" Miller, 62, of St. Peters, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.
The son of Gould and Lela (Scott) Miller, he was born May 26, 1947 in High Hill, Missouri.
On April 21, 2001, he married Nancy (Walker) Miller in Earth City, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Randy and wife, Jennifer Miller, of Fulton, Donald Miller, of St. Peters, Keven and wife Cristin Cowan, of St Peters; two daughters, Lorissa and husband, Justin Russelberg, of St. Peters, Kerrie Cowan, of St. Charles and fiance‚ David Meyers; one brother, Doug and wife, Vera Miller of Lake Ozark; eight grandchildren, Adam Miller, Summer Carson, Megan Carson, Austin Cowan, Tori Meyers, Blake Meyers, Heidi Meyers, Gavin Miller; one great grand daughter, Taylor Miller; five nieces, Tonya Kollack, Marcy Bizelli, Jan Piland, Gina Roberts, Cindy Miller; and two great-nephews, Bryce and Brody Kollack.
Scotty grew up and spent most of his life in New Florence, where his parents owned a grocery store.
He was a member of VFW Post #5327 Men's Auxiliary in Wentzville, Sons of Amvets and Sons of American Legion in St. Peters, Gold Wing Riders Association, Associate Member Vietnam Veterans of America, and The Patriot Guard Rider.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 8 p.m. at Ingersoll Chapel for Funeral & Cremation Service at 211 Boone Street in Troy. The Patriot Guard will lead a procession from Ingersoll Chapel to New Florence Cemetery beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009.
Shirley Rodgers, 83, of O'Fallon, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Ill., died at 4:47 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Feb. 5, 1926, in rural Pike County, Ill., a daughter of Charles Henry and Minnie Wombles Ferguson. She married Paul J. Rodgers on Nov. 5, 1945, in Klamath Falls, Ore. He survives.
Shirley graduated from W.I.U. in Macomb, Ill., with a teaching degree. She taught at the Spring Hill School near Pike Station in rural Pike County before moving to the northern California and southern Oregon region. She and her husband returned to the Midwest, settling in O'Fallon in 1962.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Paul J. Rodgers, of O'Fallon; a son, C.J (Joan) Rodgers, of Wellsville, Kan.; a daughter, Shari (James) Carnahan, of Silex; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, conducted by Bro. Don Hannel, were held Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. Burial followed at the Perry Wells Cemetery near Pleasant Hill. Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
A Memorial service for William Tony Turner, 77, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Clarksville, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009, at the New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Rev. John Zellmer, church pastor, will officiate with inurnment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Mr. Turner died Wednesday morning, November 4, 2009, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix.
Born June 22, 1932, in Clarksville, he was the son of Loyal and Aretta Herrington Turner, Sr. He was united in marriage on November 12, 1962 in France to Odette H. Fournial.
He was a retired firefighter for the United States Air Force.
Survivors include one son, Alan Turner and his wife, Louise, of Elsberry; three step-daughters, Martine Slusser and her husband, Ed, of St. Louis, Patricia Barole of California, and Michelle Collinet of France; ten grandchildren, which includes Mona Turner and Alan Turner, Jr. of Elsberry, and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Loyal Turner, Jr. and his wife, Opal, of Champaign, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the New Hope Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Darlene Ruth Higgins of Winfield, 69, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mark Ford, pastor of River Oaks Church in Wentzville, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield.
Mrs. Higgins, 69, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at her home in Winfield.
Born September 30, 1940, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Thurman and Doris Potthast Thompson. She was a 1957 graduate of Wentzville High School.
She was united in marriage on December 22, 1961, in Ellisville, to Robert Wayne Higgins. This union was blessed with four children: Kenny, Susie, Debbie and Bruce.
Mrs. Higgins was a lifelong member of the Wentzville VFW #5327 Ladies Auxiliary and served as past president. She was also a member of the Winfield Lions Club.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert Higgins, of Winfield; two sons, Kenny Higgins and his wife, Kelly, of Potosi, and Bruce Higgins, of Winfield; two daughters, Susie Bryant, of Moscow Mills and Debbie Higgins, of Bowling Green; eleven grandchildren, Tara Crittendon, Robert Kallery, Jennifer Higgins, Shawn Campbell, Cody Higgins, Taylor Higgins, Jessica Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Nick Higgins, Alex Bryant, and Hunter Higgins; four great-grandchildren: Jayda Higgins, Grant Kallery, Ethan Crittendon, and Jordan Reed; several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.

Bob Daniels, 83, of Troy, formerly of Olney, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Stoddard to James and Iva (Massey) Daniels. His mother died when Bob was only 9 months old. His father later remarried, and Bob was the oldest of 13 children. He married the love of his life, Vera Rice, on Feb. 9, 1945, in Bloomfield. They were blessed with a son, Ken.
Bob had been employed for over 30 years with the Behle Material Co. in Berkley, driving a truck.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vera Daniels, of Troy; his son, Ken Daniels, of Troy; his seven siblings, Laura Browing and husband, Hubert, of Puxico, Betty McLeary and husband, Noah, of Moscow Mills, Bonnie Green, of Puxico, Vera Louise Alberternst and husband, Melvin, of Moscow Mills, Ilene Robertson and husband, John, of Troy, Lonnie Daniels and wife, Gladys, of Troy, and Hazel Christsen and husband, Dee, of Sunset, Utah; two grandsons, Jeffery Daniels and wife, Susie, of Houston, Texas, and Josh Daniels and wife, Laura, of St. Charles; his sister-in-law, Viola Daniels, of Troy; two great-grandchildren, Robert Daniels and Emilie Daniels; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home in Troy. Officiating will be the Rev. Kwon, minister of Moscow Mills United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Troy City Cemetery in Troy.

Robert J. Pesold Jr., 52, of Troy, passed away, Monday, November 16, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born July 26, 1957, in St. Louis, the son of Robert J. and Norma Lee Pesold Sr. After attending the local schools he attended college, and then set off into the work force. Not long after, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Jean Mayo. Together, they raised four wonderful children, Robert, Matthew, Christina, and Rachel. Roberts He worked as a concrete truck driver. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 29 years, Jean M. Pesold; his two sons: Robert Pesold III and wife, Tara, of St. Peters, Matthew Pesold, of Troy, and two daughters, Christina Pesold of Troy and Rachel Pesold and Daniel Chaves of St. Louis; his beloved father, Robert J. Pesold Sr, of St. Louis. He is further survived by two sisters: Barbara "Robbie" Bahr and husband, Matt, of Chesterfield, Mo, and Joyce Kopecky, of Troy; his mother-n-law, Delores Mayo of O'Fallon; three brother-n-laws, Robert Mayo and wife, Jean, of Florissant, Michael Mayo and wife, Mary, of Chagrins Falls, Ohio, David (Diane) Mayo and wife, Diane, of O'Fallon.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 10 am at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home in Troy, the Rev. Darrell Alley officiating. Interment will follow in the Troy City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Edith Bethmann Obrecht, 92, of O'Fallon, died on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1917 to Theodore F. and Julia M. Bethman in St. Peters.
She is survived by seven children: Judy Sigmund and husband, Jerry, Dottie Schulte and husband, Herb, Glen Obrecht and wife, Kate, Betty Isbell and husband, George, David Obrecht and wife, Diane, Barbara Kieffer and husband, Marty, and Mary Karll and husband, Frank; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Edith was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Barnabas Parish since its founding and served as the first president of the Ladies Guild. She was a church quilter, member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, Birthright, MO Extension Club, O'Fallon Historical Society, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Happy Neighbors. She drove for Meals on Wheels to age 82 and served as a volunteer at St. Joseph West Hospital.
The family is being served by The Baue Funeral Home, 311 Wood Street, O'Fallon, MO, where visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 1400 North Main Street, O'Fallon, MO.
Interment was in Assumption Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul of St. Barnabas or Masses.
Funeral services for William E. Cohea, 77, of Clarksville, were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Mo. The Rev. Jason Hamilton, assisted by Rev. Ben Teague, officiated. Burial was in the Jordan-Buffalo Cemetery near Louisiana with military honors by members of the American Legion Post 370. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at the funeral home.
Mr. Cohea passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at the Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.
He was born April 19, 1932, in Clarksville, to George Edward Cohea and Beulah Elizabeth Day Cohea. He married Jeanette Rose Mills on June 24, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in Elsberry and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons William Cohea Jr. and wife, Lesa, of Elsberry, Tim Cohea, of Annada, Joe Cohea and wife, Patricia, of Elsberry and David Cohea and wife, Dixi, of Troy; five grandsons, one granddaughter and a sister, Frances Colon, of St. Charles.
He graduated from Silex High School in Silex. He had been employed as a machinist for McDonnell Aircraft Company in St. Louis for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and had received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, The United Nations Service Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, a member of Machinist Local 837 in St. Louis and a member of the American Legion Post No. 349 in Clarksville.
