Mrs. Golvia Louise Roberts, 80, of Troy, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.
Louise was born October 25, 1929, in Beach Grove, Ark., the daughter of William E. and M. Frances (Owen) Breckenridge. As a young child, she enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing with her brother and sisters. After attending the local schools, she went on to attend business school. On July 11, 1952, she married the love of her life, Billy C. Roberts, in Piggott Ark. To this union 6 children were born. Louise worked hard caring for her family, and working as a seamstress. For many years, she was a faithful member of the Fairground Road Church of Christ in Troy. She worked for over 25 years at Bobbin-a-long Garment Factory in Elsberry, Mo. Louise is survived by her sons: Mark A. Roberts, of Troy, Franklin E. Roberts, of Surprise, AZ, Calvin Dean and wife, Norma, Roberts of Hawk Point, Mo, her daughters: Gail Collette and husband, Bob, of Doniphan, , Karen Diane Cline and husband, Wayne, of Doniphan, and Frances Marie Lash and husband, Bill, of Troy. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, one brother; J.R. Breckenridge and wife, Mary, of Paragould, AR, and 3 sisters: Wanda Rhoades, of Paragould, Lucille Adams of Paragould, AR, and Ruthie Grooms of Paragould, AR.
Visitation was held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St., Troy, Mo, 63379. Also visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould, AR.
Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children's Home.
The funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at 10:30 a.m at Heath Funeral Home, in Paragould, AR. Pastor L.R. Smith officiated. Interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery, Paragould, AR.

A Memorial Gathering for Leonard Clement Schulte, 75, of Winfield, was held from 2 - 6 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
Mr. Schulte passed away Thursday morning, November 5, 2009, at his home near Winfield.
Born July 9, 1934 in Old Monroe, he was the son of George William and Catherine Caroline Dreisewerd Schulte. He was raised in the Old Monroe community and lived most of his life in southern Lincoln County. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. He was united in marriage on February 4, 1961 in Old Monroe to Diane Gladys Graeff. This union was blessed with three children: Kevin, Kenneth and Cindy. He worked for many years as a union commercial plumber for PED (Plumbing Engineering Design) and Murphy, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Plumbers Local #562 in St. Louis. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed duck hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Diane Schulte, of Winfield; two sons: Kevin Schulte and his wife, Brenda, and their children Danielle and Zachariah, of Troy, and Kenneth Schulte and his daughter Samantha, of Paris; and one daughter, Cindy Creech and her husband, Clay, and their children, Emily and Hunter, of Keytesville. He also leaves four brothers and their wives: Allen and Brenda Schulte, of Old Monroe, James and Carole Schulte, of Winfield, Herbert and Lou Schulte of Old Monroe and Eugene and Carol Schulte also of Old Monroe; one sister, Mary Lou Schulte of Old Monroe; two sisters-in-law: Elaine Schulte, of Winfield, and Elsie Schulte, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Autism Foundation in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.

Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Wegener of Troy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Nov. 6, 2009, at the age of 81.
Betty is survived by Arlie H. Wegener of Troy, her husband of 62 years; her children: Barbara DuNard, of Hawk Point, Glenn Wegener and wife, Becky, of Troy, and Wanda Galloway and husband, Dan of Hannibal. Also survived by her grandchildren: Sean DuNard, Rachel McCall and husband, Chris, Nikki Watts and husband, Ross, Jonathan Wegener and wife, Morgan, Rob Galloway and wife, Meryle, and 10 great grandchildren. She was a sister to Kenneth LaRue and wife, Faye, of Troy and is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Those who knew Betty will remember her for her active role in farming. She was also involved in her community and civic activities, including 4-H and PTA. Betty had been an area supervisor of World Book Encyclopedia. She was an active member of the Christian Community Center.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov.9, 2009, at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, Troy. Interment followed in the Troy City Cemetery, Troy.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, 1304 Boone St., Troy. Memorials may be made to the Christian Community Center or Bread for Life Food Pantry, c/o the funeral home.

Funeral services for Paul Henry Freese, 87, of St. Charles, formerly of Winfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Rev. Michael Kasevich will officiate with burial in St. Paul UCC cemetery.
Mr. Freese passed away Monday evening, November 2, 2009 at Villages of St. Peters in St. Peters
Born August 3, 1922, in Old Monroe, he was the son of John Henry and Anna Hoffman Freese. He was united in marriage on April 22, 1950 in St. Charles to Esther Marie Hackmann. This union was blessed with three children: Gloria, Crystal and Carlton.
He worked for many years as a truck mechanic for International Harvester, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Machinist UAW union. Mr. Freese was very active with Winco and delivered meals on wheels for over 20 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and served several terms on the church council.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Esther Freese of St. Charles; one son Ca, rlton Freese and his wife, Paulette, of Alexandria, VA; two daughters: Gloria Freese of Kansas City and Crystal Freese and her husband, Kenton Selsvold, of St. Charles; and three grandchildren: Victoria Nicole Freese of Indianapolis, IN, Brianna Nicole Selsvold of St. Charles, and Paul Culley Freese of Louisville, KY. He also leaves one sister-in-law, Mary Freese of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Winco in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.

Paul Edwards, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Troy, died Oct. 19, 2009, from cancer complications.
Paul was born June 21, 1939, to Claude Edward and Frances Adams. Paul married in 1958 to Bessie Zumwalt. To that marriage were born three sons: Michael Edward, James Douglas and Phillip Leslie, and three grandchildren, Johnathan Edward, Rachael and Sandy Adams.
In June 1995, he married Shirley Molatch of New York. Together they continued to raise her daughter, Leah, and for the last two years, he was blessed to be a grandpa to Leah's daughter, Mackenzie Goodman.
Paul graduated from Buchanan High School in Troy in 1957. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany from 1963 to 1965. He worked in the concrete business for many years before retiring to Florida.
Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; her daughter, Leah and husband, William, and granddaughter, Mackenzie of New Port Richey, Fla.; his sons and grandsons; two sisters, Carlotta Fay Yordt, of Montgomery City, and Glenda Ruth and husband, Jerry Presley, of Troy; and sister-in-law, Jeannie Adams, of South Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Sulpher Lick Cemetery and conducted by the Rev. Greg Williams, of Middletown, on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at 2 p.m.

Sammy Pray Mudd age 91, of Silex, passed away Tuesday November 3, 2009, at the Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex with Edward Spies officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. Visitation was held from 4- 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the funeral home.
She was born November 8, 1917 in Eolia, the daughter of David Cowell and Margaret Belle Warner Oliver. She married John Willis Mudd on September 2, 1944 in Millwood. Survivors include two daughters Marie Wanzalee Mudd, of Elsberry, Mary Agnes (Noot) Logan, of Silex; two granddaughters; Chris Tomschin and husband, Steve, and Leslie Ann Bufford; two great granddaughters; Anne Marie Bufford and Erin R. Tomschin; Cousins Ruth Duff, of Eolia and John Henry Warner of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mudd lived in the Millwood area most of her life. She attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She had been an elementary school teacher for 43 years, including teaching at Clopton School for 21 years.

Jeane V. Rogers, of O'Fallon, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the age of 78.
She was the wife of the late Warren D. Rogers; dear daughter of the late Noah and Minnie Damron; devoted mother of Bob W. Rogers and N. Eugene Rogers and wife, Susan; cherished grandmother of six and great-grandmother of five; dear sister of Bud Damron; and sister-in-law of Esthol Emerick.
Rogers was as a Department Manager at Wal-Mart and Hedges & Hafer Grocery for many years. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and enjoyed making candy.
The family is being served by The Baue Funeral Home, located at 311 Wood St. in O'Fallon, where visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov.4, 2009, at Baue Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or Cornerstone United Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Steven Wayne Hardwick, 51, of Elsberry, were held at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry with Larry "Tinker" Vaughn of Elsberry officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Dains, Jeffery Vishino, Tyrone Henderson, Kevin Davis, Billy Joe Hunter, Steve Qualacek and Steven Dains.
Hardwick passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at St. Joseph Health Center in Sr. Charles.
Born April 27, 1958 in Indianapolis, Ind., he was the son of Kenneth Arnold and Hattie Katherine Rollins Hardwick.
He worked in construction as a laborer for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Hattie Hardwick; and two sisters, Nancy Cafazzo and Nikki Jackson.
Survivors include one son, Steven Hardwick and his fianc‚e, Jessica Hardwick and their children Jordon, Nickolas and Stevajah Hardwick, of Elsberry; and two step-daughters: Juanita Davis and her children Jeffrey and Jonathan Vishino and Dillon Roberts, of St. Louis, and Crystal Borden and her son Domanick Davis of St. Louis. He also leaves three brothers: David Hardwick and his wife, Clayetta, of Kennett, Dante Hardwick of Boston, Mass., and Jeff Hardwick, of Elsberry; three sisters: Patti Dains and her husband, Dennis, of Elsberry, Donna Disney and her husband, Carey, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Janice Chandler, of Elsberry; his companion, Wynette Harper; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Memorials may be made to the family of Steven Hardwick in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
