Mr. William O. "Bill" Whitaker, 36, of Troy, formerly of Salem, passed away on Sunday, October. 4, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake St. Louis.
He was born on June 27, 1973, the youngest child born to Harold and Lilly (Musick) Whitaker. Bill grew up in Troy and graduated from Wright City High School. He later moved to Salem. Bill met the love of his life, Carolyn Long, at a family member's wedding. They were married on June 21, 1997 in Sturgeon. Bill and Carolyn were blessed with three sons: Zachary, Logan and Jacob. He was a barber and graduated from the Missouri College of Barbering in St. Louis. Bill had worked in Rolla, Wentzville and Troy.
Surviving are: his beloved wife: Carolyn Whitaker; his three sons, Zachary, Logan and Jacob; his mother, Lilly Whitaker, of Salem; his siblings, Keith Whitaker and wife, Joyce of Louisiana, Phillip Whitaker and wife, JoAnn, of the state of Georgia, Charles Wilcox and wife, Linda, of Rolla, Betty Reynolds and husband, Vernon, of Wentzville, Lee Wilcox and wife, Paulina, of Wentzville, Don Whitaker of Salem, Sue Howell and husband, Bob, of Gerald and Pat Whitaker of New York; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, October. 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. from McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St., Troy. Officiating was Rev. Bob Flanagan. Interment followed in the Troy City Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home, Troy.
Memorials may be made to the Whitaker Children's Fund, c/o McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home, Troy.

Floyd B. Dowell, Jr., 64, of Troy, passed away quietly at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2009, after suffering from pancreatic cancer. _
The son of Floyd and Avonell(Brown)Dowell, Sr., he was born December 8, 1944, in St. Charles. _Floyd married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Ann Cappel on February 4, 1967, in Columbia who survives. _
Also surviving him are; two sons, Chris Dowell, of Troy and Ross Dowell and wife, Shelly, of Troy; four grandchildren, Kortney Dowell, Shane Dowell, Ross Dowell II and Ashley Korte; one brother, Gary Wayne Dowell and wife, Joyce of Farmington; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Jim Panhorst of Troy; and nieces and nephews. _
Floyd grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1962. He was a 1967 graduate of University of Missouri with a B.S. degree in accounting. In 1980, he became the accountant at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital (now Lincoln County Medical Center) and in 1990 became administrator. His title was later changed to Chief Executive Officer. He was a member of Troy Kiwanis, Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and was the Britton House 2007 Roastee. He was also a member of Missouri Hospital Association serving on the Central District Council, the By-Laws Committee, was a former president of the Workers Compensation Board and the District Council President for the Northeast area. He was a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Ingersoll Chapel for Funeral & Cremation Services, Troy. Visitation was held from 3 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 8. Donations made in memory of Floyd have been suggested to Friends of LCMC or the Lincoln County Medical Center Auxiliary.

Martha Josephine Kaver Wimmer, 84, of Montgomery City, died on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1924, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Joseph and Helen Beschine Kaver. She was married to Charles Herman Wimmer on June 12, 1940, in Callaway County. They lived many years in Bellflower, before moving to Montgomery City. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2006.
Mrs. Wimmer was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City.
She is survived by six children: Charles J. Wimmer and wife, Joyce, of Troy, Mary Jo Frye, of Montgomery City, Margaret Bryan and husband, Donald, of Holt's Summit, Delbert Wimmer and Rita Fakes, of New Florence, Valerie Schlote and husband, Bernard, of Silex and Ann Smith, of Montgomery City. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, May Deatherage and husband, Marvin, of Jefferson City and Mildred Bledsoe, of Ft. Morgan, Colo.; one brother, J.D. Kaver and wife, Sandy, of Jefferson City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City. The Rev. Frank Bussmann will officiate. Interment will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, north of Montgomery City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. A prayer service will be held that evening at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to: Loving Care Hospice or the Montgomery County Senior Center, in care of Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.

Laura (Laws) Halliburton, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Troy, died on Aug. 30 after a battle with cancer.
Mrs. Halliburton, 47, was born on Jan. 6, 1962, to Justin and Paula (Fitzsimmons) Laws. She grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School.
She is survived her husband, Brian Halliburton, of Springfield; her daughter, Kristen; her son, Michael; her mother, Paula Blackwell, and husband, Cletus, of Eolia; her brothers, Richard Laws and wife, Kerri, and Dewayne Blackwell and wife, Carey; her sisters, Sherry Jennings and husband, Rick, Charlotte Nardi and husband, Sam, and Melissa Hurd and husband, Jay; and her grandmother, Kathleen Fitzsimmons.
She was buried in Butler, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Halliburton Children's Education Fund, c/o Central Assembly of God Church, 1301 N. Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO, 65802.

Funeral services for Alfreda June Muldrow, 85, of St. Charles, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Chris Polski, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry.
Mrs. Muldrow, 85, passed away Monday morning, September 7, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
Born on June 23, 1924 in Ada, OK, she was the daughter of Paul W. and Thelma Sullivan Holley. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Central University in Ada, OK; and her Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater, OK. She was united in marriage on May 9, 1964 in St. Louis to Howard Kent Muldrow. This union was blessed with one son, Kyle.
She was a longtime member of the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 45 years, Howard Muldrow of St. Charles; and their son, Kyle Muldrow and his wife, Elvia, of Laguna Hills, CA. She also leaves one brother, Dr. Paul Sullivan Holley and his wife, Judy, of Denver, Colo.; one niece, Holley Izard and her husband, Gale, of Greenville, TX, several other relatives, her church family and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11:a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Home in Ironton, MO in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.

Funeral services for Christina Felty Raney Rice, 52, of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Mrs. Rice, 52, died early Thursday morning, August 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
Born July 31, 1957, in Evansville, IN, she was the daughter of Herbert Anthony and Judith Ann Robbins Felty. She was united in marriage on December 18 1993 in Elsberry to Dennis Rice. She worked for 24 years for the Lincoln County Nursing Service.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 15 years, Dennis Rice, of Elsberry; two sons, David Rice and his wife, Kristy, of Winfield, and Brian Raney and his companion, Kyley, of Elsberry; three daughters, Samantha Mackey and her husband, Adam, of Troy, Lindsey Raney, of Troy and Kimber Howard and her husband, Ross, of Herington, Kan. and six grandchildren. She also leaves her mother, Judy Felty, of Elsberry; one sister, Denise Lynn Wahl of Feldon, IL; several other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
Memorials may be made to the family of Chris Rice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.

Donna Yates was born June 16, 1949 in Baltimore, MD. She passed away on Aug. 2, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.
She was employed as a childcare provider.
Survivors include four daughters, Angela Pool, Charity Pool, Robin Shank and Stephanie Yates; one sister, Bonne Ziegler; two brothers, Bobby Frazier and Casey Frazier; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was cremated on Aug. 5, 2009 and a memorial service will be held at the Bible Baptist Church in St. Charles on Aug. 8, 2009 at 1 p.m.
The family asks that any donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Michael David Estes, 71, of Troy, formerly of Ladue, died on July 29, 2009. He was the son of the late Joseph and Ethel Estes; dear father of Ted Estes and wife, Angela, of Orlando, Florida, and Elizabeth Estes Niven and husband, Ben, of Troy; dear brother of Jeffrey Estes and wife, Roberta; dear grandfather of Will, Caroline, Bishop and Griffin Estes and Morgan Niven; our beloved uncle, cousin and friend.
Mr. Estes was a cowboy, a pilot and a businessman. He and the late Ernie Hood owned four stores together, Hoods South Grand, Hoods Rock Road, The Shed in Alton and Hoods in Cape Girardeau. After leaving the retail business, Mr. Estes enjoyed playing Indian ball and soccer and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral service for Marvin P. Hasselfeld, 87, of Katy, Texas, was held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2009, at the Pitman Funeral Home at Wentzville. Interment followed in the Troy City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the funeral home.
Mr. Hasselfeld died August 1, 2009, in Katy, Texas.
Born Jan. 27, 1922, in Troy, he was the son of the late William and Eva Dunard Hasselfeld. Survivors include one daughter, Joan Biondo and husband, Ronald, of Katy; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Heart Association may be made in care of Pitman Funeral Homer, 909 Pitman Ave., P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.
