WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Jess Nelson Pettigrew, age 79, of Holden, MO died Sunday, Oct. 1st at home. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7th at the Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home in Holden.

Roger Wade Davidson
(November 8, 1933 - June 25, 2011)

Roger Wade Davidson, 77, of Hartsburg, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 8, 1933, in Boone County, Missouri, a son of the late Claude E. and Betty J. (Northway) Davidson. He was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson City High School, which was the graduating class that wrote the school alma mater. On November 8, 1953, Roger was united in marriage to Patsy R. Higgins, who survives at their home.
Roger started working for Woodman Engineering in 1972, where he held positions as Service Manager, General Manager, and was currently the Vice-President. He retired in 2010 due to his illness. He learned about the heating and cooling business while working along side his father. Roger served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hartsburg, where he had also served as Sunday School Director and Church Treasurer for many years. He loved and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also enjoyed camping and the Davidson family 4th of July celebration. He loved having all of his family together to share stories and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was so proud of his family, which includes his 17 nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He dearly loved his church family.
Along with his wife Patsy, Roger is also survived by three children: Christy Martin (husband Pat) of Holts Summit; Kevin Davidson (wife Sheila) of Hartsburg; Laura Ruediger (husband Doug) of Jefferson City; six grandchildren: Ryan Martin (wife Erin), Johanna McKim (husband Pat), Amanda Lueckenhoff (husband Adam), Bryant Davidson (wife Danielle), Dylan Ruediger and Kaitlyn Davidson; two great-grandchildren: Kane Lueckenhoff and Emery McKim; three brothers: Gary Davidson, Monte Davidson (wife Sheri), and Warren Davidson (wife Barbara) all of Lake Ozark; and one sister: Joan Hood (husband Bob) of Paola, Kansas.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hartsburg, with Bro. Dale Larison and Bro. Lyn Heying officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Highway 63 North; Hartsburg, MO 65039 or SSM Hospice, 1241 West Stadium Blvd.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. Clarence August Bleckman
(August 19, 1921 - July 8, 2011)

Clarence August Bleckman, 89, of Leslie, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri. He was born August 19, 1921, on the family farm near Leslie, Missouri. He was joined in marriage to Marjorie Vaughn on January 19, 1947, in Linn, Missouri. To this union eight children were born.
Clarence attended grade school at Little Creek in Leslie. He graduated from Union High School in 1939. He retired from McDonnell Douglas with 27 years of service, where he was an electrician on fighter jets. He was a lifetime farmer. Clarence and his family farmed their 500 acre farm, which will have been in the Bleckman family for 150 years in 2012. Over the years they did dairy farming, cattle farming, crops and harvested hay. Before being married he enjoyed playing the trumpet in a small band. He enjoyed working along side of his family on the farm. He especially liked spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clarence was a member of Antioch Christian Church, where he had served as Elder and Treasurer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marjorie Bleckman; eight children: Bill Bleckman and wife Deborah of Rolla, MO, Rebecca Hoch and husband Fred of Leslie, MO, Beverly Bleckman of Murrieta, CA, Carl Bleckman and wife Cyndi of Leslie, MO, JoAnn Buddenhagen of Deming, New Mexico, Dale Bleckman and wife Kimberly of Rolla, MO, Steve Bleckman of Leslie, MO, and Phillip Bleckman and wife Karen of Leslie; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Wilbert Bleckman, one son-in-law, Ray Buddenhagen and two grandchildren: Travis Buescher and Nick Bleckman.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at the Antioch Christian Church in Leslie, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the Antioch Christian Church in Leslie, Missouri, with Rev. Dave Atzenweiler officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to anyone running against Barack Obama in 2012 or the Antioch Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of MEYER-HILKE-MILLARD Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street; Gerald, Missouri 63037.

James Otis Harrison
(July 6, 1941 - July 8, 2011)

James Otis Harrison, 70, of Columbia, Missouri, died July 8, 2011 at University of Missouri Hospital. Mr. Harrison was born on July 6, 1941, in Fulton, Missouri, to Otis Harrison and Melba (Craighead) Harrison.
Jim was a retired postal carrier with the United States Postal Service. He was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Elijah Gates Camp No. 570. He was a member of the Hallsville Baptist Church.
Mr. Harrison will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother: Melba Harrison; one son: James Todd Harrison; three daughters: Gigi Harrison; Nicole Harrison; Gabrielle Harrison; one granddaughter: Cassie Nichols. He was preceded in death by his father: Otis Harrison
Friends will be received from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Millard Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of MILLARD FAMILY Funeral Home, 12 East Ash Street.

Leroy Henry Raithel
(December 19, 1937 - July 6, 2011)

Leroy Henry Raithel, 73, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at St. Mary’s Health Center. He was born December 19, 1937, in Schubert, Missouri, son of the late Henry E. and Gertrude A. (Kemmer) Raithel. He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. On June 30, 1972, Leroy was united in marriage to Katherine E. (Arthur) Sims, who survives at their home.
Leroy was a Cartographer for the Missouri Department of Transportation, where he retired after thirty-seven years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Schubert. Leroy enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his younger years, and also enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.
Along with his wife Kathy, Leroy is also survived by three daughters: Holly Boston (husband Frank) of Foristell, MO; Heather Hall (husband Brent) of Jefferson City, MO; Vicki Sawyer of Excelsior Springs, MO; two sons: Richard “Rick” L. Raithel of Lohman, MO; Mark Raithel (wife Karen) of Centertown, MO; one sister: Bonnie Gaskill (husband Nathan) of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren: Sadie Boston, Cole Boston, Quintin Hall, Justin Sawyer, Kara Barber, Randi Kampeter, Aric Raithel, Marah Raithel, Gage Raithel and Eli Raithel; six great-grandchildren; two brother-in-laws: Roy Stanley Arthur of Jefferson City and David Arthur (Kathleen) of Fulton; one sister-in-law: Lori Backes (Anthony) of Jefferson City; nieces; nephews and cousins. He also has one grandchild on the way. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant son: Jason Leroy Raithel.
Friends will be received from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Gerald Scheperle officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Jesse F. Flassing, Jr.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Jesse F. Flassing, Jr., age 90, died on Saturday, December 9, 2006, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Jesse was born on May 11, 1916, in Johnson County, Missouri, the son of Jesse F. Flassing Sr. and Wendla C. Flassing, nee Spolander.
On January 14, 1939, Jesse married Helen Schmutz, his wife of 67 years.
Jesse graduated from Graduate Training High School in 1933, becoming owner and operator of the family farm, originally purchased in 1866.
Jesse served with the State of Missouri Department of Conservation as agent and District Supervisor for 34 yeas, before retiring and returning to the family farm in 1981.
Jesse was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church of Leeton.
Jesse was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa, and brother Philip. Jesse is survived by his wife, Helen, a son Donald and a daughter, Margery Black. He is also survived by four grandsons, two great granddaughter and one great grandson. Also surviving is a niece, Jean Maki.
Funeral services will be held at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
A family visitation is also scheduled the evening of December 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Liberty, Missouri.
Burial will be at the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Baptist Home, 500 Baptist Home, Lane, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601 or the Harmony Baptist Church Youth Program and may be left in care of the funeral home.
The family appreciates the many kindnesses shown to us by the Hedrick Hospice group and the Baptist Home Staff.

Molly Elizabeth (Humphreys) Crocker
(April 12, 1971 - July 2, 2011)

Molly Elizabeth (Humphreys) Crocker, 40, of Jefferson City, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, July 2, 2011.
Molly was the beloved mother of Cory (22), Bastian (20), and Landon (10) and loving companion of Jim Sone. She will be forever missed by all who loved her.
Molly was born April 12, 1971, in Trenton, Missouri, but had called Jefferson City her home since 1986. Molly was employed at Riley Chevrolet and was previously employed at Reagan Hyundai and the State of Missouri - Department of Revenue.
She and Jim were best friends for the last five years and enjoyed playing golf and visiting with friends and family. Molly had a talented natural eye for interior and landscape design. She would successfully move her treasured plants from home to home, always increasing the plantings and sharing them with family and friends. Her home is warmly decorated with beloved antiques inside and beautiful planting outside. Her favorite pastimes were attending Cardinal games, camping, floating, spending time in the outdoors, and joining family vacations in Grand Marais, Minnesota. She found great joy and delight in her three sons and their activities, achievements, and best of all, their home time. Her spark and wit enlivened all gathering and endeared her to everyone.
Molly is survived by her three devoted sons: Cory Lee Crocker, Bastian Lee Crocker, and Landon Ray Maasen; as well as her parents: Max Humphreys and Georgia Ann Humphreys; her long-time companion: Jim Sone; her siblings: Stephen Joseph Humphreys, Jordan M. Humphreys along with his wife Jennifer Humphreys, their children: Zachary Samuel Humphreys and Amber Jewell-Adele Humphreys; and her sister Susie A. Humphreys along with her partner Mary Woods. Her extended family includes her Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Sam Masters; cousins: Chad Masters (Joan) and Stacy McCrary (Michael) and their children of Columbia, and her Uncle Richard Lowrey and companion Anne Neff of Houston, along with cousins Jackie Lowrey of Columbia and Jennifer Rash and family of St. Louis. She was a caring granddaughter of her grandmother Dorothy Lowrey who recently passed away.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, gifts or food, donations can be made to a college fund for her sons in memory of their mother. Donations for the college fund can be directed to Lynnette Busch or Eileen Richter at Central Motor Bank in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Her family and Jim will host a casual memorial gathering of family and friends to celebrate Molly’s life on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the country home of her parents Max and Georgia in Ashland, Missouri, from 5 pm to 8 pm. All friends and family of Molly are invited. (DIRECTIONS) Take Highway 63 to Ashland, Missouri, and Exit at MO-M/MO-Y. Go West on MO-M/East Broadway for 2.4 Miles and Turn Right onto MO-MM/E MO-MM and go 0.5 miles. Turn Left on East Basnet Drive for 0.1 miles and Left on East Griffin Drive. Marvin J. Keown
(April 21, 1919 - July 2, 2011)

Marvin J. Keown, age 92, of Jefferson City passed away peacefully Saturday, July 2, 2011, at his home on Bolton Drive. He was born April 20, 1919, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri, son of Bartholomew Walter Keown and Rose Anna (nee Nacy) Keown. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and worked for Modern Litho Print Company of Jefferson City for 45 years, doing work in nearly every aspect of the printing trade.
Marvin served in the United States Army during World War II with the rank of Tech Sergeant in the Army Headquarters, Headquarters Company, and served on bases from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
On June 26, 1945, Marvin was united in marriage in Jefferson City to Ruth Doty Keown of Mountain Grove, Missouri, who preceded him in death on September 10, 1975. The young couple settled in Jefferson City after the war. After the death of his first wife he married Ruth (nee Yancy) Miller of Fulton on July 19, 1986.
Marvin was a member of the Optimist Club, American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus, C.O.B. as a boy, and was involved in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts while his children were young. He was a parishioner at the Cathedral of St. Joseph where he served as an usher at 9:30 Sunday Mass for many years. He loved to dance and was known far and wide to be the best dancer in Jefferson City. In addition he was an avid rose gardener and well known woodworker, and loved to listen to his music.
Besides his wife, Ruth Doty Keown on September 10, 1975, Marvin was preceded in death by three sisters, Marian Frickie on January 20, 1996, Rose Ann Winkelmann on April 20, 2008, Dorothy B. Hager on May 29, 2011, and two brothers, Taylor Keown on May 20, 1933, and James T. (Bus) Keown on May 19, 2011. He is the last of the Keown Family that lived in the family home at 725 West High Street since 1907.
He is survived by two children: Jewel Ann (Annie) Ritter and husband Bruce of St. Louis, Missouri and James M. (Jim) Keown and wife Chris of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren: James C. (Jimmy) Keown of Las Vegas, Nevada, Benjamin J. Keown and Nathanial T. Keown of Columbia, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his second wife Ruth (nee Yancy) Keown, all of whom will greatly miss his positive attitude, love for having a great time, fun nature, and philosophy of never meeting a person he didn’t like.
Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Father Nicholas Reid officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Holding fast to his Scotch-Irish heritage he will be honored with a bag piper playing the traditional Irish Tunes he loved so well. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Helias Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street; Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.
