Bobbie Jean Morris
Bobbie Jean Morris, daughter of the late Virgil and Lula Jane (Applegate) Stiles, was born July 21, 1936 in Tobinsport, Indiana. She graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville, Indiana. Bobbie continued her education and graduated from College with a Business Degree.
In 1984, Bobbie moved to the Pulaski County area and married George Creighton Morris. They were united in marriage on December 28, 1985 in Devils Elbow, Missouri. They shared over 28 years of marriage together.
Bobbie was a hardworking woman and dedicated her life to helping many people. She is currently the Executive Director of the Pulaski County Group Home in Crocker, Missouri and has been for 25 years. She loved helping those that were challenged and considered all the residents as her family. She gave them a home where they were safe and knew they were loved. She was a kind and compassionate person helping everyone she could. She didn’t know a stranger.
Bobbie cherished her children and they were the most important thing in her life. She has passed her kind and giving traits on to her daughters who will continue her legacy. Her daughters adore her and spent every moment they could with her.
In her spare time, Bobbie loved going on cruises with her daughters. She enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time with family and friends and was a history buff. She was an avid supporter of the Special Olympics. Many will remember her for her kind giving heart. She touched everyone she met. She also had an incredible sense of humor and always left everyone with a smile on their face. Bobbie was a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary since 1989.
Bobbie passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 in her home having attained the age of 75 years. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, George, of the home; four children: Susan Denning (Terry) of Devil’s Elbow, MO, Cristi Denning of Evansville, IL, Sheryl Schaefer (Kevin) of St. Meinrad, IN and Lauralee Baldwin (Joe) of Lexington, KY; eleven grandchildren: James Patrick Denning, Michael Steven Denning, Crystal Ruiz, Ricky Denning, Joseph Baldwin, Sean Schaefer, Sierra Sky Baldwin, Blake Schaefer, Timmy Denning, Ricky Call and LuAnn Morris; two great-grandchildren: Christopher and Alexandria Denning; her brother, Bud Gude of Atlanta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her sons: Michael and Ricky Denning and five siblings: Margie, Kenny, Vicky, Shirley and Lambert.
Visitation will be held from 4 until time of service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
Memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 Friday, June 15, 2012 in Tell City, Indiana and a graveside service on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in the Birdseye Cemetery of Birdseye, Indiana.
Donald Alford, Sr.
SFC (Ret) Donald Alford, Sr., son of James Alford, Sr. and Elizabeth (Allen) Alford, was born June 17, 1955 in Loris, South Carolina. Donald grew up in Tabor City, North Carolina and graduated from Tabor City High School.
On April 6, 1978, Donald was united in marriage to Insuk Hong in Hinesville, Georgia. They shared over 34 years of marriage together and three children: Sherry, Donald Jr., and Gloria.
Donald entered the United States Army in Raleigh, North Carolina and served his country faithfully until his retirement at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. For his faithful service, Donald earned several awards and commendations; some of which include: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal – 2nd Award, Army Good Conduct Medal – 7th Award, Non-commissioned Officer Professional development Ribbon – 3rd Award, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon – 3rd Award, Air Assault Badge, Marksman Qualification Badge Rifle M16, Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin) and Meritorious Service Medal. He had attained the rank of Sergeant First Class.
After retiring from the military, Donald began working for Marathon Electric. He then became employed on Fort Leonard Wood – first as a security guard and then as a Range Control Technician.
In his spare time, Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, which was very important to him. He loved people and was always there to give a helping hand. He was an encourager to others and no matter the situation, he was always smiling. Donald also enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan.
At an early age, Donald made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and after moving to the Fort Leonard Wood area became a member of the Victory Fellowship Church of God. He was very active in the church where he served as deacon and sang in the church choir.
Donald went home to be with his Lord at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him.

Fae Jo Ann Wyatt
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Fae Jo Ann Wyatt, Warrensburg, formerly of Lee's Summit, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Holden Cemetery.
Hilda Marie Butcher
Hilda Marie Butcher, daughter of the late Harold Joseph and Myrtle Ethel (Kirkland) Yahnert, was born January 7, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended school in Welesfield, Ohio.
On January 28, 1944, Hilda was united in marriage to Benjamin Maxwell Butcher in Louisville, Kentucky. They shared over 59 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. They were blessed with three children: James, Pauline and Marie. Ben preceded her in death in April 2003.
Due to Ben being in the military, Hilda and the family moved to several different places. All of the children were born in Ohio and the family eventually found themselves at Fort Leonard Wood in August 1960. After Ben retired, they decided to stay in the Waynesville area.
Hilda was a hardworking woman and took great pride in helping to provide for her family. She worked at the Fort Leonard Wood Post Laundry before going to Dixon Brown Shoe LB Manufacturing where she worked for 13 years. After leaving the shoe company, she began working for Fasco in Eldon and Tipton from 1973 until 1988 when she retired.
In her spare time, Hilda enjoyed country shows and listening to country music. She also was able to go to her grandchildren’s baseball and basketball games especially after she retired. Hilda and Ben also enjoyed watching wrestling together and in fact she had two cats that she named Hulk Hogan and Sting. Hilda was a member of the Crocker Christian Church and also the Francis J. Lynch VFW Post 3168 Ladies Auxiliary.
Hilda passed away at 6:40 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2012 in the UHHS Richmond Heights Hospital of Richmond Heights, Ohio having attained the age of 86 years, 5 months and 9 days. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Hilda leaves to cherish her memory her three children: James Butcher (Janet) of Cleveland, Ohio; Pauline Ziegenbein (James) of St. Roberts, Mo. and Marie Stephens (Ernest) of Booneville, MO; one sister Thelma Harmotto of Windham, Oh; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hilda was preceded in death by two sisters: Marian Parker and Ida Urbanowiz and one brother: Richard Yahnert.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Richard Sapp officiating. The songs “Three Wooden Crosses”, “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again” and “I’ll Fly Away” were played. Serving as escorts were family and friends.
Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
Gerald W. Chaffin
Gerald W. Chaffin, son of the late Charlie and Daisy Alice (Bush) Chaffin was born on July 13th, 1934 and departed this life on June 20th, 2012 at the age of 77 years 11 months and 22 days. Gerald was born in Kingston Ohio where he lived until he joined the service in 1956. While stationed in Germany he met and married Marianne Elisabeth Hacker on October 5, 1957 and shared 52 years together. Upon this marriage was born three daughters, Alice Ellen, Barbara Sue and Robin Lynne.
Gerald retired from the army in 1981 and lived on Hwy 28 for the rest of his life. He was a kind and generous man, always willing to help one in need. He became the fix-it man for the neighbors and never expected a thing in return. Having grown up on a farm he had a passion for John Deere tractors. He loved his old "JD" mower and kept it running well beyond it's expectancy.
Gerald fell ill with kidney cancer in early 2007. A malignant brain tumor sent him to the hospital where after surgery and two months in the hospital came home to resume his life. Knowing he had limitations he refused to give up and continued to work on things he knew he could fix and even used the weed trimmer. It was a struggle to keep him off of his old John Deere mower but he still kept it running and enjoyed seeing any of his girls ride it. He put up a good battle fighting the cancer and was deemed as his oncologist's "poster child" for how long he defeated kidney cancer.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne Elisabeth, brothers Frank of Indiana, Carl, Sam and Jim of the state of Ohio, step-mother Marguerite Taylor Chaffin of the state of Ohio, son-in-law Gary D. Becker of Crocker, MO.
Gerald is survived by three daughters, Alice Ellen (Bob) Bischoff of St. Robert, Barbara Sue (Gary) Becker, Robin Lynne (Darrel) Vaughan of Laquey, one grandson, Paul August Bischoff of St. Robert and two step-grandsons, Jacob Darrel of Waynesville and Christopher Adam Vaughan of Camdenton; eight sisters: Anna Kempton, Pat Davis, Loretta Davis (Kenneth), Shirley Hunter (Guy), Wanda Erwin, Jeanette Coulter (Harley) and Sandy Kuhn (Garry) all of the state of Ohio and Madge Summit from the state of Indiana; three brothers: Russell Chaffin, Bill Chaffin (Trina) and Larry Chaffin (Linda) all of the state of Ohio; close friend: Curt Graves of the state of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
James (Jim) Calvin Kirby
Jim Kirby, 40, of Columbia, MO formerly of Camdenton, MO passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 in Auxvasse, MO. A memorial gathering will be from 4-6PM, Wednesday, June 20th at Nilson Funeral Home 5611 St. Charles Rd Columbia, MO. Memorial services will be 2PM June 23rd at Hill Top Church in Crocker, MO.
Jim was born July 14, 1971 to Harry and Etta Kirby Hyatt in Rockford, IL. Until November 2011 he was employed with Diamond Pet Food Manufacturing in Meta, MO. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting for Indian artifacts.
He was preceded in death by a brother; David Conrady, his grandparents; James and Gertie Kirby, and Lewis and Marie Hyatt. He is survived by his parents, a son; Zereck Kirby, daughter; Brittany Kirby, brother; Douglas Smith and wife Gina of Camdenton, MO, sister; Diane Lynn Mazurek and husband John of Crocker, MO, three grandsons; Ryan, Aiden and Brandon, Jr., nephews Johnny, Michael, and Brian Mazurek, and Tristan Smith, nieces; Trinah Mazurek and Tiffany Smith.
James "Marvin" Thompson
James "Marvin" Thompson of Rolla passed away June 13, 2012 at the age 72 years.
James loved the outdoors, fishing, singing and playing music, Guitar and Banjo.
James Marvin Thompson served in The U.S. Navy for 22 years.
James was born August 26, 1939 in Arlington, MO the son of James H. and Amy Thompson.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Bonnie Thompson. James is survived by his three children a son James L. Thompson of Newburg, two daughters Margaret Cardin and husband John of Rolla, Teresa Norton and husband Bruce of Oak Grove, MO; 9 grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Orville Thompson of Columbia, MO, 2 sisters Betty Grayson of Rolla, MO and Barbara Austin and husband Keith of Arkansas.
There will be a one day service Saturday, June 16, 2012 with visiting from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. with funeral service following 1 p.m. at the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, MO.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Teague And Sons for expenses. Interment will be at the Goodall Cemetery in Newburg, Missouri. All arrangements were made under the direction of the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, Missouri.
Wilson Dean Doyle
Wilson Dean Doyle, of Dixon, was born January 31, 1929, near Dixon, a son of John and Nettie F. (Null) Doyle and departed this life at 1:05 a.m., Friday, June 08, 2012, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mr. Doyle had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 83 years, 4 months and 7 days.
Mr. Doyle was united in marriage on October 8, 1949, at Dixon, to the former Miss Mabel E. Ramsey, and to this union, three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, on February 9, 1994; his father, on March 26, 1980; his mother, on June 14, 1976; two brothers, Lloyd Doyle, on February 2, 1915 and Bobby Doyle on July 11, 1984; four sisters, Blanche Fuller, on April 11, 1994; Marjorie Jones, on August 17, 1962; Esther Schenk, on July 1, 2004; and Eva Doyle, on April 3, 2005; and one great granddaughter.
He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Saviour and followed his Lord in Baptism in the Gasconade River and was a member of the Needmore Mission Church, near Dixon. Mr. Doyle had been the owner and operator of several gas stations and enjoyed working on his farms, hunting and fishing.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Doyle include: Three sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Janet Doyle, Dixon; Bill and Debbie Doyle, Iberia; and Tommy and Angie Doyle, Dixon; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Willard Doyle and Junior and Betty Doyle, all of Dixon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Earl VanScoy, Dixon; and Lou and Leroy Jennings, Granite City, Illinois; five grandsons, Duane Doyle and John Doyle, both of Dixon; Andrew Doyle, Milan; Matthew Doyle, Iberia; and Tyler Doyle, of Florida; one granddaughter, Rebecca Medlin, Bois Darc; two step-grandsons, Anthony Gilliland, of Kansas and Nathan Gilliland, of Iowa; seven great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
Fond memories of Mr. Doyle will remain in the hearts of his dear family and all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Doyle at 1 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2012, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with the Rev. David Hokanson officiating. Two vocal selections “Wings of an Angel” and “Meet Me Over There” were played for the service.
Interment was in the Seaton Cemetery under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers for Mr. Doyle were Duane Doyle, John Doyle, Andrew Doyle, Matthew Doyle, Dustin Doyle and Dylan Doyle. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Medlin, Nathan Gilliland, Anthony Gilliland and Marvin Rose.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Seaton Cemetery with envelopes available at the Dixon office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
