Arralee Reep
Arralee Morrison Reep, daughter of the late Carter Morrison and Eula Mae Crosby Morrison, was born on Oct. 4, 1916 at Pansy, Ark., and died at her home in Dexter on Oct. 19, 2001, at the age of 85. Mrs. Reep was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, the former co-owner of a snack bar in downtown Dexter with her late husband, and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to Glynn Wesley Reep on Nov. 24, 1933 at Rowe, Ark. Mr. Reep preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Glynis Dionne Evans of Dexter; by three brothers, Graham Morrison of Redfield, Ark., Frank Morrison of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Joe Morrison of Mobile, Ala.; by one sister, Jean Williams of Mobile, Ala., by two grandsons, Michael Ray Evens and Glen Scott Evans; and by one great-granddaughter, Cassandra Evans. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Inez Crosby. Friends may call at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001. Graveside services will then be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Dexter Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Leist officiating.
Paul Travers
Paul D. Travers of DeLand, Fla. was born in Dexter and died Oct. 15, 2001 at the Florida Hospital DeLand at the age of 84. Mr. Travers was a manager with Caterpillar for 44 years and a member of the First Christian Church of DeLand. He moved to the DeLand area from Joliet, Ill. in 1982. He was married to Dorothy Pauline Travers for 64 years, she survives of the home. Survivors include one son, Robert S. Travers of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; by two daughters, Judith Hittle of Coal City, Ill. and Patricia Ray of Stone Mountain, Ga.; by one brother, Robert Travers; by two sisters, Dorothy Nichols and Ruth Pruitt, both of Dexter; by five grandchildren; and by six great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of DeLand, 1401 W. New York Ave., DeLand, Fla. 32720. Lankford Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Edison Donley
Edison Donley of Advance, was born Nov. 21, 1932 in Sturdivant, the son of the late Ernest and Ella Elmore Donley and died on Oct. 15, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 68. He was retired from the Wal-Mart Corp. and a resident of Advance. Survivors include one son, Tommy Donley of St. Louis; by three brothers, Eugene Donley of Advance, Vernon and Sam Donley, both of St. Louis; by two sisters, Ruth Garner and Lucille Donley, both of Advance. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 8 -11 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Oct. 18 at the Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Johns officiating. Interment will follow at the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of all arrangements.
James Dabbs
James Virgil Dabbs, Jr., the son of the late James Virgil Dabb, Sr. and Willie Calder Dabbs Horad, was born in Kennett on Oct. 9, 1968 and died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at the age of 33, as a result of an automobile accident. He was a 1991 graduate of Risco High School and a resident of Bernie. Survivors include three brothers, David Dabbs of Malden, Timothy Dabbs of Dexter and Michael Dabbs of Bernie; by four sisters, Dorothy Faith of Gideon, Joyce Smiley of Bernie, Sheila Lane, and Lisa Dabbs, both of Malden; and by his step-father, Roy Horad of Malden. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Christina Dabbs; and by four brothers, James Lonnie Dabbs, Billy Gene Dabbs, Billy Harold Dabbs and Anthony Wayne Dabbs. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Funeral services will be conducted at the Bradshaw Chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17 with Rev. Roger Fowler and Rev. Earl Dell officiating. Interment will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton with Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden in charge of all arrangements.
Unice Crenshaw
Unice Crenshaw, daughter of the late John and Addie Hopkins Crenshaw, was born at Bloomfield on Dec. 11, 1911 and died at I.H.F. Nursing Center in St. Louis on March 5, 2002, at the age of 90. Ms. Crenshaw was a former resident of Bloomfield, but had lived the past several years in St. Louis. She was of the Methodist Faith. Survivors include three sisters, Elsie Dine of Columbia, Mo., Edith Smith and Thelma Bartz, both of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis Crenshaw, Len Crenshaw and Eugene Crenshaw; by one sister, Elgia Mary Davis; by three half-brothers, Newt Matthews, Don Matthews, and Sam Matthews. Visitation was held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 6. Funeral services were conducted today, Thursday, March 7 at 11 a.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Dunavin officiating. Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
Doris Lacey
Doris L. Lacey was born Aug. 25, 1935 and died as the result of an automobile accident on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, near Imperial, Mo. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Elizabeth Ellis. She was raised in Essex and continued to reside there and in the Dexter area until moving to St. Louis in 1961. On Sept. 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Herbert Lacey in Piggott, Ark, he survives of the home in Imperial. Mrs. Lacey attended the New Hope United Methodist Church in Arnold. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mike and Rick Lacey of Imperial; by four grandchildren; and by one great-granddaughter. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Kutis Funeral Home of South County with Rev. Rick Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in the Shepard of the Hills Cemetery near Barnhart.
Margrite Darby
Magrite M. Darby, daughter of the late Perry Lee Moore and Edna Young Moore, was born on Dec. 29, 1929 in Bloomfield and died at her residence in Dexter on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001 at the age of 71. Mrs. Darby was a member of the New Bethal General Baptist Church in Dexter, a former employee of the International Hat Factory, and a resident of Dexter for many years. She was united in marriage to James L. Darby in Bloomfield on Jan. 31, 1947, he survives of the home in Dexter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Moore. She is also survived by one son, Rev. Jerry Darby of Malden; by one daughter, Paula McClure of Columbia; by three brothers, Roy Bob, Leoid, and M.C. Moore, all of Dexter; by one sister, Velma Pierce of Bloomfield; and by four grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17 in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Darby officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
Ray Gramlisch
Ray A. Gramlisch of Zalma, the son of the late John and Annie Sadler Gramlisch, was born Sept. 3, 1924 at Chaffee and died Oct. 13, 2001 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Ray was a bricklayer for over 61 years, attended the Assembly of God Church in Greenbriar, and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He fought in the Battle of Buldge and received four Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Lora Jones on Feb. 9, 1946 at St. Louis, she survives of the home in Zalma. He is also survived by one son, Danny Gramlisch of Advance; by four daughters, Lola Howard of Advance, Glenda Lesch and Carolyn Lesch, both of Delta, and Mary Lou Gramlisch of Zalma; by three brothers, John Gramlisch and Lester Gramlisch, both of Chaffee, and Bill Gramlisch of Delta; by four sisters, Dorothy Menz and Edna Crowden, both of Chaffee, Emma Hanlon of Delta, and Mary Ann Stoffregan of Advance; by seven grandchildren; and by six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; by one daughter; and one brother. Visitation was held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Monday, Oct. 15 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. with Rev. James Johns officiating and Bro. William Marshall assisting. Interment followed in the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home in Advance in charge of all arrangements.
