Cecil E. Beaird
Cecil Edward "Dude" Beaird of Kennett, was born Sept. 14, 1910 in Malden, the son of the late Cecil Edward and Margaret Creasey Beaird, and died on Sept. 16, 2001 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 91. He was united in marriage to Ester Ioma Bishop on Sept. 16, 1939 in Campbell, she survives of the home in Kennett. Besides his parents, Mr. Beaird was preceded in death by one daughter, Jearlene Bay; three brothers, John, Billy and Robert Beaird; and one sister, Mildred Beaird. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Peggy Gilooly of Dexter; five sons, Bud Beaird of Swartz Creek, Mich., Leo Beaird of Flint, Mich., Ed Beaird of Sikeston, Rick Beaird of Dexter, and Kenny Beaird of Kennett; two brothers, Earl Beaird of Malden and Lee Beaird of St. Louis; five sisters, Daisey Henderson of Honolulu, Hawaii, Dovie House of Malden, Betty Beaird of Springfield, Rosie Reel of Fla., and Gladys Edwards of Flat River; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren. Visitation was held at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. at the McDaniel Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Beaird officiating. Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of all arrangements.
Claudine Lorch
Claudine M. Lorch of Advance, the daughter of the late Oscar and Nelle Cawthon Tippett, was born June 4, 1920 in Advance and died Sunday, March 3, 2002 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 81. She was united in marriage to Leonard J. Lorch on May 14, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2001. Mrs. Lorch was a 1937 graduate of Advance High School and taught at Swan Pond and Hickory Ridge rural schools. She worked at the Bank of Advance for 35 years and retired as Sr. Vice President and was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance. Survivors include two sons, Dennis and David Lorch, both of Advance; three sisters, Mary Jo Murphy of Rhode Island, Wanda Jenkins of Advance and Nelline Myers of Winter Haven, Fla.; one half-sister, Inez Kokal of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Lorch and Wayne Lorch; one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Tuesday, March 5 from 4:30 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance with Father Frederick Lutz officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
Christine Pyles
Christine Pyles, was born on April 10, 1923 at Dyersburg, Tenn. and died Sept. 18, 2001 in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter, at the age of 78. Mrs. Pyles was a homemaker and attended the New Bethel Baptist Church in Dexter. She was united in marriage to Chester Floyd Pyles on May 12, 1942 in Portageville. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1990. Survivors include two sons, William Richard Pyles of Arbyrd, Mo. and David Pyles of Dexter; one sister Ann Lois Pyles of West Frankfort, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Princess Fay Pyles and Dorothy Imogene Pyles; one brother; one grandson; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery at Dexter. Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
Louis Ingram
Louis Ingram, of Advance, was born Dec. 12, 1921 at Lilbourn, the son of the late Lemuel and Mamie Barnett Ingram, and died Sept. 18, 2001 at the Advance Nursing Center, at the age of 79. He was a retired carpenter and a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army, three of his years in Europe. Louis was united in marriage to Elizabeth Burns on Nov. 28, 1958 at Gordonville, she survives of the home. Other survivors include one brother, Lucian Ingram of Madison Heights Mich.; and four sisters, Geneva Glass of Madison Heights, Mich., Bessie Cronk of Brudenville, Mich., Wanda Lampher and Janice Morgan of Advance. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Visitation was held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Virgil Bunch officiating and Roy Haynie assisting. Interment followed in the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home in charges of all arrangements.
Augie Talley
Augie H. Talley of Brownwood, son of the late Benjamin and Stella Deckard Talley, was born Aug. 22, 1923 at Zalma and died at his home on Monday, March 4, 2002, at the age of 78. Augie served in the United States Army during World War II and retired as a self-employed mechanic. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Lemons on March 21, 1981 at Gipsy, she survives. Other survivors include four sons, Sam Talley of Cape Girardeau, Kenny Talley of Brownwood, Jimmy Talley of Advance and Trennis "Tooter" Talley of Dexter; four step-sons, Johnnie Lemons of Advance, Joey Lemons of Clarksville, Tenn., Tim Lemons of Mainz, Germany and Paul Lemons of Arab; two step-daughters, Terry LeVart and Kathy Holt, both of Poplar Bluff; six brothers, Manford Talley and Doyle Talley, both of Gipsy, Willard "Wig" Talley of St. Louis, Lee Roy Talley of Alton, Ill., Glen Dale Talley of Collinsville, Ill. and Dean Talley of Creve Couer; three sisters, Mildred Buehler of Gipsy, Marie Carter of Collinsville, Ill. and Lena May Spears of St. Louis; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, two infant sisters, and one grandson, Shawn Talley. Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Wednesday, March 6 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. in the Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Winchester officiating. Interment will follow at the Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
Burl E. Mann
Burl E. Mann, son of the late Monrol Mann and Rosie Homes Mann, was born on April 26, 1942 at Parma and died on Sept. 23, 2001 in the Missouri Southern Healthcare Emergency Room at Dexter, at the age of 59. Mr. Mann attended the Church of God in Parma and was a retired farmer. In Feb. of 1967 he was united in marriage to Alice Johnson at Parma, she preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 1975. He was then married to Eunice Lee Cullum on May 13, 1978 at Grayridge, she preceded him in death on July 18, 1999. He is survived by two sons, Michael Mann of Zalma and Wesley Mann of Malden; two daughters, Joyce Lathey and Pamela Jackson, both of Lubbock, Texas; six brothers, Loyde Mann, James Mann, Kennith Mann, Bush Mann, Austen Mann, Jerry Matlock; three sisters, Martha Matlock, Anna May Mann, Gladys Burleson; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by one son, Alvice Mann and one brother, Gradie Matlock. Visitation was held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted in the Rainey Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 with Rev. Clifford Wray officiating. Interment followed in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden. Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter was in charge of all arrangements.
Harry Glenn Williamson, Sr.
Harry Glenn Williamson, Sr., the son of the late Harry and Lee Crutcher Williamson, was born in Essex on May 26, 1919, and died at his home in Essex on Sept. 24, 2001, at the age of 82. Mr. Williamson had lived in Essex all his life. He was a retired road and dam construction worker, a member of the Essex Methodist Church and the Full Gospel Men's Fellowship, a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army Corp and had been a flight instructor. On Feb. 25, 1941 he was united in marriage to China Wanda Lee Crews in Oak Grove, La. She survives of the home in Essex. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Harry Glenn, Jr. and Julia Williamson of Bloomfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Dan Hudgens of Dexter; three grandchildren, Jason Williamson and wife, Tammy, of Columbia, Phillip Williamson of Bloomfield, and Danielle Hudgens of Dexter; two brothers, Bill and Estell Williamson, both of Essex; two sisters, Margy Dopps of Mansfield, Ohio and Pat Quattlebaum of Arlington, Texas. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 26, after 12:30 p.m. at the Essex Cemetery. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter and Rev. Ernie Rogers of Poplar Bluff officiating. Interment will be in the Essex Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements. Memorials may be made to Kennett Hospice or the Essex United Methodist Church.
Wade Demaree
Wade Demaree, a lifetime resident of Malden, was born Feb. 24, 1929, the son of the late Abraham Otto and Sarah Elizabeth Bunnell Demaree, in Malden and died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 at his home, at the age of 72. He was united in marriage to Carol Helene Haines on Sept. 8, 1951 in Detroit, Mich., she survives of the home in Malden. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chalmer, Robert, and Billy Demaree. Mr. Demaree was a realtor and the owner/operator of a Retail Catalog Sale Merchant. He was a 1947 graduate of Malden High School and received a B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Missouri. He was a Cottonhill Township board member for several years and a member of the United Methodist Church in Malden. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Nancy Halford of Malden; three sons, Kerry Demaree of Malden, Dennis Demaree of Sugarland, Texas, and Jim Demaree of Bentonville, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and one brother, Wilbur Demaree of Marion, Ark. Visitation will be held at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden on Sunday, Sept. 23 from 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the Landess Funeral Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dwight Chapman and Rev. Robert Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Park Cemetery in Malden with Landess Funeral Home in Malden in charge of all arrangements.
