Paul Arnold
Paul Arnold of McGee, was born June 21, 1934 at Perkins, the son of the late Athel Paul Arnold and Annabelle Head, and died Sept. 14, 2001 at his home, at the age of 67. Paul retired as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was united in marriage to Shirley Storey on July 19, 1958 at Perkins, she survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Ronald Lee Arnold of Pacific and Vincent Anthony Arnold of McGee; one daughter, Sherry Irby of McGee; three brothers, Francis Andrew of Corpus Christie, Texas, Robert Arnold of Bell City and Fred Arnold of Mesler; two sisters, Patricia Lancaster of Overland, Mo. and Phyllis Wethington of Ferguson, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted in the Morgan Funeral Chapel on Monday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ted Stone officiating. Interment followed in the William Cemetery in Perkins with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
Jerry R. Sneed
Jerry Ray Sneed, son of Carolyn June Dozier Sneed and the late Gene Ray Sneed, was born at Dexter on Dec. 20, 1953 and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare on Sept. 12, 2001, at the age of 47. He was united in marriage to the former Claudia J. Glasgow at Paragould, Ark. on March, 15, 1996. She survives of the home in Bernie. Mr. Sneed was an auto body repairman at Jeremy's Cars, Etc. of Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jene Jewette Sneed of the home in Bernie; by one step-son, James Allen Moody of Bernie; by one step-daughter, Claudia Dale Henderson of Malden; by his mother, Carolyn June Sneed of Malden; by four step-grandsons; by one brother, John Mark Sneed of Advance; and by two sisters, Audrey Jane Hoggard of Malden and Jannett Kay Stephens of Advance. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie on Friday, Sept. 14 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the Stevens Cemetery in rural Bernie. Jessie Edmond
Jessie Edmond, Sr., son of the late Chester Edmond and Ella Williams Edmond, was born at Coffinville, Miss. on Aug. 10, 1910 and died in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston on Sept. 5, 2001, at the age of 91. He was united in marriage to the former Joella Rutledge at Grenada County, Miss. on Nov. 11, 1950. She preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2001. Mr. Edmond was a farmer and was a member of the Mount Calvary Church at Parma. He is survived by one son, Jessie Edmond, Jr. of Diehlstadt; and by one sister, Lillie Logan of Chicago, Ill. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son; by one brother, Nolan Edmond; by two sisters, Pearlie Logan and Christine Logan. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11a.m.-12 noon. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey Chapel in Bernie on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 12 noon with Rev. Johnny Williams of Poplar Bluff officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden. Rainey Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of arrangements.
Ethel Robins
Ethel Robins, of Advance, was born April 5, 1911 at Advance, the daughter of the late Claude and Iva Carlton Fowler and died Sept. 11, 2001 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 90. Ethel was a homemaker and a member of the First General Baptist Church in Advance. She was united in marriage to Vester "Pete" Robins on Oct. 11, 1926 at Advance. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1986. Also one daughter and one son preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Paul Dean Robins of Jonesboro, Ga.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance on Thursday, Sept. 13, from at 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held in the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance on Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Interment followed in the Morgan Memorial Park in Advance with Morgan Funeral Home of Advance in charge of arrangements.
Barbara Talley
Barbara Gene Talley of Bloomfield, formerly of Warrenton, was born Jan. 24, 1933 in Kennett, the daughter of the late Elmer Louie and Hazel Crossfield, and died on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001 at Beverly Health Care Center in Bloomfield, at the age of 68. She was united in marriage to Eldon D. Talley on June 11, 1954 in Dexter and to this union five children were born. Barbara worked as a nurses aid in Home Health Care in Warrenton. She is survived by two sons, David D. Talley of Dexter and Jerry E. Talley of Bloomfield; three daughters, Debbie L. Talley and Shirley Peck, both of Dexter, and Penny M. Butler of Montgomery City, Mo.; two brothers, Ronnie Crossfield of Jefferson City and Jerry Crossfield of O'Fallon; five sisters, Betty Green of Dudley, Georgia Hurley and Diane Gilliam, both of Fenton, Freda Rice of House Springs, Mo.. and Peggy Dudick of Wildwood, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two half brothers, Robert and Raymond Crossfield. Funeral services were held, Saturday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Nieburg-Martin Chapel in Warrenton, Mo. with Pastor David Click officiating. Paul D. Watkins
Paul David Watkins, son of Goldie Watkins DePriest of Dexter and the late George Watkins, was born on Dec. 5, 1957 at Dexter and died in Cape Girardeau County on Sept. 19, 2001, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Paul David was a construction worker and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Karen McClard on Sept. 12, 1998 at Dexter, she survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother and step-father, Goldie and Bill DePriest of Dexter; two brothers, George Watkins, Jr. of Bloomfield and Larry Roe Watkins of Dexter; two step-brothers, Ronnie DePriest of Derby, Kansas and Darrel DePriest of Fulton; and one step-sister, Vivien Burnsed of Fla. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Gene Watkins. Visitation was held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Sept. 21 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Rainey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerrold Lake officiating. Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
Lottie May Ellerbrook
Lottie May Ellerbrook, the daughter of the late Isaac Farmer and Sarah Tennessee Hopkins Burch, was born in Blackford, Ky.. on Jan. 12, 1904 and died at the Sells Nursing Home in Matthews on Sept. 19, 2001, at the age of 97. Mrs. Ellerbrook had lived in Matthews and LaValle before moving to Parma in 1956. She had worked at Morgans Dry Goods in Parma and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Parma. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Hiram, William Robert, Lynn, Johnnie, Charles, Tom, James and Robert Burch; and three sisters, Ella Walker, Agnes Frances Burch, and Nermie Alma Burch. Surviving are three sons, Vernon Johnson of Parma, George Ellerbrook of Weatherford, Texas, and Jackie Elllerbrook of Bagdad, Ky.; two daughters, Doris Allen of Humbodlt, Tenn. and Marcella Hon of Blytheville, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma on Friday, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Parma on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Tim McCanless of Kewanee officiating. Interment will be held at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of all arrangements.
James Keena
James Edward Keena, son of the late Tom Keena and Stella Smith Keena, was born on March 16, 1928 at Wappapello and died at his residence near Puxico on Sept. 20, 2001, at the age of 73. Mr. Keena was a farmer, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of rural Puxico. He was united in marriage to Leta Williams on Oct. 29, 1955 at Puxico, she survives of the home near Puxico. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Terry Keena of Magness, Ark. and Tim Keena of Puxico; one daughter, Dixie McCollum of Bloomfield; three brothers, Rev. Melvin Keena of Poplar Bluff, Henry Keena of Bloomfield, and Glen Keena of Davis, Olka.; one sister, Helen Branch of Pevely; and two grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne Keena, one daughter, Sharon Darline Keena; and two sisters. Visitation will be held at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, Sept. 21 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rusty Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
