Robert Earl Dillard, 64, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010
Robert Earl Dillard, 64, a resident of Laredo, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at his residence.
He was born June 20, 1946 in Trenton, Mo., the son of Earl Elgin Dillard and Marjorie Alice Claypole. On Aug. 6, 1966, he married Theresa May in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.
He was a 1964 graduate of Laredo High School.
He was employed with Gulley Transportation and Bently Trucking as a truck driver. He was a self-employed trucker as well. Robert was a member of the Laredo Christian Church.
He is survived by one sister, Jackie Mack; three daughters, Mona Loyd and husband Larry, Laredo, Mo., Laura Callihan, St. Joseph, Mo., and Cindy Lanoie and husband Bill, Gr. Prairie, Texas; seven grandchildren, Craig Loyd, Trenton, Mo., Kaleb Shiflett, Linneus, Mo., Kari Jobe and Chris, Jefferson City, Mo., Alaysha Pool and Darby, Olathe, Kan., Harleyn Smith, Laredo, Mo., Megan Lanoie and Hannah Lanoie, Gr. Prairie, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Haleyn Smith, Laredo, Mo., Sara Pool, Benton, La., and Fenix Pool, Olathe, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Toby Shiflett.
Services will be held at the Laredo Christian Church in Laredo, Mo., on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, in Laredo, Mo. Friends may call from 12 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Humphreys cemetery in Humphreys, Mo.

Jack H. Clevenger, 73, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010
Jack H. Clevenger, 73, a resident of Braymer, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010.
Jack was born Dec. 9, 1937 in Black Oak, Mo., to Owen and Naomi (McCullen) Clevenger. Jack married Colene (Davis) Clevenger on Sept. 15, 1957.
He graduated from Braymr C-4 High School in the class of 1956.
Jack served with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He retired after 30 years from the Ford Motor Company.
Jack was a member of the Black Oak Methodist Church. He served the City of Braymer as councilman for several terms. He was a board member of the Black Oak Methodist Church.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Colene; three daughters, Shelly Mayes, Kingston, Mo., Jackie Adkison, Braymer, Mo., JoAnna Scott, Smithville, Mo.; one son, Robert Clevenger, California, Mo.; three sisters, Lois Cassidy, Juanita Blevins and Glenn Ellen Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and grandson, Jordan Adkison.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation prior to the service at 10 a.m. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Black Oak cemetery and may be left at the Pitts Funeral Home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Donald Charles Head, 87, a resident of Chillicothe, died on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Mo.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. A family visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 from 6-7 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Edgewood cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.

Lance Eric Douglas, 29, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010
Lance Eric Douglas, 29, a resident of Wheeling, Mo., died at his residence on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, in the presence of his family.
He was born the son of Cecil R. Douglas and Lana (O’Dell) Kilmer on Feb. 24, 1981 in Chillicothe, Mo. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 2000.
He served as a member of the Army National Guard for two years. Lance enjoyed drawing, hunting, playing pool, riding motorcycles, and hanging out with his boys.
Lance is survived by his three sons, Connor, Kyan, and Matthew Hobbs of Chillicothe; two sisters, Lindsey Douglas and Lacey Lake and brother-in-law Tony of Brookfield; one brother, Zachary Douglas of Wheeling; his father, Cecil R. Douglas and wife Carol, Wheeling, Mo.; his mother, Lana (O’Dell) Kilmer and husband Billy of Brookfield; grandmother Barbara O’Dell, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leland O’Dell, and paternal grandparents, Leo and Doris Douglas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lance Douglas’ Children Education Fund, and may be left at or mailed to, Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

George Buel Smith, 83, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010
George Buel Smith, 83, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Mo., where he had resided for almost four years.
George was born on July 13, 1927, east of Jamesport, Mo., to Roy and Mary (Walker) Smith. George married his high school sweetheart Lula Laffey on July 6, 1947. They were married 62 years and to this union four children were born: Buel Ray, Martha, Janice, and Brenda.
George attended Arnold School in his elementary years and then graduated from Jamesport High School in 1945. After graduating from high school, George joined the Army and served for 15 months.
George was a crop and livestock farmer. In 1956, George hosted the Missouri State Plow match at his farm. In his early days, he enjoyed working with his Belgiun draft horses. He enjoyed driving his matched team in parades in the area. George showed his quarter horses at fairs and horse shows in Missouri, Illinois, and Nebraska. George won the Missouri State Fair Quarter Horse Futurities numerous times with his weanling and yearling fillies. He also raised the Reserve World Champion Youth Yearling Gelding and the Reserve World Champion Two-Year Old Snaffle Bit horse. George was president of the Jamesport Saddle Club for many years and always groomed the grounds to make sure everything was in perfect condition for the evening show. He especially enjoyed being the ringmaster at the Jamesport horse shows. Besides showing in halter and pleasure classes, George enjoyed visiting and making lifelong friends with competitors and spectators. George and Lula were also honored as inductees of the Green Hills Horse Show Circuit Hall of Fame.
George also enjoyed his cattle.
George was an active supporter of the Jamesport Junior Livestock Show for 50 years. His continued dedication led to the success of hundreds of 4-H and FFA members in the Jamesport community. He raised purebred Chester Whites and Yorkshires and sold offspring to many 4-H and FFA members to help them to get their projects started. George and Lula were nominated this past August by the State 4-H Council as members of the State 4-H Hall of Fame at the Missouri State Fair.
George had a high respect for education and for the Tri-County School system and staff. He served on the school board for 20 years where he served as board president for many of those years.
George was a member of the Jamesport United Methodist Church where he attended regularly.
George is survived by daughters, Martha Lockridge and husband Earl, Lincoln, Neb., Janice Rose and husband John, Bethany, Mo., and Brenda Lu Smith, Jamesport, Mo.; brother, J. Ray Smith and wife Jayla; sister-in-law, Mary Campbell and husband Clayton, Chillicothe, Mo.; sister-in-law, Delores Lockridge and husband Dale, Corydon, Iowa; and brother-in-law, Pat Laffey and wife Darla, Chillicothe, Mo.; grandchildren Rebecca Wall and husband Chad; David Lockridge and wife Courtney; Jacob Rose and wife Christine; and Jared Rose; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, and Dylan Wall and Avery and Owen Lockridge; a host of nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his wife Lula; infant son, Buel Ray Smith at the age of five months; his parents, Roy and Mary Smith; and his sister, Ina Kimberling.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Nov. 19, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Jamesport, Mo. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at the church. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport, Mo. Burial will be at the Masonic cemetery in Jamesport, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made the United Methodist Church in Jamesport in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.mcwilliamsfuneralhomes.com.

Arthur McClellen "Mickey" Childs Jr., 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010
Arthur McClellen “Mickey” Childs Jr., 71, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Mo.
Arthur McClellen Childs Jr. was born May 13, 1939 in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of Arthur McClellen Childs and Frances Grace Williams Childs. On Jan. 10, 1960 he married Dorothy May Caselman in Dawn, Mo. She survives of the home.
He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1957.
Mickey worked for many years for Atkinson-Windle Concrete, Midwest Concrete & Asphalt and Chillicothe Ready Mix as a cement truck driver and on the asphalt crew. For the last 15 years, before his retirement in 2001, he owned his own truck and hauled bulk cement for Missouri Mobile Concrete.
Mickey’s hobbies included working with metal and raising organic strawberries but his favorite times were spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, listed above; two daughters, Janet Nibarger and husband, Steve, Chillicothe, Mo., and Cheryl Cook and husband, Terry, Chillicothe, Mo.; one son, Bob Childs, Fort Collins, Colo.; four granddaughters, Shelly Higdon and husband, Dustin, St. Joseph, Mo., Letitia Nibarger, Lacey Nibarger, and Susan Cook, all of Chillicothe, Mo.; a great-grandson, Kaden Higdon, St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother, Joe Childs, Chillicothe, Mo.; and a niece, Sarah O’Dell, Chillicothe, Mo.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Childs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Burial will be at Anderson - Smith cemetery in Chillicothe, Mo. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of “Mickey” Childs may be made to the Anderson Smith cemetery and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Online condolences may be left a www.heritage-becausewecare.com.

Lori A. Depuy, 42, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010
Lori DePuy, 42, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 at her home.
Lori Ann was born May 1, 1968 in Brookfield, Mo., the daughter of Floyd and Carol (Thompson) Jefferson. On Sept. 3, 2006 she married Raymond DePuy.
Mrs. DePuy was an LPN and had worked at Pershing Memorial Hospital for 13 years and for Better Way Living in Chillicothe.
She is survived by husband, Raymond DePuy, Chillicothe, Mo.; one daughter, Ashley Lambert, Hamilton, Mo.; two sons, Cody Lambert, Hamilton, Mo., and Derek Lambert, Chillicothe, Mo.; her father and stepmother, Floyd and Raylene Jefferson, Linneus, Mo.; two step-children, Jesse DePuy and Brittney DePuy, both of Chillicothe, Mo.; one step-grandchild, Landon Burns, Chillicothe, Mo.; two sisters, Sherry Hays and husband Glen, of Duke, and Lisa Hostetter and husband Mike, Milan, Mo.; her grandmother, Irene Jefferson, Brookfield, Mo.; and her mother-in-law, Leona Wimmer, Chillicothe, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Jefferson.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo., with Jim Fitzgerald officiating. Visitation will begin Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 9 a.m. and the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Linneus, Mo.

Neola Ferne Magee
Neola Ferne Magee, 91, died Jan. 22, 2010 in Savannah, Ga.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Magee Sheffer (Jeff); son, Craig Magee (Deandra); daughter-in-law, Linda Magee; granddaughters, Sarah Harrison (David) and Shannon Harwood (Jeff); grandson, Chad Magee (Kim); and great-grandson, Henry Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Forrest Magee; and son, Gary Magee.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel, 6600 NE Antioch, Gladstone, MO 64119, at 1 p.m.

Rosalee Hoyt
Rosalee Hoyt, 74, a lifelong resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010.
She was born on May 22, 1935, the daughter of Edgar and Lela Mae Glore Willard, in Chillicothe. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1954. On Oct. 14, 1956, she married Raymond Hoyt in Chillicothe. He survives the home.
Rosalee was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church in Chillicothe. She was a homemaker and worked at the Livingston County Senior Center in Chillicothe.
Survivors include one son, Danny Hoyt and wife Kim of Chillicothe; two daughters, Cindy Graham and husband David of Wheeling, Mo., and Linda McDaneld and husband David of Hale, Mo.; one sister, Frances Reeter of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Clifford, Delbert, Herbert, Leonard, Lester, Russell and one infant brother; one sister, Vivian Mae Willard; one son, Bobby Hoyt; and one daughter-in-law, Deanna Wackerle Hoyt Lieber.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Friday, Jan. 29 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call on Thursday from 12-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe. James M. “Jim” Minnis
James M. “Jim” Minnis, 70, of Chillicothe, Mo., died at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010.
He was born on Sep. 3, 1939, in Carroll County, Mo., the son of Lawrence and Velma Garber Minnis. On July 10, 1959, he married Shirley Johnson at the Blue Mound Christian Church. She survives of the home.
He wa a member of the Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Jim was a Christian man that read and studied the Bible regularly.
Jim owned and operated Minnis Digging & Vaults since 1969. In later years he turned the business over to his sons and he went to work for PWSD#2 until he retired. He loved hunting, woodworking and farming. The last two years he started playing golf. Every opportunity he would go to the course.
Survivors also include three sons, Kevin Minnis and wife Crystal, Jeff Minnis and wife Holly, and Jason Minnis and wife Tracy, all of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; three brothers, Allen Minnis and wife Mary of Washington, Wayne Minnis and wife Phyllis of Indiana, Dave Minnis and wife Janie of Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Johnson and wife Pam of Dawn, Mo., Darell Johnson and wife Shirley of Polo, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, George and Ola Minnis and Austin and Julia Garber; mother and father-in-law, Gene and Vivian Johnson; brother-in-law, Roger Johnson and wife Pat, and brother-in-law, Hubert Welker.
Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. There will be a family visitation held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call on Thursday from 12-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Blue Mound cemetery, Blue Mound, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mound cemetery and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
