Mary E. Campbell
Mary E. Campbell, 51, of Otterville, Mo., formerly of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday evening, July 14, 2010, at her home.
She was born June 25, 1959, in Chillicothe, Mo., a daughter of Wayne and Berva Lauhoff Hapes. On March 18, 1977, in Chula, Mo., she married
Mike Campbell, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and watching races. She was active in the family business.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Clayton Campbell, Otterville, Mo.; a daughter, Abby Smith and her husband, Clay, Moberly, Mo.; her mother, Berva Hapes, Chillicothe, Mo.; three grandchildren, Caitlyn Smith, Carter Smith, and Landon Smith; three sisters, Shirley Triplett and Carolyn Hurst, both of Florida, and Martha Peery, Chillicothe, Mo.; and a brother, Bill Hapes, Chillicothe, Mo.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Linus Evers officiating. Casket bearers will be Jimmy Fairfax, Adam Hapes, Chris Hurst, Clint Peery, Kevin Peery, Tom Triplett, Adam Campbell, and Jake Nolting.
Honorary bearers will be Larry Jaeger, Gaylen Crowe, Bill Hutchison, Duane Baughman, Brian Hurst, Jason Campbell, and Bill Triplett.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at Heckart Funeral Home, Sedalia, Mo.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Bothwell Hospice.

Dorothy Mae Phillips Cooper
Dorothy Mae Phillips Cooper, 93, of Humphreys, Mo., died Monday, July 12, 2010, at Sunnyview Nursing Home, Trenton, Mo.
She was born March 18, 1917, in Shafter, Mo., the daughter of Vernon and Omi Jack Bowyer Phillips. On Nov. 19, 1933 she married
Harold D. Cooper and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1982.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church at Shafter. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and especially enjoyed preparing family dinners and having everyone home. She enjoyed doing crafts and was always busy sewing and making something for the grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by two sons: Vernon and daughter-in-law Doris Cooper, of West Plains, Mo., and Roger Cooper, of Humphreys, Mo.; four daughters: Phyllis Forson, of Trenton, Mo., Joan Stinnett, of Independence, Mo., Karen DeVore, of Browning, Mo., and Mary and son-in-law, Larry Grothe, of Wheeling, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cooper was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Esther, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Jennings; a brother, Junior and sister-in-law, Lavern Phillips; a daughter-in-law Jeannie Cooper; three sons-in-law: Donald Forson, Thomas Stinnett and Dorence DeVore, and a great-grandson, Justin Hachinsky.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the Haseville Methodist Church with the Rev. Stan Richardson officiating.
Burial will be in the Haseville cemetery.
A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Haseville cemetery.

Beverly Ostervich
Beverly Ostervich, 61, a resident of Braymer, Mo., died at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday, July 10, 2010.
She was born Dec. 14, 1948, in Braymer, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Waynette (Michael) Stubblefield. On Nov. 24, 1972, she married
Ed Ostervich in Braymer, Mo. He survives of the home.
Beverly was a 1966 graduate of Braymer High School and a 1971 graduate of Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo., with a bachelor’s degree in education. She completed graduate hours toward her master of science degree in education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo.
Mrs. Ostervich taught kindergarten in the Braymer C-4 School District for 29 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Braymer, Mo. She enjoyed gardening, showing and training horses, and spending time with her grandsons and family.
She is also survived by her mother, Waynette Stubblefield, of Braymer, Mo.; her daughter, Christy Christiansen and son-in-law Joseph, of Independence, Mo.; three grandsons: Riley, Carter, and Garrett Christiansen, of Independence, Mo., and a sister, Nancy Hudgins, of Mooresville, Mo.
Mrs. Ostervich was preceded in death by her father, Robert, and son, Scotty.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at United Methodist Church in Braymer, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be at the Evergreen cemetery in Braymer, Mo.

Adeta Arlene Thoenen
Adeta Arlene Thoenen, 62, of Holts Summit, Mo., died on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1948 in Chillicothe, Mo., a daughter of the late Howard Eldon and Olive Brown Atkins. On March 2, 1992 she married
Mike Thoenen, who survives of the home.
Adeta was a 1966 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She retired from the Missouri Department of Social Services as a Medical Technician assisting hospice families.
She is survived by her husband; one sister, Dorlene Meneely, Chillicothe, Mo.; one step-brother, Carl Shipp, Jr., Chillicothe, Mo.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Adeta was preceded in death by her son, Bradley McNally and her step-father, Carl Shipp, Sr.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Jefferson City, Mo. Funeral services will be held at the Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverview cemetery.

Doris Snyder
Doris Snyder, 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Mo.
She was born Sept. 26, 1917 in Sewal, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Wealtha L. (Hickerson) McKee. She moved to Green City, Mo., when she was five years old and has lived in Missouri since. On Nov. 4, 1933 she married
Harrison Snyder in Kirksville, Mo. They moved to Sampsel, Mo., in 1935.
Mrs. Snyder lived in the Chillicothe area since 1935. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and never worked outside the home until the death of her husband in 1959. She was Sampsel Township Tax Collector in the early 60s and a teachers aide in the Chillicothe R-II Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Snyder enjoyed growing a garden and flowers. Her idea of a vacation was growing a huge garden to share with family and friends.
She is survived by five children, Bill Snyder and daughter-in-law Annette, Chillicothe, Mo., Richard Snyder and daughter-in-law, Connie, Chillicothe, Mo., Sharon Kay Borrosco, Newbury, Park, Calif., Jani Rolon, Rocky Hill, Conn., Joni Bingham and son-in-law Dennis, Plainfield, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Helen Manning; one brother, Howard McKee; and three grandchildren, Monica Van Cleave, William Robert Van Cleave and Carole Snyder.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Friends may call from 12 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Olive cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.

Leo William Sanson
Leo William Sanson, 57, died Thursday, July 8, 2010.
He was born March 24, 1953 in Breckenridge, Mo., to Paul and Doris Sanson. He married
Donna Knecht Oct. 3, 1970 in Breckenridge, Mo., in the same house he was born in.
Leo grew up in Breckenridge, Mo. He served in the United States Army as a Specialist IV from 1972 until 1974. He drove a log truck his young adult life, hauled cars for United Transport and hauled various trailers full of goods across the country for Farmland Industries until he retired in 1989 from an accident while working.
He spent the rest of his years farming.
He was a member of the Chillicothe Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna Sanson; daughter, Sherri O’Dell; two sons, David Sanson and Jesse Sanson; two brothers, Tom Sanson, TJ Sanson and two sisters, Ruth Wheelbarger and Dolly Durnil; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Mo., on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Mo. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery in Breckenridge, Mo.

Marcheta Zullig
Marcheta Zullig, 71, a resident of Independence, Mo., died Saturday, July 24, 2010.
She was born Sept. 17, 1938 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Samuel and Violet (Aulabaugh) Keasler. On April 14, 1972 she married
Raymond Zullig in Alton, Ill. He survives of the home.
She was a 1955 graduate of Alton Illinois High School.
In her younger years, she was president of the youth group at Alton, Ill., United Methodist Church and later remained a member. In 1972, she moved from Alton, Ill., to Independence, Mo. She was an accountant at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. She enjoyed crafts and music.
She is survived by her husband; son, Danny Zullig, Dawn, Mo.; one brother, Tim Keasler, Searcy, Ark.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John Ellis; two sisters, Terry Lynn Keasler and Karan G. Keasler; and one brother, David Keasler.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Carolyn Helms
Carolyn Helms, 83, of New Boston, Mo., died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the University Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
Wilma Carolyn was born Aug. 25, 1926 in Purdin, Mo., the daughter of Roy Curtis and Edna (Foster) Bagley. On Aug. 18, 1946 she married
Curt Helms. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1994.
Mrs. Helms worked at Stanbury Uniforms in Brookfield, Mo., until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and playing the guitar. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Purdin, Mo.
She is survived by one son, Max Helms and wife Jan, Chillicothe, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brett Helms and wife Kristy, Hallsville, Mo., and Brooke Helms, Chillicothe, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Helms and Kason Helms, both of Hallsville and Hagan Atchison, Chillicothe, Mo.; one sister, Clarice Ruppert and husband Milton, Nokomis, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Charles Bagley; and one sister, Margaret McCollum.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo. Burial will be in New Boston cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.

Joseph L. Frerer Jr.
Joseph L. Frerer Jr., 85, of Carthage, Mo., died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Joseph was born on Aug. 21, 1924 in Jasper County, Mo., to Joseph L. Sr. and Ona (Daugherty) Frerer. He married
Marie Brooks on Sept. 2, 1950 in Jasper County, Mo. She survives.
Joseph was retired from Grace Chemical Co. after 34 years and he also farmed for many years. He attended the Zion Baptist Church east of Jasper and was a member of Jasper VFW Post 6415 and the Jasper Masonic Lodge. Joseph was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Frerer and wife Shirley, Carthage, Mo., Fred Frerer and wife Raye, Joplin, Mo., and Mark Frerer and wife Mary, Carl Junction, Mo.; three daughters, Susan Myers and husband Steve, Jasper, Mo., Rebecca Ann Terrill and husband Bill, Carthage, Mo., and Rachael Jan Sturm and husband Paul, Chillicothe, Mo.; one brother, Jim Frerer and wife Nancy, Carthage, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo. Burial will be in Park cemetery, Carthage, Mo.
