Edna E. “Betty” Doss, 77, of Laclede, Mo., died at her home on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1931 in Marceline, Mo., the daughter of Richard and Edna Trone Lynn. She married
Henry Doss, Jr., on May 13, 1950. She was employed as a grocery clerk in Hamilton for several years, and worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Hamilton, Mo., and Brookfield, Mo. She was a member of the Laclede Bruner Club and the Class of 1949 coffee club. She was an avid supporter of youth sports and also enjoyed quilting for the family.

James Elmore Duckworth, 78, of Chillicothe, Mo., died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.
He was born on July 19, 1930, in Browning, Mo., the son of A. Byron and Lillian Mae Kirby Duckworth. He was a 1948 graduate of Humphreys High School. Mr. Duckworth served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He earned a National defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal and Navy Good Conduct Medal. On July 2, 1951, he married
Lois Jean Ishmael in Laredo, Mo. She survives of the home.

Norma was born Nov. 27, 1917 in Grundy County, Mo., to George and Ruby Coleman Betz. She married
Paul Ader in Forsyth, Mo., on Sept. 20, 1940. He preceded her in death July 29, 1972. They lived on a farm northeast of Tindall, Mo., until moving to Trenton, Mo., in 1973.
Connie Sue McLaughlin
Connie Sue McLaughlin was the beloved daughter of Carl and Isabell McLaughlin, beloved sister of Diana and Greg Thomas, Patricia Stewart, Carl McLaughlin and Joe Myers, beloved mother of Sean Risner and Aubrey Ash and a beloved grandmother. Born May 21,1959 in Chillicothe, Connie passed from this earth on December 6, 2008 at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 15 days. Connie is now at peace with her Heavenly Father and her Dad.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Meadville, Mo. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Botts cemetery, north of Meadville, Mo.
