Kathy Lynn Silvey Dickson
Chillicothe, Mo. - Kathy Lynn Silvey Dickson, 48, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Carrollton, Mo., died Friday, June 27, 2008 at her home.
Kathy was born April 21, 1960 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Cecil Bernard Silvey and Bessie Fern Mills Silvey. On Oct. 9, 1991 she married
Ricky Lynn Dickson, Carrollton, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2008.
Kathy attended Chillicothe schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Mo. Kathy enjoyed music and listening to Bible cassettes and listening to sermons on the radio.
She is survived by three sons, Aaron Todd and Matthew Todd, both of Holts Summit, Mo., and Jerrid Todd, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Linda Denker and husband, Gene, Chillicothe, Mo.; five brothers, Charles B. Silvey and wife Judith, Chillicothe, Mo., Bruce Murphy and wife Cheryl, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Rick Silvey, Salisbury, Mo., Bobby Dean Sayers, Breckenridge, Mo., and Roger Richardson, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ricky; a son, Eric Todd; two brothers, Larry Mills and Billy Hampton.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Burial will be at Plainview cemetery, Chula, Mo. A family visitation will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 2 p.m. until time of service.

John N. Hogan, 80, a resident of St. Louis, Mo., and a former resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Roy J. Turner
Chillicothe, Mo. - Roy J. Turner, 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Monday, June 23, 2008 at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
Roy was born Oct. 1, 1911 in Linneus, Mo., the son of Joseph William and Floy Lea (Kirby) Turner. He married
Nola Ruth Stelplugh on Oct. 4, 1941 in Hale, Mo. She survives of the home.
Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Mo. He was a farmer. He served as deacon of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church, he served two terms on the Meadville School Board, two years as the board president.
Roy is survived by his wife, Nola, of the home; one son, James Turner and wife Laurie, Kirksville, Mo.; one daughter, Janet Waite and husbnad Danny, Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Jesse Turner, Chicago, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Steven Turner and wife Miranda, Kansas City, Mo., Andrew Turner, Kirksville, Mo., Scott Turner, Kirksville, Mo., Christina Worth and husband Derek, Topeka, Kan., and Kyle Waite and wife Jessi, Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Vernon Turner, Cliff Turner, Samuel Turner, Joseph Turner and John Turner, two sisters, Frances Wood and Ruth Turner and an infant sister, Alice Turner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. A family visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 10 a.m. until service time at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Phyllis D. Gwynn
Chillicothe, Mo. - Phyllis D. Gwynn, 73, of Brandon, Fla., died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, S.C.
Phyllis was born March 19, 1935 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Marshall and Lida Mary (Vinson) Macklin. She married
Raymond Gwynn on May 28, 1966 in Key West, Fla.
Phyllis was a baker at the Monroe County School District in Florida.
Phyllis is survived by a son, Raymond Gwynn, Brandon, Fla.; a brother, Vernon Dale Macklin, Macon, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Jean, Blackriver Falls, Wis., and Sandra Lorick, Ladson, S.C.; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Tarrilyn Gwynn, brothers Henry and Vincent Macklin and a sister, Velma Corzette.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Coloma cemetery, Coloma, Mo. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2008 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home, Salisbury, Mo.

Robert (Bob) Lee Thompson
Chillicothe, Mo. - Robert (Bob) Lee Thompson, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2008 at home in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Bob was born April 4, 1930 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Glen and Mary (Wampler) Thompson.
He was raised in Chillicothe, Missouri where he attended high-school. He left the family farm by joining the Navy in 1948 and served on the U.S.S. Midway. During his service he became a member of the Blue Noses—an award for sailors who sail into the Arctic Circle. He was honorably discharged in 1952. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Richmond, Missouri. He was on the Chillicothe Chain Gang for the Chillicothe High School Hornets for 27 years.
Bob married
Imogene (Genie) Elaine Eichler, daughter of R.C and Alta Eichler of Braymer, Missouri the day after Christmas, December 26, 1950 in Harrison, Arkansas. For a short time they lived in Richmond, Lexington, and Clinton, and then settled in Chillicothe, Missouri where together they raised their three children.
After returning to Chillicothe, he first worked delivering meat for John Graves Food. He started his own carpentry business in 1959, and is best know for his quality carpentry and cabinetry skills. His sons joined him in the construction business, and together they built dozens of houses in the Chillicothe area. After semi-retiring from carpentry, he returned to his farming roots and for several years operated his own commercial crop spraying business. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time in his shop building toys and furniture for his family and close friends.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed working in his garden, drinking coffee with his friends and spending time at the lake fishing and relaxing. Bob will be remembered as a hard working, generous man, who was always willing to share his smile, his skills, his tools, and his time with anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Leroy, Ralph, Raymond, and Delford; and sister, Delores.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Genie; daughter, Patricia Ferguson and husband Shane of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; son, Robert Michael (Mike) of Chillicothe, Missouri; son Donald Lee and wife Debbie of Chillicothe, Missouri; seven grandchildren, John (Andy), Eric, Lindsey, Haley, Brooke, Abby, and Megan; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin and Delbert both of Chillicothe, Missouri; sister, Mary Katherine Bonderer of Chillicothe, Missouri.
The body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Wheeling cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. A family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, July 25, 2008 at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Byron David “Doc” Taylor
Chillicothe, Mo. - Byron David “Doc” Taylor, 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at his home.
Byron was born Jan. 19, 1930 in Olathe, Kan., the son of Leslie Edward and Edna Christine (Beal) Taylor. He married
Jennie Lynn Williams on Sept. 18, 1955 in Chillicothe, Mo. She survives of the home.
Doc attended school in Utica and Chillicothe. He served in the United States Army from Oct. 16, 1951 to July 20, 1953 in the Korean War. He was in the 2nd Infantry Division, 72nd Med. Tank Batallion. He went through two leadership schools in Fort Knox, Ky. He spent two years at Missouri University, Columbia, Mo., of which one year was in advanced advertising journalism. Upon completion of schooling, Byron worked at the Norborne, Mo., newspaper for six months, then coming to the Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune where he served for 33 years until retirement. Doc was an avid golfer for 45 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Chillicothe Elks Lodge Number 656 and Friendship Lodge 89 AF and AM in Chillicothe, Mo.
He is survived by his wife of the home; one brother, Russell Taylor, Fort Smith, Ark.; one sister, Ada Allnutt, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers-in-law, Roger Williams and wife Mary-Henri, Summerfield, Fla., Edward Williams and wife Susie, Saipan, MP and Ferd Lightner, Columbia, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Anita Williams, Blue Springs, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Parsons and Marian Lightner and one brother, Donald Taylor.

Herman L. Little,
Chillicothe, Mo. - Herman L. Little, 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at his home.
Herman was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Carroll County, Mo., the son of Charles and Cora (Isom) Little. He married
Joyce Littrell in May of 1952 in Carrollton, Mo. She preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 1981. He married
Goldie Clark Oehring on Aug. 11, 1986 in Bucklin, Mo. She survives of the home.
Herman owned the Standard Gas Station in Carrollton, Mo., from 1960 to 1980. He later worked the parts desk for Rupp’s Automotive for 11 years. He was a member of the Bogard Baptist Church, Bogard, Mo., and attended the Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Mo., and Lake Viking, Gallatin, Mo.
Herman is survived by his wife Goldie of the home; one daughter, Diana Deardorff and husband, Kirby, Chillicothe, Mo.,; two sons, Dennis Oehring and wife Robyn, Manchester, Mo., and Dale Oehring, Tampa, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Rickilinda Oehring, Cameron, Mo.; one brother, Nelson Little and wife Beulah, Windsboro, La.; and one sister, DeAun Estes and husband Andy, Brian, Texas; and four grandchildren, J.A. Oehring, Cameron, Mo., Caitlin Korte, Manchester, Mo., Matthrew D. Oehring, Manchester, Mo., and Andrew E. Oehring, Manchester, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joyce Little and one son, Donald Lee Oehring, one infant brother, one brother and one sister.

Thomas Wayne Place, 69, a resident of Lakeland, Fla., died on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Fla.
Ruth Tharp
Chillicothe, Mo. - Ruth Tharp, 91, of Henrietta, Texas, formerly of Spickard, Mo., and Jamesport, Mo., died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Henrietta, Texas.
Funeral services were held at the Cowboy Church in Henrietta, Texas, with Rev. Larry Miller, pastor officiating.
Mrs. Tharp was born April 22, 1916 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Rev. Carl Lee and Ruth (Beaver) Simpson.
She was a dietician and also a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Alden Tharp, Henrietta, Texas, and Steven Tharp of Wyoming; daughter, Belinda Palisoc, Alaminos, Philippines; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Myron Tharp; son, Ronald Tharp, and grandaughter, Tracey Tharp.
Graveside services will be held in Trenton, Mo., at the Resthaven cemetery on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10 a.m. Pastor Eduardo Palisoc and Brent Spray will officiate.
Linda Louise Shannon
Chillicothe, Mo. - Linda Louise Shannon, 62, of Belton, Mo., died Friday, June 13, 2008.
Linda was born in Laredo, Mo., in 1946 and attended school in Laredo and Chillicothe, Mo. She was a member of the Laredo Baptist Church, Laredo, Mo. She married
Wayne Shannon on Sept. 3, 1971. She enjoyed dancing at the Yellow Rose in Harrisonville, Mo., and belonged to the TOPPS Club in Pleasant Hill. She also enjoyed reading, playing the guitar, mandolin and singing.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Wayne E. Shannon; a son, Edward D. Medlock and wife Rita Pilcher; a daughter, Teri S. Lange and husband Jeff; three grandsons, Jacob Pilcher, Jarod Medlock and Jared Lange; and 3 granddaughters, Samantha Miller, Desiree Miller and Jadyn Medlock; a sister, Thelma Marie Garr and husband Dick; brothers, Gene Spainhour and wife Judy, Emory Spainhour and wife Martha; a sister, Barbara Utley and husband Earl; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Delia Spainhour; sister, Edna Nevels; and two brothers, Donald Spainhour and Forest “Bumper” Spainhour.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Braymer cemetery, Braymer, Mo. A celebration of life will follow at the Church of Christ in Chillicothe, Mo.

Lena May Sprague, 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Friday, June 13, 2008 at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
Terry Ivan Richey
Chillicothe, Mo. - Terry Ivan Richey, 62, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Ludlow, Mo., died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his home under the care of his family and Hedrick Medical Center Hospice.
Terry was born Sept. 22, 1945 in Ludlow, Mo., the son of Harold Earl and Dorothy Elizabeth Atterberry Richey.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Mo.
He enjoyed music and every kind of sports and was very knowledgeable about music and sports trivia.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Richey of the home; two brothers, Jim Richey and wife Nancy, Chillicothe, Mo., and Roger Richey and wife Rose, Chillicothe, Mo.; ten nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Richey in 1991 and a brother, Gary Richey, in 1999.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Monroe cemetery, Ludlow, Mo. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008.
