Patricia Pelleschi
MALDEN -- Patricia Ann McCauley Pelleschi, 59, of Malden died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Pelleschi was born Sept. 1, 1944, in Kennett. She was a bartender and member of the Malden American Legion Post 293. She was also the former owner/operator of the Glennonville Tavern.
On Sept. 8, 1962, she married
Donald Cazares in LaPuente, Calif.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracie Cazares of Dexter and Patricia Cazares of Los Angeles; one son, Anthony Cazares of Corona del Mar, Calif.; one brother, Victor Willis of Corona del Mar; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Sister Mary Frances Reis officiating.
Lester Barks
GREENVILLE -- Lester K. Barks, 87, of Shook died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Arrangements are pending with Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville.
Richard Garver
QULIN -- Richard Clark "Dick" Garver, 64, of Qulin died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, in Edwardsville, Ill.
Mr. Garver was born Nov. 12, 1938, in Butler County to the late John William I and Vera Clark Garver. He had lived in Qulin and Edwardsville for most of his life and was a member of the Qulin American Legion Post 494. He had served in the Missouri National Guard and was a farmer, truck driver and farm implement salesman. He loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Thea Lynn Bailey and husband Samuel of Edwardsville and Suzanna Marshall and husband Joseph of Gillespie, Ill.; two sons, Richard Clark Garver II of Poplar Bluff and Jacob "Jake" Garver of Edwardsville; one sister, Betty Vancil of Crystal River, Fla.; one brother, John William "Bill" Garver of Williamsville; three grandchildren, Elaina Rose Marshall, Adam Clark Marshall and Reese Abigail Marshall; and a special friend, Dixie Garver.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Jean Garver.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Otis Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel cemetery.
Mary Baxter
WAPPAPELLO -- Mary Irene Baxter, 73, of Wappapello died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past six months.
Mrs. Baxter was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Braggadocio and was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers, birds and quilting.
On Oct. 18, 1949, she married
Morley Baxter. He preceded her in death April 8, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Floyd Baxter of Bernie; one daughter, Alma Rhody of Grandin; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Morgan and Vance Morgan, both of Wappapello and Junior Morgan of Naylor; and four sisters, Susan Gallamore of DeSoto, Margaret Brawley of Van Buren, Alice Twitchell of New Franklin and Louise Frazier of Wappapello.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Home in Wappapello. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Wappapello with the Rev. Tommy Crane officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City cemetery.
Kathaleen Beard
SHELBYVILLE, Ill. -- Kathaleen C. Beard, 92, of Shelbyville, Ill., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, in the Shelbyville Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Beard was born Aug. 18, 1907, in Shawnee, Okla. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.
On Sept. 1, 1926, she married
Alfred Bary Beard Sr. in Shawnee. He preceded her in death April 12, 1964.
Survivors include one son, Alfred Barry Beard II of Texarkana, Texas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Fairview cemetery in Shawnee. Lockart and Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville and Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home in Shawnee are in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.
Cloyce Stacy
CORNING, Ark. -- Cloyce "Sam" Stacy, 86, of Delaplaine, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Stacy was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Pocahontas, Ark. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Feb. 14, 1946, he married
Nema Bass. She survives.
Survivors include one son, Trent Stacy of Delaplaine; and one sister, Juanita Smalley of Corning, Ark.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Larry Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Brownie Chapel cemetery in Delaplaine.
Mary Baxter
WAPPAPELLO -- Mary Irene Baxter, 73, homemaker and resident of Wappapello died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at her residence.
Arrangements are pending with Cotrell Funeral Service in Wappapello.
Cora Brooks
ADVANCE -- Cora M. Brooks, 81, of Advance died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at the Advance Nursing Center.
Mrs. Brooks was born Nov. 25, 1921, in North Fork, Ill. She retired after 26 years of service with the Inland Shoe Company in Advance.
On March 13, 1942, she married
Wade Brooks in Benton. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Survivors include one son, Don Brooks of Advance; one daughter, Carolyn Hill of Advance; one brother, Leslie Trousdale of Sedgewickville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Morgan Memorial Park cemetery in Advance.
Jesse Skaggs
PIEDMONT -- Jesse Skaggs of Williamsville died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Arrangements are pending with Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont.
Nadine Mitchelle
Nadine Mitchelle, 78, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-South Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Mitchelle was born March 1, 1925, in Como. A homemaker, she attended the New Home General Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and art.
On June 26, 1943, she married
Henry Thomas Mitchelle in Poplar Bluff. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Sue Crain of Batesville, Ark.; one son, Lester Allen Mitchelle of Festus; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Naomi Haggett
GREENVILLE -- Naomi Estell Haggett, 93,of Greenville died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at the Greenville Health Care.
Mrs. Haggett was born July 24, 1910, in Greenville. She was a homemaker.
She married
Harvey Haggett April 9, 1932; he died in 1983.
Surviving are three sons, David Haggett and John Haggett, both of Silva, and Leroy Haggett of Patterson; a daughter, Loretta Wedepohl of Patterson; a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Cox of Patterson; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at the Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel; burial will follow in Rockwell cemetery at Patterson.
