DEXTER -- Elfreda Crane, 83, of Dexter died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Arrangements are pending with the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Elmer Clark
DEXTER -- Elmer E. Clark, 88, of Fayetteville, Ark. died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Clark was born June 19, 1913, in Myrtle. He was a former resident of California and had been a resident of Fayetteville for the past 23 years. He was a retired carpenter.
On March 6, 1943, he married
Doris Loraine Lawson in Morehouse. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, James E. Clark of Pickney, Mich., Ronnie George Clark of Fayetteville and Michael Lynn Clark of Bremerton, Wash.; one daughter, Joyce Marie Hodges of Oxnard, Calif.; one sister, Georgia Welch of Grants Pass, Ore.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in the Essex cemetery.
Kenneth Kessler
Kenneth E. Kessler, 78, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, June 3, 2002, at the Oakdale Care Center.
Mr. Kessler was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Kokomo, Ind. He had worked as a freight truck driver and was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff.
On May 2, 1995, he married
Patty Kessler in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Woodlawn cemetery in Poplar Bluff. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Donald Roberts
PIEDMONT -- Donald E. Roberts, 65, of Patterson died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Roberts was born Oct. 23, 1936, at Augusta, Ark. He was a locomotive engineer with the TRRA and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was retired and had lived in Patterson since 1993. He was affiliated with the Baptist church.
On April 5, 1979, he married
Helen Christine Wagster. She survives.
Other survivors include three children, Ricky Austin Roberts of Murphysboro, Ill., Sharon Roberts of Denver and Tammy Roberts of Granite City, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Linda Darlene Mohr of Poplar Bluff; four brothers, Marcus D. Roberts of Piedmont, Bernard Roberts of Shangaloo, La., Ronnie Roberts of Ravenden, Ark., and Barry Roberts of Granite City; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at 10 a.m. today at the Morrison-Worley Funeral Home in Piedmont. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Hutto officiating. Burial will be in the Patterson cemetery.
Lowell Tanner
DEXTER -- Lowell Russell Tanner, 78, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Bernie, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Mr. Tanner was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Calm. He was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association. Mr. Tanner graduated from Couch High School and Arkansas State University, where he played for the Arkansas Greyhounds Independent Team. He taught math and physical education for thirty-five years in the Missouri schools of Couch, Risco, Bernie, Richland and Pacific. He coached several area basketball teams, including the 1964 Richland Rebels to the state championship where they won second place, ending with a season record of 35-1.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing pool.
He was married
first to Reva Evelyn Reed on May 2, 1942. He then married
Ethel Marie Maples who survives.
Other survivors include his children, Russell Dale Tanner and wife Jeanice of Bernie; Donna Louise Tucker and husband Harold of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Randy Ellis Tanner and wife Tammy of Dexter; five granddaughters, Kimberly Flowers, Lori Daniels and Brook Smith, all of Dexter, Brandy Judd of Monroe, LA, and Melanie Tucker of Oak Grove, Louisiana; one grandson, Tyler Scott of Dexter; six great-grandchildren, Owen, Alexis, Ethan, Brett, Maci and Andrew; three step-children, Jim Eubanks of St. Louis, Harold Eubanks of Carbondale and Ossey Eubanks of Charleston, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Anastasia Flowers; one brother, Leamon Tanner; and two sisters, Lena Reed and Bessie Jones.
Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. A graveside funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chalk Bluff cemetery near Dexter with Stan Dauck officiating.

Kyle Alaniz
PUXICO -- Kyle James Alaniz, infant son of Shannon and Michelle Alaniz, was stillborn Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Survivors include his parents and grandparents, Debbie and Ray Alaniz of Puxico and Charles and Trease Grillas of Fisk.
A graveside funeral service was held at 1 p.m. today at Puxico City cemetery with Bobby Moore officiating. Morgan-Sifford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Homer Wilson
Homer Wilson, 82, of Poplar Bluff, died suddenly Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Wilson, the son of the late Jasper Brown and Eliza Elizabeth (Armstrong) Wilson, was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Butler County and graduated from Rounsaville Business College. He retired from the U.S. Forestry Service in 1977. During his tenure, he participated in the construction of the Markham Springs Recreation Area. He was a member of the Township Line Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II in Germany, where he flew gliders. He enjoyed raising treeing walker dogs, coon hunting, and gardening.
On Oct. 26, 1945, he married
Wilma Bernice Warbington. She preceded him in death Aug. 25, 1998. On Sept. 11, 1999, he married
Ruby Beatrice Crook Wilson. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Richard "Rick" Wilson and wife, Sue, of Poplar Bluff; three stepchildren, Larry Wilson and wife, Marsha, of Mariloma, Calif., Wadina Cope and husband, Sam, of Ft. Smith, Ark., Rita Castillo and husband, Carlos, of Moore, Okla.; two grandchildren, Aaron Wilson and wife, Shelly, of St. Louis, and Matthew Wilson of Springfield; two brothers, Acel Brown Wilson and James Monroe "Roe" Wilson, of Poplar Bluff; and one sister, Alma Jane Warbington of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will begin at 7 tonight at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Curtis Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Shepherd cemetery.
Ella Yates
ELLINGTON -- Ella Mae Yates, 90, of Ellington, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis.
Mrs. Yates was born March 9, 1913, in Ellington. She was a homemaker and member of Believers Chapel Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and fishing.
On Sept. 16, 1931, she married
Luin R. Yates in Ellington. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Lester Yates of Dittmer; one daughter, Geneva Leiweke of Chesterfield; ten grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Believers Chapel Church in Ellington with Pastor Marvin Richards officiating. Burial will be in Rumburg cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Donald Callahan
ELLINGTON -- Donald O. Callahan, 72, of Ellington, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Reynolds County Memorial Hospital in Ellington.
Funeral arrangements are pending with McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington.
Elizabeth Lowe
BLOOMFIELD -Elizabeth Ellen (Betty) Lowe, 81, formerly of Bloomfield died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2001, in Salem, Ore.
Mrs. Lowe was born March 6,1919, in Nogales, Ariz. She and her family lived in the Bloomfield community for 17 years.
On June 1, 1940, she married
Dalbert A. Lowe. He preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1979.
Survivors include two sons, Perry Lowe of Dallas, Ore. and William Lowe of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mary Cantrell of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Walker cemetery.
Richard Patterson
BLOOMFIELD - Richard ŒPat' Patterson, 59, of Bloomfield died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
Mr. Patterson was born Oct. 27, 1941, in Shelbina and had been a resident of the Bloomfield Community since 1970. He was a car salesman and owned and operated Patterson Auto Sales in Bloomfield until ill health forced his retirement.
On April 29, 1966, he married
Beverley Snider. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Margaret Patterson of Sikeston; one daughter, Melanie Morris of Jackson; two stepsons, Terry Woodruff of Aiken, S.C. and Lloyd Kerner of Portland, Ore.; one brother, Jack Patterson of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lloyd Anderson officiating.
