Fern Clark
FISK - Fern Alberta (Hayes) Clark, 78, of Paducah, Ky., died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mrs. Clark was born July 18, 1922, in Fisk. She was a homemaker and had lived in Paducah for six years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
On Feb. 1, 1942, she married
William Lawrence "Curly" Clark. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1974.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Cook of Paducah; one son, Bobby Clark of Alabama; one sister, Maxine Surber of Bourbon; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmie Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Shain Memorial cemetery in Fisk.
Helen Kimes
JACKSON - Helen Nora Kimes, 72, of Cape Girardeau died March 28, 2001, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since October of 1998.
Mrs. Kimes was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Poplar Bluff to Vera Beights and Walter Val Smith. They preceded her in death along with one brother, Walter Smith of Santa Rosa, Calif. She was an employee of Montgomery Wards in Poplar Bluff for many years and was the owner of Park Lane Shoe Store from 1974 to 1980.
On July 28, 1945, she married
Walter E. Kimes in Pocahontas, Ark. They divorced in 1979.
Survivors include one son, David E. Kimes of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Linda Sue Mangels of Cape Girardeau and Penny Del Vecchio of St. Louis; one sister, Sue McGowen of Mascoutah, Ill.; one brother, Luther Smith of Farmersville, Texas; four grandchildren, Chris Gullette, Brian Gullette, Cory Mangels and Kaeli Kimes; one great-grandson, Stephen Gullette, all of Cape Girardeau; three nieces, Bonnie McBurney of Opelika, Ala., Denise Henley of Farmersville and Pam Smith of Euless, Texas.
McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of arrangements. No services were held.
Dennis Jackson
DEXTER -- Dennis Jackson, 76, of Bernie died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Mr. Jackson was born March 20, 1926, in Dexter. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marines.
On Feb. 14, 1957, he married
Willie Genivea Williamson in Hernando, Miss. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Gerald Jackson of Dexter and Robert Franklin and Larry Franklin, both of Bloomfield; eight daughters, Loretta Gammon of Fredericktown, Brenda Irwin of Morley, Brenda Phillips of Rolla and Linda Myers, Yvonne Gord, Donna Bolin, Joy Burnett and Jill Hampton, both of Dexter; one sister, Bertha Sedrick; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gerald King officiating. Burial will be in the Bernie cemetery.
Julius Galla
Julius Galla died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, in St. Louis.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Juanita Mosley
DEXTER -- Juanita L. Mosley, 82, of Dexter, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Ms. Mosley was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Cooter. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ in Dexter. She was retired as a strawberry packer for Naturipe in San Jose, Calif.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald K. Mosley of Dexter and Ralph A. Mosley of Los Banos, Calif.; three daughters, Peggy L. Rangel and Muriel D. Dirden, both of Dexter, and Patricia A. Duvall of San Martin, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Stearns and Gloria Blough, both of Dexter; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in the funeral home chapel with Kevin Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Dexter cemetery.
William Wayne
MALDEN -- William Lee Wayne, 69, of Clarkton, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Wayne was born July 22, 1933, in Kennett. He was a member of the Solid Rock Church in Clarkton and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a retired carpenter.
On Aug. 13, 1954, he married
Yvonnie Fisher in Kennett. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Charles Lee Wayne of Rockaway Beach, and Brian Lynn Wayne of Clarkton; two daughters, Bonnie Sue Mask and Sheila Ann Zimmerman, both of Malden; one brother, Roy Wayne of Clarkton; three sisters, Wilda Gurlen and Helen Smith, both of St. Louis, and Barbara Raines of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny King officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton.
Lydia Clayton
SIKESTON - Lydia Mae Clayton, 87, of Sikeston, died at 10:31 a.m., Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Clayton was born March 28, 1913, in Lawrence County, Ark. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper with Richardson Gin Company in Marston and a Pink Lady at Missouri Delta Medical Center for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ.
On Nov. 17, 1945, she married
Carl Clifford Clayton in Paragould, Ark. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1999.
Survivors include two brothers, Cleo Gilooly of Kennett and Sewell Gilooly of Reno, Nev.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Pat Hogan and the Rev. Johnny Hester, both ministers at the Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mounds Park cemetery in Lilbourn.
Dean Ainley
DONIPHAN - Dean Ainley, 71, of Doniphan died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Arrangements are pending with Edwards Funeral Home.
Vader Link
BLOOMFIELD - Vader L. Link, 79, of Bloomfield died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Link was born Jan. 5, 1922, near Bloomfield. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter and had attended the Link Community Church near Bloomfield. He was a retired teacher for the Portageville school system and had also been a farmer.
On July 28, 1951, he married
Pansy Kleffer. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Brenda Jean Gaines of Dexter; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ilene Moore and the Rev. Jerry Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Essex cemetery.
Carel Perry
BERNIE - Carel Glenn Perry, 78, of Bernie died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center in Malden.
Mr. Perry was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Dexter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Powe and had worked as a machine operator for a furniture factory in St. Louis. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include three brothers, Wendell McNece of Oxford, Miss., Verl McNece of Bernie and Keith McNece of East Alton, Ill.; and three sisters, Norma Jean Bishop of Ridgeland, Miss., Nina Denisen of St. Charles and Helen Wright of Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Keith McNece officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany cemetery in rural Campbell.
Eldon T. Cooper
DEXTER - Eldon T. Cooper, 84, of Dexter died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Cooper was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Zadock and was an alderman for the City of Dexter for 20 years. He was also the owner of Cooper & Sons Auto Sales in Dexter.
On Aug. 30, 1940, he married
Georgia Irene Bailey in Advance. She preceded him in death June 29, 1984.
Survivors include one son, Thomas E. Cooper Jr. of Dexter; one daughter, Marilyn Brown of Dexter; one brother, Vernon Cooper of Bloomfield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a loving friend, Retha Meroney of Dexter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Gary Cooper and the Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Burial will be in the Dexter cemetery.
Bernice Maxam
BERNIE - Bernice Maxam, of Bernie died Monday, April 16, 2001, at the Dexter Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
