Barbara Oliver
PUXICO -- Barbara Ann Oliver, 54, of Dudley, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Oliver was born March 8, 1949, in Dudley. She was a member of Corinth General Baptist Church in Puxico and was a director for Parents as Teachers in Puxico. She was owner and operator of Little Wonder Day Care Center in Puxico and a counselor for the Judevine Autistic Foundation. She enjoyed flowers and grandbabies.
On July 20, 1968, she married
James Oliver in Puxico. He survives.
Other survivors include one son, David Oliver of Puxico; two daughters, Leigh Anne Rommel of Poplar Bluff and Sherry McGill of Puxico; three brothers, Lyman Fowler and Harvey Fowler, both of Puxico, and Floyd Ray Fowler of Perryville, Ohio; one sister, Elwanda Sebree of Dudley; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will begin after 6 tonight at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bob Bradford and the Rev. Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial will be in Puxico cemetery.
Theodore Aubuchon
Theodore F. "Pete" Aubuchon, 82, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare-South Campus.
Mr. Aubuchon was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Chaffee and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He had retired from J.C. Penney Co. Inc. where he worked in the maintenance department, was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. During the Korean War he served as a flight instructor at the Malden Air Base. He enjoyed reading, model airplanes and corresponding with people.
Survivors include one brother, George F. AuBuchon of Athens, Ala.; and one sister, Anna Davi of Poplar Bluff; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be at noon Saturday, March 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike McDevitt officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery. Cotrell Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Harry Bradshaw Sr.
CAMPBELL - Harry Elbert Bradshaw Sr., 89, of Piggott, Ark., died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Mr. Bradshaw was born Jan. 7, 1912, in Holcomb and was a retired farmer, carpenter and painter. He was affiliated with the United Methodist faith.
In 1929, he married
Bonnie Dye. She preceded him in death in 1943.
Survivors include two sons, Harry Bradshaw Jr. of Campbell and Darris Bradshaw of Piggott; two daughters, Karen Stevens of Piggott and Helen Figgs of Topeka, Kan.; four brothers, Truman Bradshaw and Luther Bradshaw, both of Frisbee, Junior Bradshaw of Portland, Ore. and Jewell Bradshaw of White Oak; one sister, Ethel King of Paragould, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will be in the Loyd cemetery in Holcomb.
William Young
Dr. William C. Young, 79, of Poplar Bluff, a retired specialist in gastrointestinal surgery, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his residence.
Dr. Young was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Little Rock, Ark. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. He graduated from Duke University and received his M.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine, from which he holds a master of science degree in physiology and pharmacology.
Dr. Young was the author of several publications relating to abdominal surgery and had presented papers at medical meetings throughout the country. During World War II, he graduated from Columbia University Midshipman School and served as an aircraft recognition officer in the Pacific.
Dr. Young also served as a diplomat on the American Board of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and was a member of the American Medical Association, the Massachusetts Medical Society and Boston Surgical Society. He was the past president of the Medical Staff, Chairman of the Operating Room Committee and a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of Doctor's Regional Medical Center. He retired from medical practice in 1985.
On Aug. 19, 1948, he married
Anna Frances Parham in Little Rock, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include two children, Jan Reed Young of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dr. Joy Gewanter of Georgetown, Washington, D.C.; one brother, Jan B. Young of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kurt Schuermann officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn cemetery in Little Rock.
Dellaretta Bollheimer
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Dellaretta McMillan Bollheimer, 81, a resident of Poplar Bluff and Memphis, Tenn., died Monday, May 27, 2002, at the Andover Nursing Home in Wichita, Kan.
Mrs. Bollheimer was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Fairdealing. She attended school in Doniphan and was employed by the Vandover Motor Company in Poplar Bluff. She moved to Memphis in 1946, where she was a secretary for the architectural firms of the late Everett Woods and Hall and Waller. She was an active member of the former Springdale Methodist Church and Trinity Methodist Church in Memphis. She was an accomplished artist who specialized in oil paintings. She was a volunteer for the Memphis Heart Gala and enjoyed round and square dancing.
She married
Philip Anthony Bollheimer Sr. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Beverly Bollheimer Dismuke and Philip Anthony Bollheimer Jr.; her sisters, Dorothy Marion Thompson and Amy Belle Gray; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Development Office of either the University of Tennessee Health Science Center or the University of Kansas-Wichita for stroke research.
Charles Worley
Charles Leslie Worley, 66, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, as the result of an accident in Poplar Bluff.
Arrangements are pending with Cotrell Funeral Service.
Rev. Burl Leonberger
QULIN -- The Rev. Burl E. Leonberger, 74, of Bourbon, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002. He was raised in the Broseley area and had lived in St. Louis for several years.
The Rev. Leonberger was a member of the Highway C Worship Center in Bourbon. He was an evangelist and Pentecostal minister for 40 years. He retired from Combustion Engineering in St. Louis in 1982.
On Jan. 30, 1948, he married
Alta Cooley. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Burl E. Leonberger Jr. of Woodson Terrace and Paul Leonberger of Bourbon; three daughters, Delores Ray of Cuba, Mo., Patricia A. Sifenuets of Foley, and Diana K. Jackson of Salem; one brother, Gilbert Leonberger of Dexter; one sister, Nelda Long of Marine, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Herman Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel cemetery in Broseley.
Laura Center
MALDEN -- Laura Center, 86, of Campbell died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Arrangements are pending with Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Helen Payne
ELLINGTON -- Helen Payne, 74, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis.
Funeral arrangements are pending with McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington.
Anna Taylor
Anna Frances Taylor, 65, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Taylor was born Sept. 30, 1937, in Paragould, Ark. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
On Oct. 23, 1976, she married
Jerry Lee Taylor in New Orleans. He survives.
Other survivors include one sister, Donna Vickery of Houston, Texas.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Poplar Bluff City cemetery with Mr. Jerry Robertson officiating. Cotrell Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Hilary Wilson
CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- Hilary Michelle Wilson, 16, of Carlinville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in Fosterberg Township.
Miss Wilson was born Aug. 27, 1986 in Columbia. She attended Carlinville Southern Baptist Church and would have been a Junior at Carlinville High School. She enjoyed her family and friends.
Survivors include her father, Randy A. Wilson of Carlinville; her mother, Pamela M. Wilson of Columbia; one sister, Heather Miranda Wilson of Carlinville; and her grandparents, Earl and Florence Wilson of Columbia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 tonight at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carlinville Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Rhodus officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn cemetery in Carlinville.
